Mac Vintage Maduro? Say it ain't so!
Introducing, the first maduro within the highly regarded Macanudo Vintage series. This limited production handmade employs the very best Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper leaves from a small crop cultivated in 1997. Hand-selected and extra-fermented to perfection, this dark and oily leaf conceals a carefully blended recipe of Nicaraguan, Brazilian, and Dominican long-fillers. The result is a deep, rich flavor that's truly Macanudo. Smooth and consistent, each Macanudo Vintage Maduro 1997 produces a dark maduro flavor with ample flavor and a soothingly sweet aftertaste.
....and yes, that really is a metal band. In addition to doubling as a luxury cigar holder, this band also serves as a quality control device for your humidor's moisture output.
Holy smokes, I have smoked less than a dozen cigars. Been looking for one I would smoke day in day out, this would be the one, the aroma, grassy, chocolate, spice near the bottom 1/3. Others I smoke about halfway as there is something I dont care for, this Macanudo is excellent. It was a little tight and draw was slow yet consistent throughout the entire length. The only downside was it was on the dry side, either from shipping or me not having a humidor for three days.... I hope that the ones I have left will recover in the humidor as I am looking forward to the next one.
Just had my first Macanudo Vintage 1997 & all I gotta say is ... WOW what a smoke! I must admit that the band & that beautiful maduro wrapper is what first drew me in. Not wanting make a buy on looks alone, I did some checking. After reading & watching numerous reviews I took a chance. I was not disappointed. This is a very flavorful cigar. Medium-full body without being too strong. This a very smooth smoke. Nice razor sharp burn with a solid white ash (2"). I was listening to internet radio while smoking this cigar and at about the halfway point, the Drifters song "This Magic Moment", came on. I was floored. What an appropiate song. It like they knew. It really was a magic moment all the way through this stick. The dark brown almost black maduro wrapper is gorgeous with a nice oily sheen. Great smoke, great burn & nice ash. I burned my fingers on this one. Hard to put down. If you can still find them, buy them they're worth every red cent!
One of the best. This has the flavor profile you want from any maduro. I have smoked dozens and always my go to if someone asks for a recommendation. Draw is a little tight but that actually works in my favor because it lasts longer! A 10 for flavor. A 10 for appearance. A 9 for smokability( because of the tight draw).
Simply the best Maduro I have ever had. For a pure medium cigar this has a sweet richness and woodsy flavor that reminds me of midwest oak, sweet corn, and turkish coffee. Never bites. A touch of spice for structure. A true winner. My son loves Maduros and when we were duck hunting I brought this along. as we were pulling the decoys he agreed that this was the best Mad he ever had. The ring label is a little much---who cares. I have had the Robusto and Toro. Toro is even richer if you have the time. I'm on my second box now. Enjoy bros.
My rating of this cigar is 100 out of 100! Just an awesome experience. Don't hesitate to buy this cigar.
I have tried relentlessly to figure out why this cigar has not received praise from all the "experts" out there and I have come to one conclusion... THEY DONT WANT YOU TO KNOW IT EXISTS!! In my opinion, The Vintage '97 is medium-full bodied, extremely smooth and rich with a small dash of creaminess. The only thing stopping me from buying them all up is the price. But I assure you if I had the funds, there'd be none left in circulation :)
Incredible smoke, the presentation is just the start... It's a splurge but so worth it, you won't be disappointed!
These cigars are a great smoke all the way through. Never a disappointment, always a rich smoke with an easy draw. One of my all time favorites. Try these, they are well worth the money.
I don't usually take the time to write a review but I had to on this one. First off the price, the nice box, and metal band is enough to draw people in. Boxing them by 12 gets the box price in range of most buyers. Like another person said wasn't expecting much but I don't know why. But I was dead wrong. I like a good Maduro with my morning coffee and this one takes the cake. It has become the cigar that I will grab with no hesitation. The burn was perfect, the construction was perfect, firm but not hard, didn't feel like I was going to bust it wide open if I held it to hard in my teeth. The draw and smoke was perfect. The flavored were great and had nice transitions. With almost every box I have especially under $250 retail I get a bad one in the bunch, I will have a flavor that is too overwhelming or a flavor I don't care for. I love alot of cigars but have gotten used to not liking at least one thing about them holding me back from grabbing right away but this cigar is perfect and really puts me at ease. It is a relaxer not an exciter until you're done and think damn I finally have a winner and one I can afford and that my man is exciting.. Enjoy....
Great cigar all around. I hated to see it burn down. Sure wish I would have purchased more than five of them and hopefully will in the near future if they are still available. I suggest these cigars to anyone who enjoys a good maduro cigar. Better get them while the're available, I know I will.
"EXCELLENT" in every way! Says it all!
I received one of these with my Cigar of the Month order... I was totally blown away! Not only was the cigar beautiful, but the metal band was very cool as well. I didn't expect much from this cigar, although I'm not sure why. It ended up being a phenomenal smoke. It had a great burn, great taste, and produced lots of thick smoke. I would definitely buy more of the Vintage 1997s!
Wow! I picked up a box of these with the free bugatti lighter and they were not only gorgeous, but an incredible smoke! The flavor was just right, the burn even and the draw smooth. The metal bands and the box adds a touch of class. I'll be getting more of these for sure!
I've had the pleasure to enjoy one of these. They are so amazing looking and the smoking experience is just as amazing. Pleasurable amount of smoke from each puff, perfect draw and the taste is to die for! I'm definitely ordering me a box of these since they are back in stock! I hope these never go away!
Can you say amazing?! I received a box from a friend and at first light, I was in love. Smooth draw from start to finish, and a taste that will literally leave you breathless because of the quality. If you are a fan of maduros, get as many of these while they are available or else you will be wishing you had.
I bought two boxes of the Toros a few weeks ago. $8 bucks a stick was a little above my normal comfort zone but I love Macanudo Maduros so I thought I'd give them a try. I cannot say enough about these cigars! The draw is perfect, they burn evenly, smooth and rich flavor and the metal ring is really classy, I will probably continue buying these great smokes for as long as they are available.
first off I would like to give thanks to my oldest son because he had bought these for me as an early fathers day gift. I just fininshed smoking my very first Macanudo and all I can say is WOW! Going on the description on this stick I made a point to share this experience with a couple of close family members and they also agree with me WOW! This is a very smooth and relaxing smoke! I will be buying more of these while the supplies last.
