La Aurora Embassador Maduro New

Aged 10 Years

La Aurora Cigars are steeped in history and tradition. It was the first established cigar factory in the Dominican Republic and the only one with 100 percent Dominican Roots. La Aurora means “rise like the dawn” and their cigars have certainly risen to be some of the best cigars on the market since their humble beginnings. And what we have at hand here is a rare treat that should be added to cart ASAP.

During a factory visit down in the DR they kindly showed us to an aging room where they had shelves full of these bundled beauties that had been patiently aging for 10 years – a project that simply never came to fruition. And after puffing down a few samples, it was a no brainer. These things are the real deal, so we took them all off their hands are passing the savings on to CI Nation. They’re covered in an oily Brazilian maduro wrapper, and stuffed to gills with Dominican, Brazilian, Nicaraguan, and Peruvian long-fillers. A smooth medium-bodied cigar with a pleasant notes of chocolate, cedar, leather, and black pepper. The only bad news? This is one time deal, so hop on these aged treats while they’re still available.

Bet you can’t enjoy just one!
I’d like to say great smoke for the price but if the price was twice the amount I’d still buy them. Even all the way through. I ended up smoking 2 of them back to back. I don’t know if I got them in a sampler pack or Cigarfest. I jumped on here right away to order more of them.

SHORT STROKES
I USUALLY BUY BIGGER RING CIGARS-THEY JUST FEEL BETTER IN MY HAND AND IN MY MOUTH. BUT FOR WHATEVER REASON I TRIED THESE LITTLE GUYS, AND WAS VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. FLAVOR IS GREAT-NOT TOO STRONG, BUT NOT MILD EITHER. AND THE SIZE KIND OF ADDS TO THE PLACES AND AVAILABLE TIME I HAVE TO ENJOY A NICE CIGAR. SINCE THEY ARE SHORTER, I CAN GET IN A COUPLE OF STEERING STROKES BETWEEN CASTS WHILE PADDLING THESE OZARK MOUNTAIN STREAMS THAT I LOVE SO MUCH. AND BONUS: BECAUSE IT IS A LITTLE MILDER THAN MY USUAL; SMOKES, IT MAKES FOR A GREAT MORNING SMOKE. BUILT WELL. SMOKES GREAT!

Almost Fresh
One of the smoothest maduros I have ever smoked. I might have rated it higher if it wasn’t a bit dry/old. That and I have smoked fresh from the factory on DR and those are a 10!!

nice cigar
I only buy the coronas and have about 60 in hand so far. solid construction, unusually smooth smoke. Flavor varies a little, but the low flavor ones are still good while the high flavor ones hidden in each pack like a prize can be quite good. enjoy while you can. 3 stars due to limited stock but would be a 4 if this was a production cigar.

la aurora corona
First off, I would like to say that these small (corona) size cigars burned for an hour to an hour and a half. Pretty amazing, since most robustos don't last that long. For cigars with that kind of post roll age on them they were still pretty full bodied. All in all a very good value.

Good Cigar Good Value
A well made cigar that is just a little light on taste but long on smoke.

60 ring
Every good smoke. Would like to is it in a 60 ring. The 50 ring is ok but a 4.5 X 60 would be great.

I am really enjoying these.

Nice cigar lots of flavor.
Nice cigar lots of flavor. I would’ve thought that the cigar would have been sturdier .. didn’t sustain the hardness that the smaller preferidoes do, got soft ! But good tobacco.

Good price, great taste
Great bang for your buck. My friends and I agree on this one. It has a full and rich taste, without overpowering, and you can afford to light these up regularly without breaking the bank.

Outstanding
Fantastic, smooth smoke that burns evenly and draws well. Woodsy and coffee, and stays pretty consistent all the way past the band. Wish I had bought a few more when they were available.

A Real Keeper
A fine smoke and I could not wait for them to settle. I received these short style Robustos yesterday and today I lit my first one. The look is impressive and its oily wrap has a bright sheen to it. Toasted the foot, and its initial off smoke even smells nice. The draw was very easy but never got too hot. The complex blend of tobacco was intriguing and its size was just perfect enough for the time spent. Rich smoke on the palate and volumes on the exhale. I have not had a La Aurora in many years but I am so glad I came back. I have written several reviews for CI but I can’t say enough about this great cigar. What are you waiting for?

Enjoyed it a lot
This is a good cigar. Well made and high quality. When I don't want to spend an hour on a double gordo or something, this is a good size and quality. It is worth it.

Simply Great
These 10 year(or more) aged Maduros from La Aurora are amazing. I have been smoking cigars for 40+ years and I have smoked enough to know a great cigar when I get one. I ordered 20 the 1st time (a week ago) and I just ordered another 20. You will be pleased..

STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!
This offering provides an excellent QPR (quality-to-price ratio) in a very tasty and well-constructed cigar! For the price I can think of none better!! The overall taste is primarily rich, dark tobacco with a little chocolate and spice and it smokes smoothly from beginning to end. The burn is even all the way to the nub and I can't report any detractors worth noting. For me the flavor seems to be more driven by the Dominican tobaccos (reminds me somewhat of Gran Habano and Pinar del Rio cigars), but pumped up a notch or two and made slightly more complex by the other filler tobaccos. I would classify the strength as just a step or two beyond medium. Well worth the trip--STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!

OUTSTANDING
This is an outstanding cigar. Construction is excellent; beautiful dark (like dark chocolate) maduro wrapper; burn is even; taste is fantastic. The corona size is perfect to get plenty of the rich wrapper flavor. This is, without a doubt, the best La Aurora cigar I have ever had the pleasure of smoking. Finally, the price is phenomenal - a true bargain in the age of overpriced cigars!
