Behold, La Aurora's finest creation to date
In 1495, Christopher Columbus sailed to the Dominican Republic, where he arrived to the fertile valley of Cibao - home of today's finest Dominican tobaccos - founding the city of Santiago de los Caballeros. La Aurora's 1495 Series honors the foundation of this city with a supremely-made, medium to full-bodied blend that could be the factory's greatest accomplishment to date. Combining a complex, but patiently aged, blend of Dominican Corojo and Dominican-seed ligero grown in Nicaragua, the 1495 is adorned with a stunning, marbleized Ecuadorian-grown wrapper leaf that's thick, toothy and loaded with pop. Chewy hints of leather and spice excite the taste buds without overpowering the palate, keeping the flavors smooth and balanced from first light to your very last puff.
These are amazing, great tasting cigars. If these were in stock I would buy more- wow.
Aesthetically, these cigars are about as good as it gets. Beautiful look to them. I let my robustos sit in the humi from July-March before smoking them. Flavor-wise, I get distinct pepper and wood. I think that this is more of a med-full rather than a medium-bodied cigar, but that might just be me. Overall, I must confess I've been a little let down by this cigar after smoking five of them. I want to love it, but it just leaves me feeling kind of middle-of-the-road about it. I've smoked much better for much less. Alas. . .
So I received a 5'er in the "Build Your Own" mega-sampler delivered June 2013...they have been nestled all snug in my humidor...tried my first 1495 tonight after it's 6 mon nap...with a sniffer of some very limited production port wine from a small local producer...WHAT AN AMAZING STIX !! Great cigar on every front...wrapper...draw...burn...flavor profile!! Wonderful down to the nub...gotta get more of these!
I prefer the Dominican Puro, but these are really hard to beat - especially when you compare the prices.
Box worthy sticks! I love Sumatra and corojo wrappers and this binder/wrapper combo is just plain scrumptious . Construction is wonderful and the cigar is oily and pretty. I bought a box and rott I knew this cigar was a winner and reordered another box right then. Now that they have rested they are my go to stick mid day to early evening.
Complex stick with a unique taste profile that keeps you coming back for more.
Like others have already said:"a masterpiece","exquisite"-this was my first time with a 1495 after 28+years of cigar smoking!Oh well better late than never esp.in this case.Got a 10-pack of the robusto early this week, gave them a couple of days to settle in the humi and broke one out to enjoy Thanksgiving night after a great dinner and time with family,a perfect end to a special day.Worth every penny- just a perfect cigar! You want complexity? Here it is!
Fantastic cigar!Full-on great flavor! Even burn, nice white ash. This is one of the best cigars I've smoked.Just a masterpiece.
A good, full bodied cigar. Taste is steady, not over whelming. If a fuller tasting stick is your pleasure these may fit. Definitely worth a sampler try. 3 out of 5 stars fellows, sorry, and ladies.
Why so much for these?I got a bot of belicoso and was waiting to be Blown away but to my surprise it was just ok. Don't know what the big deal is about the 1495 cause I sure didn't find it. There are way better cigars on the market for far less scratch....
A dark reddish wrapper with a few noticeable veins. No soft spots and a nice cap. Hints of earth and spice over the unlit body. Upon lighting comes a dash of black pepper evident through the nose. Full of strong spices this cigar burns even and provide an easy draw with a firm ash. The spice reduces a bit and lends to a somewhat creamy core, with hints of earth and spice. It remain consistent and full flavored and has some leathery finish, that's dry and elegant. The aroma here is alluring and complex. A must try cigars for all connoisseur.
What a treat. This is a great cigar. I had been wanting to try the La Auroras for a while so I ordered the sampler (once CI dropped the price by $20 I couldn't resist). I have only gone through a few so far, but the 1495 is exquisite. It is very firm and tightly packed, so I was concerned that the draw would be tight, but it drew perfectly. Lots of creamy white smoke. This cigar has a beautifully complex wrapper with notes of butter and oak. A fantastic medium-bodied smoke.
I just recieved my CI sampler which included these 1495s.WOW!!. This is a great stick.good burn, good ash,and great draw. The flavor was consistant right to the end.The leathery wrapper was also a plus.a little pricey but worth every penny.I would recomend this cigar to anyone who likes a medium to full cigar.I will be ordering a box to add to my humidor. Thanks CI for offering the sample packs that really help us try different sticks at an afordible price. I cant wait to try the rest of the cigars in the sampler box.
The 1495 #4 is a great smoke. A very complex smoke ranging from earthy to cream to leathery. Out of the 1495 series this one to me has the most flavor and is by far the best. I give this smoke a 90..
a great cigar to show off to buddies or to just relax, La Auroras 1495 masterpiece is complex, gorgeous to look at and a real pleasure to smoke. its a pricy smoke but as soon as you feel it in your hand and snip the cap, you know where your money has gone and aint that the best feeling in the world? once again la aurora well done. 92.
I got one of these sticks (La Aurora 1495 Series) from the Big Smoke in Chicago and smoked it on 6/19/07. I had heard that this brand was a good one, but I'm pretty difficult to please. Wow, from beginning-to-end, I was impressed. Great smoke in all categories.
Another costly cigar (La Aurora 1495 Series) that offers value for money. A complex cigar that starts out about medium and gets stronger, but never harsh. The burn was absolutely even down to the nub. Excellent flavour.
All the ingrediants that go into making a fine cigar are present in the La Aurora 1495 Series. Appearance, construction, draw, burn and a flavor that in my opinion is superb! I have smoked cigars for years and enjoyed many, however this cigar is the one I have enjoyed the most and will continue to. M. Walsh
A sublime cigar! I'm normally not a fan of Corojo leaf, but this blend is superb (La Aurora 1495 Series). It's extremely complex and full of flavor, without overpowering the palate. Rich, deep, and leathery, with gentle teases of spice. Plus, the construction is top-notch with a cool and easy draw. You owe it to yourself to try this cigar.
