Sosa Cigars: top-notch brand, dirt cheap CI price.

With nearly 100 years of tradition in the cigar industry - including a strong presence in Cuba during the glory days - the Sosa Family has a lot to be proud of. So don't let my massively discounted deal on their lovely bundled line tarnish that name one bit. Because, well, it's indicative of nothing about the cigars. Nothing, besides the fact that I bought a container load of Sosa cigars at a discount. And now I'm passing along the savings. That's all. The cigars are delicious, no doubt. But now, they're much, much cheaper.

Sosa is medium-bodied, extremely smooth, and very flavorful. That's complements of a well-blended combination of aged tobaccos including a dark, oily maduro wrapper leaf and a blend of Dominican and Honduran long-fillers. Notes of earth, cocoa, pepper, and sweetness are present, along with a rich tobacco core. In sum, an easy-going cigar that's loaded with flavor. A cigar you'll enjoy burning over and over again. And at my nutty prices, you can afford to.

Just OK
Ok cigar, but would not buy again.

Good smoke for the money
I like these cigars, and for the price, they are a good everyday smoke. They are mild for the most part; however, in the beginning, they can be a bit harsh.

I enjoyed these Sosa cigars. I would buy them again.

Sosa Churchill
I found the draw to be a bit restricted on a few of these cigars in the first third, but otherwise they burn evenly. They are flavorful and complex - an excellent value.

Needs improvement
The flavor profile is really good, but the problem was many were just too tight a draw or altogether plugged. Maybe it was just the batch I got but just hate having to toss out a smoke, probably wont buy again.

Surprised it was so good
It was a very full body cigar with a lot of rich Tabacco taste- It had little bit of spice it burned cool and even -nice draw- I’m sorry it was discontinued-but for the price it was really a nice experience.

Long Relaxing Smoke
This cigar is a nice long smoke where you can kick back and enjoy the leather wood notes. Id recommend this smoke 9 out of 10 times.

SOSA CHURCHILL
Very good cigar. Second time buying them and will not be the last time. Great everyday cigar.

Good but not great
The Sosa Churchill was a great value, but an average smoke. Taste is good, and most of them burned fairly clean, avoiding dense blockages of many more premium cigars. At the same price I would gladly but them again.

I like Sosas but...
these Churchill's have a tough draw and are difficult to keep lit. I've had six of the 20 purchased and so far each manifested the same problem. Shorter Sosa's have been terrific. Maybe the 7" length is too great. I cut some in half and they were fine with the exception of the wrapper coming loose.

Wow, these are really good.
I got these on special so decided to try them. Churchills are a little big for me but it's what was on sale. Wow, these are really good. I'm very surprised at the smoothness and the consistent construction. I'll certainly be buying these in the future but, perhaps the smaller version.

Sosa cigars
They are ok, are not the flavor I prefer, to peppery tasting, don't allways burn evenly

Just as good as the high-end cigars.

Well worth the money
I’ve purchased these several times. Overall, satisfying. Probably no awards but for the budget minded, cannot go wrong.
3 out of 5
Good flavor unfortunately, they tended to burn poorly.
Almost every stick burned in the middle, outrunning the edges.

Very nice cigar. Good flavor, slow even burn, would love to make this one my daily but it's not being offered in bundles anymore. That's why only 3 stars.😟

The Cigar is pretty decent. The smoke isn't bad. for the money it's a very pleasurable cigar.

A surprising "sleeper" cigar - it's good!
Ignore any negative reviews - I've ordered these three or four times now and have never been disappointed. Smooth flavor, consistently good burn, good draw, good construction, surprisingly good price. Every friend I've shared these with loves them, some have even ordered on their own after trying mine. This cigar is a surprise hit - the Sosas out-perform a number of higher-end cigars. Just try them.

Sosa Churchill is an okay cigar.
A decent cheap cigar. A few have tunneled pretty bad but for the price they are okay for yard and golf course

Medium to full body and a power house of flavor at a great price. What more could I ask for. I'll certainly buy more. Thank you CI.

So-So
This cigar smokes evenly and is milder than I anticipated. It is enjoyable, but nothing to write home about. The sole disappointment is that the outer wrapper comes lose when to cut the top off. I tried three different cutters obtaining the same result.

Great bang for the buck!
Recently purchased a bundle of 20 Sosa Churchill's for a sweet price. This is a very respectable smoke with a good flavor profile...Money well spent!

I buy cigars that are on sale because that's what I can afford. It's too bad most of the time they're dried out. These aren't too bad but more harsh than I expected. Also not long leaf so must not cut off the end.

Decent Cigars
Bought 3 bundles for our annual hunting trip because of the sale price and the reviews The hunting groups consensus was that they were a pretty decent cigar . Good burn , good construction, and a good smoke. As always CI delivered a good cigar at a good price.

The price is right for the smoke you get. I’ll buy again.

Decent Maduro
I like them a lot but not much better than my usual Palma Real----I would buy them again if the price is right.

Good smoke. Worth the buy
Good smoke. Worth the buy as it was on clearance. A little inconsistent in the roll. Some are way to tight for my liking but overall very nice.

Good smoke for the price
It is good for the price. Some of the cigars are poorly built and unraveled after you cut. The ones that don't are actually a good smoke. One thing I noticed is that my humidor was about 80 in some point and it seems the taste improved. I've found that the Sosa tastes better from half to the end, which was somehow unexpected. I'd buy them again.

Sosa Churchill Retirement Cigar
The Sosa cigar will not let you down. It was my first smoke of the Sosa brand and I just may have to buy more before they are all gone. Smooth taste from the start and 30 minutes later is still going strong. As the smoke disappears, my only thought is I should have sooner. Great job on cigars Sosa!

Doesn't Act like a cheap cigar
I could time the burn out every time ( 1hr 10 min from lighting it to having an inch left). The first cigar I felt like I paid too little for. Taste was mild and didn't leave an after taste. Really good brand for the money

Always liked Sosas!
Great churchill for a great price. Good 6 hole burn on the golf course!

Disappointed
I was very disappointed in these cigars. The draw was very hard to the point that my jaw started to hurt I started off with a punch and then use my guillotine to cut off the end which did not improve the draw at all. The burn was very uneven and it was very difficult to keep lit. The second one was just as bad overall I am very disappointed in this cigar.

Consistently good!
Great cigar! It is a medium bodied Maduro with great construction and is very consistent. On my second bundle now and everyone has burned well and provided the classic Maduro flavors.

Good flavor but some were rolled to tight to get a good draw on. But overall I will reorder.

Excellent cigar for the price!
EXCELLENT CIGAR! I purchased while on sale and got well more than my monies worth! These are a fantastic cigar at this price. Do yourself a favor and try these.

Those that smoke are good.
1 out of 3 are virtually unsmokable. They fall apart or won't draw. Factor that into price. If you buy a 20 pack you are really getting around 13 good cigars.

Good construction, burn, flavor. They;ll be more in the humidor for sure. Can't go wrong with CI prices.

A fair cigar, decent flavor, inconsistent draw from each cigar. Equal to the cost however.

Sosa great hidden value...even my cigar snob friends enjoy the entire sosa line

Excellent value!
Can't go wrong with Sosa. Not the best cigar on the market, but most certainly one of my top 3 under $10 per stick. And for less than $2, I'll keep as many as I have room for!! Love this cigar! Definitely takes a predominant slot in my everyday rotation! Get some while they're cheap and bundled, I can't fathom them being available very long at this price...

I like the churchill on the golf course. They handle being dropped several times on the ground while playing and one usually last nine holes.

A bit disappointed in Sosa Churchill
Too loosely bound resulting in too fast & hot a draw. Taste was good in the beginning but got too hot as it burned down
5 out of 5
Great Deal on a Good Cigar!
Sosa's are a nice golf course cigar. Moderate in both flavor and taste. Each one lasts 6 to 9 holes, dependent on my day's putting skills!

a nice smoke
Nice smoke good draw, stays lit. butt end does tend to fall apart as early as one half way done. Not a deal breaker for me, i used to chew.

OUTSTANDING!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the Sosa Churchills! I will be ordering many more in the future!
Customer Testimonials
These are consistently good cigars, generally well constructed and they burn well. No complaints!
Just got a bundle of the maduro belicoso and would have to say this is one of the better 2.00 'gars I have smoked. Easy draw, tons of spicy smoke, good all the way to my burnt fingers.
Great cigar at a great price. Medium to full body, easy draw and great flavor. Buy 'em; you can't go wrong!!
Really smooth flavor, excellent construction & burn, smooth draw, very consistent.... No negatives to speak of.
Got a bundle of these Churchills along with G.A.R. Reds in the same order. Compared with the G.A.R. cigars the Sosas did not deliver either in flavor or construction. Going to steer away from these for a while.
A great cigar for the money. I routinely score these for less than $2.00 a stick and would recommend these. Better than some $5.00 smokes I have had. Don't hesitate to try a few; you will like them.
My first purchase from this site I included Sosa Toro. I love the smell and found it a great smoke. It burns well and the taste lasts throughout the cigar. Today I bought it again.
I got a couple of these about a week ago. Smoked one and it had a tight draw and the smoke output from the draw was very little. It got a little better after a bit but not too great. The taste was good and so was the smell. Maybe the second one will be better after some aging. Not totally giving up on this one.
Got me a bundle the other day and I was pleasantly surprised. Having smoked over 200 different brands in the last couple of years I know what I like, and I like these. Usually you can say that you get what you pay for, but in this case we have a diamond in the rough. Love the flavors and the consistency of the sticks, can only recommend others to try them as well.
Tried my first Sosa churchill, a little bit on the mild side for my taste. But the quality and construction was outstanding. Used a punch to cut and had great results. Nice shiny wrapper and burned perfect. Worth a try if you like a mild to medium smoke.
Great smoke, burns evenly to the end never having to relight. Wife liked the aroma...will buy more!
After reading so many of the positive comments about this cigar I ordered a bundle of robustos from Joe Cigar and was quite pleased with this pick. I'm always looking for a go to maduro with ample flavor and no bite, something I can smoke with no reservations. Well I've found it. This is a really good cigar with plenty of good attributes. This cigar has it all, aroma, smoke volume, flavor and price.... I'm on my third bundle and will be ordering these until they stop making them.
I find them fairly tasty for what they are. Not all, but the vast majority simply have a really thin wrapper. Fairly noted as medium body but with a bit more flavor than I would've thought. Not a bad occasional burner for $2ish a stick. They're an ok add-on to an order when ya want a passer-outer or yard gar. Curious about Sosa's other offerings. Smoke well!
bought the sosa sampler. third harvest is a very tasty smoke good burn & draw the sosa robusto i tried to smoke had very tight draw was totally unsmokable!!! disappointing to say the least, hope the second one is better...havn't tried the others yet!! so the jury is still out on this purchase/not c.i.'s fault : )
Fantastic cigar. This is top down one of my favorite cigars that I hold as high as Opus X, Padron and Cohibas. The only thing I wasn't too happy about was the order of Sosa Churchill's of this brand that is selling as 7x50. The cigar is definitely not a 7x50. But most likely a 7x48....
I used to pick up Sosa's back in the late '90's from their store at Disney World. Loved them then, but not so much with this bundle. They were an OK smoke. Decently made with so-so flavor. I'm sure the product has changed over time, but it could just be my palate that changed.
Got my bundle in today. I was very skeptical because of the price. My monthly cigar and bourbon budget rivals that of a luxury car note. I have humidors full of top shelf smokes from Ashton ESG, My Father, Davidoff, Fuente Opus X, La Glorias and countless others. I've been trying for a very long time to discover a good, inexpensive everyday smoke. Well, I think I just found it in the Sosa Churchill. It does have some construction issues as it tends to come apart a bit, but the burn is fairly even and the draw is nice. Medium body and good to very good taste. Good job CI. You definitely have a winner with this one.
Recently, I reviewed the Sosa Robusto. I liked 'em enough to order again, but when I went back to the Sosa product section I realized the churchills were on sale for $30 a mazo! Remembering the complaints others had about them coming apart, I ordered them anyway. They DO come apart at the cap, but only if you're not careful. I have a very sharp 5mm punch that I use to SLOWLY puncture the cap; too quick or forceful and the cap will slide right off. Take your time and you'll have a great smoke for just a buck-fifty. I'm ordering more!
First, the cigars. Sosa robustos are a good cigar. Flavorful & well constructed albeit a bit rustic. If you consider $2 a cigar very good. Now, if you happen to take advantage of the Bugatti lighter bonus deal, as I did, it's a helluva deal. I got the lighter I'd been wanting for 60% off list AND 20 good quality cigars, gratis. Since I discovered CI I've not gotten cigars anywhere else.
I got a couple in a sampler and really enjoyed them. I like peppery notes in my cigars, and the Sosa delivered as advertised. I will recommend them to my cigar club buddies.
Sosa Belicoso is a winner! Great construction, awesome draw, sooooo smooth. Can't beat the price for this high quality medium bodied smoke. Stock up now!!!
I don't think they are horrible tasting cigars, got a case of the churchills on special, but the are constructed poorly...the outer wrapper is just not done well and it comes apart no matter how gentle you snip the tip or punch it...leaving the band on helps but after that forget about it...if you are like me and smoke it to the bottom, it will totally come apart and leave you with a moist mess of tobacco to hold together if you want to bother...it's a shame because the flavors are rather good for the price. Sosa, please figure out how to wrap these puppies better if you want me to ever buy another case of your cigars again...I have some cheaper sticks than these that stay together without fail...so I don't get why you can't figure it out...
Sosa Belicoso is outstanding. Highly recommended.
I have tried over 110 different cigars/blends over the last two years and after trying this blend from Sosa, I wanted to add my '2 cents' to the Fan Mail group. The construction, smoke volume, and burn from the Sosa's I received was very, very good. The burn was almost razor sharp right down to the nub. I have smoked a number of much more expensive cigars that could not even do that very well. The taste of this cigar really appealed to me...a very smooth, nutty, maduro taste which increased towards the end. And remember, this is a sub 3 dollar smoke. There are many more expensive smokes in my humidors that I would like to replace with these. Thanks CI for bringing Sosa into your lineup. I will be buying more.
I really like the Sosa Churchill...except for one thing. I can't seem to keep the things from coming apart. After only a few minutes the wrapper seems to come adrift at the head and not just one a single cigar, but on every bloody one of the things! I really DO know how to clip a cigar and I've even used a punch, but they all seem to just come apart. I enjoy the flavour, etc.; it's a really nice cigar. I 'solved' the problem by leaving the band on (something I don't usually do) and only smoking it down that far. Without the construction problem, I'd doubtless nub the thing. To show I'm not just a 'one-try-wonder', I'm going to buy another bundle of them and if it keeps happening, that will be it. Pleasant thing to smoke, though.
Got a bundle of these on an E-Mail special. They're quite good tasting, burn even (typically) and did'nt cost so much I was in danger of annihilating my monthly cigar budget! I got the Churchill size. In Synopsis: Real good deal!!
Great cigar it is mild but full of flavor. The draw is excellent and burns even right down to the nub. Thanks Art for introducing me to this great smoke. Regards.
I found these to be very good. Pretty even burn, plenty of smoke, good construction, good taste, never bitter. Satisfying always. I will buy more.
Very good cigar! The longer it rests in your humi, of course, the better it gets. Even burn, nice white ash, excellent draw...it's just a mellow cigar whose flavor I really enjoy. I lean more toward full flavored cigars, but this is one medium bodied smoke that I will buy over and over again; especially at CI's prices!!! No complaints here at all. Good job CI...Sosa lives up to its name!
First time smoking a Sosa cigar. Have to say this is a quality, good tasting and burn even. Taste is sweet peppery, cocoa and down to earth cigars. The price is excellent. Great job CI Nation!!
I am a huge fan of the Sosa brand, when i saw the price tag on these i have to admit i was skeptical. I got my bundle of belicoso size in the other day and decided to try one right out of the mailbox. These were a huge surprise, this price and still this good. I have never had a bad sosa cigar. At this price point i am going to stuff my 120 cap humidor full of sosa without killing my checkbook. Great job CI and sosa! This was a homerun in my book!
Decided to buy the 20 stick bundle of Belicoso (6.0" x 54) because of the "1-day" deal. Definitely not disappointed. Smoked the first one on my commute home (approx. 1 hr). Smoked to the nub (about 1 in. left) as I usually do, and although it had the expected deepening of flavor; nothing overwhelming or excessively bitter. All in all, an enjoyable smoke and I am looking forward to enjoying another when I can pair it with some Glenlivet 12 yr. Single Malt! Thanks CI for turning me on to this great cigar.
These cigars look nice and smell wonderful - very chocolatey. The taste: not so. I tried one the day I got them and the first half was almost unsmokeable. The last half was a little better. I'm hoping that a few months in the humidor will improve them...
