Don’t be blue, get Bahia

Man, I love my job. Not only do I get to chug beer and burn cigars all day long, I also get to deliver unfathomable deals to CI Nation day in and day out. One of my personal favorites? Bahia Blu, a superstar entry in the anthology of competition crushing deals. Yes, truly a champion of the bundled cigar world, Bahia Blu represents entry #12,743 in the CI handbook of MSRP destroying insanity.

Bahia Blu is a medium-bodied handmade from Nicaragua that’s priced to move every day. Dressed in a fairly attractive Corojo wrapper that’s smooth and glistening, you’ll find 5 to 6-year-old Nicaraguan long-fillers grown in Esteli, Jalapa, and Leon. The end result is a rich and toasty flavor with a sweet, cedary core and a crisp, lingering aftertaste. But the best attribute by far? The crazy low price.

Good cigar.
Bahia Blu is a nice mild cigar with a great taste. They are also priced very reasonably. I enjoy them very much and would recommend them to anyone who likes a good tasting mild cigar.

Kind of a tough draw...

A little disappointed
While I understand these are a lower end smoke. The burn on about half of them has been very poor and uneven. Worth the try but I wouldn’t buy again.

Just a so so cigar. Taste was a bit harsh and draw was tight. Smoking too many Rocky Patel cigars has spoiled me I guess!

Bahia Blues
Had tried them in the past. Found that this time I don’t think they lived up to my expectations. Bitter taste and lousy burn. I’ll go back to the Maduro Gigante by Bahia as soon as they come off “back order.”

Got one of these in a recent humidor package I purchased. Cigar tasted fine was extremely hard to get a decent pull off of though. Got about half way through the stick and had to quit because it was giving me a headache.

Some (4 so far) of
Some (4 so far) of the box of 20 have had a bad phermagahyd type taste causing me to toss the cigars less than a third of the way through them. This is unusual for Bahia so I hope it is only a bad batch.

Good mild smoke with occasional tunnelling
Mild smoke throughout with an even burn and easy draw and usually little aftertaste. After smoking a handful of these, 1 in 4 experienced tunneling. Didn't expect complex or strong flavors so was not disappointed in this simple, pleasant, inexpensive smoke. Given expectations and price I would have rated 4, possibly even 5 stars except for the tunneling experience.

A good smoke for the money
Bahia Blu U700 Churchill's never let me down. They burn pretty well, taste great for a budget smoke, and never taste bitter or hot. Can' go wrong with this product for the money.
5 out of 5
Excellent
I was not expecting a very good cigar in this price range - usually they are poorly rolled, if nothing else. But these were rolled as well and tasted as well as much more expensive cigars. Even burn, not soft, consistent taste.

Better than expected
Bought for a friend who doesn't smoke,. Ended up being the best cigar

No complaints.
For the price, I was very satisfied. A very easy and smooth smoke. Great for a summers day on the patio or a round of golf.

Good smokes.
I enjoy the bahia blu cigars they have a little spice and a smooth tobacco flavor that I like. I ordered the churchills this time and so far all of them are wrapped to tight with no draw so you have to poke them to smoke. Once you do that there ok and taste great, I will be buying the robusto from now on

Get What You Pay For
Low price for sure! But after going through all 20 in my pack, my rating dropped a bit on this cigar. I found a handful of them got harsh at the end or had construction issues. Overall, the cigars were okay, but enough of them had issues to knock down my rating. But, IMO, CI has them priced just right... you get what you pay for. Enjoy!

Bahia Blue E652 Torpedo
Great smoke fir the price. Smooth, stays cool to the nub, easy and even pull. Mild but lots of flavor. I tried one two years ago and carried the wrapper in my wallet and when I saw the special I jumped on it. Smoked two back to back while working in the garage- very nice!

Try these
I gave these a try, they were on sell. For the price this is a good smooth mellow cigar I really enjoy. They have a little spice taste and great tobacco flavor they burn a little uneven but no deal to me. I will be keeping these on hand for my every day puff.

First smoked these.over a year ago. I smiled the entire time, got them in one of many deals from CI .These deals are a great way to try something in a smaller quantity at a more affordable price . Great every day stick!
Not a bad stick for the price! Had a little construction issues with a couple of them (they did not like my "V" cutter but did a lot better with the guillitone) but overall I give it 4 stars. Again, got it on sale and is a great every day smoke while walking my dogs. Mild to medium with a good overall burn and enjoyable taste.
3 out of 5
Average at best
Not bad for the course or to give out to friends. There are a good number of solid smokes in the bundle. Lacks that cedar Corojo taste.

Good buy but a little dry
Cigar flavor very good but cigar came a little dry and some of the outer wrap comes loose. Will up my humidor humidity. Shouldn't have to do that

Really Good
These cigars are really good. I got a shipment with a couple five packs of more expensive cigars, and a 20-pack of these Bahia on sale as a cheaper cigar to fill up my humidor. Find myself having a Bahia every time since I bought them, the other cigars have not been touched yet. Taste great and good construction. I recommend them. At the moment trying to think of how to describe them, kind of cross between a Cain and a Partagas, both are cigars I like.

Decent Cheap Stick
I bought these for less than a buck per stick; I keep a humidor at work to share with my friends and co-workers. We never seem to have time to finish our cigars, so I look for bargains on shorter smokes. These are pretty pleasant, though they tend to have some tunneling issues. They smoke better when punched as opposed to clipped. The wrappers stand up, and the draw is okay. Flavor is mostly earthy without much complexity. For a short, cheap smoke it fits the bill. And if I don't have time to finish smoking, I'm not tossing out any significant $$.

Bahia Blu’s
Have again bought these little jewels, not bad for road trips, I spend a lot of hours on the road and they help pass the time. Nice construction, enjoyable mild flavor, burns well. For the price it’s a winner.
4 out of 5
Decent cheap smoke
Bahia Blu in my opinion is a decent smoke for cheap money. Mild - Medium, and pretty consistent in every way. Much better construction and flavor consistency than the Bahia Maduro. Most of the Blu’s start out a little rough for the first 2 minutes, then smooth right out and become sweeter and smoother right to the nub. 4 stars because it is a good smoke for the price.

I purchased these cigars due to the cigars I normally purchase being out of stock at the time. After receiving and lighting one up and taking those first few draws on it I was hooked. What a great cigar, mild and very tasty. It also has a nice burn to it. I highly suggest this cigar as a go to smoke.

On 3-4th cigar. They burn uneven and can be bitter.

Mediocre but cheap
A mild smoke at a cheap price. They smoked good had good draw I didn’t have to toss any in the trash. Some of them had dark splotches but it didn’t affect the way they smoked. The flavor just wasn’t in abundance at all, but I smoked all of them so I guess they was worth the low price I gave.

Not a fan
I had ordered the Bahia Maduro, and loved them. Gave the blu a shot because of that. Very disappointed. Hard to light, hard to keep lit...you name it. Smoking became a chore. Sometimes you gamble and win....sometimes you don't.

On second thought....
I gave this cigar a higher review initially but as I got into the stack of 20 I experienced quite a few burn problems. I'm going to age the last 5 sticks a few months and see what happens.

Absolutely satisfying!
1st try for these.....absolutely satisfying! I call them Mild/Medium. Not as complex as some but excellent all the way to the nub! Definite cedary taste with a mild cedar lingering aftertaste! First one was of excellent composition and burned evenly all the way with a very nice tight ash. I paired it with a good mug of coffee and was completely satisfied! If all are consistent, they could be one of my favorites! I would highly recommend these!

Requires age to become smokable, whereupon they’re not bad
Without age these tasted like very mild cardboard that was vaguely on fire. 6 months in a mason jar with a chunk of cedar and these became very smokable. The burn isn’t great but with a tentative light, it’s manageable. The draw is good, not too tight at all. Not much punch in these but the flavors opened up nice with age.

I really enjoy torching these beauties up, great smoke when your alone and don’t have an hour to spend on a smoke!

Nice price but uneven burns.
Loved the price. Enjoyed the flavor. But, the burn was horrendous. Almost all of them would either burn down one-sided or creat a center burn and become a hotbox. I guess u get what u pay for ;)

Bahia Blu
Fair cigar. Not too strong with acceptable taste. Medium cool and pleasurable to smoke.
3 out of 5
A well constructed cigar, BUT...
I’ve had these before, and they weren’t bad for the money, but this bundle is strong for a medium smoke. Quality sticks can be flavored with leather, roasted nuts, coffee beans, but these seem to be infused with a mind numbing flavor of burnt oven cleaner. But, maybe it’s me. I’ve smoked so many hundreds of cheap cigars, my taste buds are probably damaged by now, but darn, I’m retired, and wish I had the money to smoke quality cigars again.

Taste like an expensive cigar
I got a couple of these in a sampler from CI, I saved the blue capa because I knew I'd found a new favorite. Smooth and great taste. Has a nice bouquet to it smells really good in the wind. 'On sale' means, time to buy.

House cigar
This cigar is so suitable to my taste that I have made it one of the two cigars I always like to have on hand. Just a touch more than mild, good flavor, and not too long a smoke. Suits me fine!

Good daily
Great value for a regular smoker. Easy to share with friends.

Good Value Overall
My sampler stick was surprisingly good. I ordered 20. Some have an uneven burn and taste. But most are good for an overall a good value at a pretty low price. I think CI described these well. I wouldn't be afraid to order them again down the road. My 2 cents...

Better Budget Connecticuts Out There
Was excited when I got these, but they have come up short on enjoyment every time. These cigars have a very heavy and extremely stale cedar taste that never really curtails itself during the course of the cigar. The cigar is well made, I don't have any issues of it falling apart on me. They do however burn poorly. Mine require frequent relights and burn uneven. My enjoyment of cigars with heavy cedar notes is what attracted me to Bahia Blu. Perhaps if I had bought them in Robusto and not Churchill, the staleness wouldn't be so overwhelming and the enjoyment factor would be higher. In my opinion, there are better budget Connecticut cigars out there, John Bulls are perfect example.

Delicious cigar, even if not as strong as I might like, the flavor it had was quite pleasant and moderately complex. Chocolate and wood are my impressions. Very low in nicotine.

The worst cigar I have ever smoked
The cigars tasted like smoking a cigarette they were so bad that I returned them your reviews on those cigars are so far off. I had the same feed back from my friends that I shared These cigars with. We absolutely love the Baha Maduro. But the Bahia boy I wouldn't smoke ever again.

Great Cigar
I was used to getting the Bahia with the red label which are outstanding but I decided to try these out while they were on sale. It has a good flavor at a reasonable price give it a try you might enjoy it.

Expected Better from a Nicaraguan cigar
Poor draw and uneven burn, which stops at the plug. Can't believe that it got a 90 rating. I will not be repeat buyer of this cigar.

OK while lit
DISCLAIMERS: I'm new to cigars, and this came with the Ultimate Humidor Combo (awesome deal). Also, MAYBE my humidor is too moist. I don't think so, but it's a cheap hydrometer and my first humidor so it's definitely possible. FINALLY, my tastes in most things runs to strong/bold flavors, including it seems, cigars. This is not that. SO... Having smoked a few different cigars of various quality (from one of the greats to CI knock offs) I'd rate this a 3 at best in my admittedly very limited experience. My main issue was that it wouldn't' stay lit - that's the first time that's happened to me. Smoke had an oak-y taste from the first draw. Not unpleasant. I only got through about 40% of the stick before i became too frustrated.

I have purchased other Bahia cigars on the past and I liked them. This cigar seems to have bitter aftertaste. I purchased their Toro. It's a very small Toro

Waste of tobacco
I smoked 7 of these so far and 6 have canoed so badly that half the cigar was wasted. I won't even chance having one while driving for fear of hot pieces falling off. I wrote into customer service complaining 2 weeks ago, received the obligatory "thanks for your response, we'll have someone contact you " email and have heard nothing yet. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T BUY THESE. They've been relegated to the "giveaway cigars" category for me.

Excellent cigar for the price!
Fantastic cigar! Very smooth with a great taste. I am very impressed with these. They remind of the Hudson Bay Red Sky. Very happy with these and even more impressed with the price!

Not impressed
Probably my least favorite cigar I've tried. This cigar is mild. I'd almost call it flavorless. Nothing impressive about this stick other than price. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
2 out of 5
Nice cigar but.....
really like this cigar, good flavor and smoke. The reason for the 2 star review is because almost every time I smoke one of these it never goes well. The problem is with the tobacco leaves they used in the filler. The veins are huge, many thicker than a tooth pick. The thick veins burn faster than the rest of the filler leaving a deep hole which causes the draw to be mostly air. I've yet to smoke one of these to the end without having to constantly tend to the burn...sucks, because I've had a few burn nicely and I really enjoyed them. Won't be ordering these again.
5 out of 5
Worth It!
I usually just get this cigar as part of a sampler, but I went ahead and purchased it because of a good deal. It was absolutely worth it! The darker wrapper gives off a completely different vibe as this is a relatively light cigar. Definitely will purchase again if a deal comes up. You'll get a bad one every now and again, but it's a great humidor stuffer.

Excellent Daily
This is an excellent everyday cigar. It's just good enough that you can enjoy it every smoke, and it's cheap enough that you can smoke them almost daily. After about 10 of them I found that Blu has a consistent creamy flavor. The initial light can get a little peppery; but overall this is a mild-medium smoke. A regular cut is the best cut for this cigar. I punched one, v-cut another, but for the most part, the best cut here is the standard one. The first two thirds of the smoke maintain that creamy body; however, the last third brings in some leathery and earthy notes. This cigar leaves mild room-not and does not leave your breath smelling like a dragon. It pairs well with dark roast coffees, Pilsners, and most fine liquors.

So-So.....
Well made, nice wrapper. has a good consistent draw, but the flavor is not there. Slight chemical taste during the second half of the cigar.

Disapointing
My first order was pretty good for an every day smoke. Second order was very disappointing. Very inconsistent on flavor. The first few I had I got about half way through and was ready to throw the rest into the fire pit... Will try something else...

A tough smoke
I was really looking forward to this cigar based on reviews. Flavor is okay but it is a difficult smoke. Also it ran very hot at the end to the point where I was burning the inside of my mouth without realizing it multiple times. I feel like it was a decent value but I won't be ordering it again

BLU HOO..!!!
THIS THING WOULD NOT STAY LIT. I DID NOT CARE FOR IT AT ALL.
1 out of 5
DONT BUT
If I could use less than 1 star I would. The ones that actually do burn long enough to not be annoyed burn down one side only. The last one I tried to smoke wouldn't even pull after one inch. Throwing the rest away. Awful cigar!

Useless cigars
If you are looking for flavorful cigars, pass these by. I have never smoked a cigar so lacking in flavor and aroma. These are not for me. I prefer cigars that are full flavored and have that nice pleasing aroma to them. These things were like smoking nothing, and have no more aroma than a puff of steam. Won't ever buy these again. Same goes to the Bahia Trinidad cigars, they aren't much better than these. The Bahia Maduros, however are very good cigars.

Not what I expected
Came in a sample assortment. Looked good, the reviews were mostly good. I was expecting much better, but the taste didn't jibe with me. It had a bitter, almost sour taste...even though it was mild/medium. This disappointing taste I thought would go away mid-cigar but it didn't. It lasted all the way through -- and got more harsh as it burned on. Not for me.

I normally buy the Maduros but since they were on backorder I tried these. Not the same and very disappointed. I may have received a poorly rolled bundle but these things have so much air when you take a draw is almost pointless. I won't buy these again.

Best Bang for your Buck
You will not find a better cigar for the price , if you are on budget these are for you. Still a very good smoke now they do not match up with elite however they put up a decent fight. The Blu is great while working outside, tinkering in the garage, golf, etc. If you want something with more of a bite try the Bahia Maduro (red label). My humidor always has some Bahia's in stock they are a above average cigar at a below average cost.

These are nice, mild cigars. Construction is very good, a nice clean draw, and a decent taste. I put mine in the humidor for two weeks before starting in on them. I've found the robusto size to be a nice short smoke for the drive home from work, and it's also nice for the morning cup of coffee.

Disappointed
I tried one of these in a sampler and liked it but.....I was disappointed when I bought a box of them. They burned unevenly and kept going out. They also had a mild, but harsh/bitter flavor to them. They've aged for two months now, going to let the rest sit a bit longer and see if the flavor improves.

Decent cigar for not a lot of money!
These are really very decent cigars, and I usually get them whenever CI has a deal on them. I haven't had any issues with construction and I like the robusto size for a good smoke on the way to or from work. I'd received a few Bahia cigars in samplers and after reading some of the reviews I hesitated to buy a bundle. I'm glad I tried a bundle the last time CI discounted them, I liked them well enough that this time I bought TWO bundles!
4 out of 5
Nice stick
Construction has some inconsistencies, but at the price range it gives a light, sweet smoke. Notes of vanilla, cedar, and pepper. It is not a complex smoke but gives consistent flavor and at the price range is a dependable daily smoke. It has never unraveled or quit burning on me but some have cracks and pits in the ash. Doesn't affect smoke and no complaints.
4 out of 5
Good dailycigar for the price.
I have been a fan of Bahia for several years. I have always bought the Bahia Maduro for my evening enjoyment after dinner. Recently decided to try the Bahia Blu and found that it is a good smoke as well. I will always prefer the Maduro since it has been my favorite wrapper for over a decade now. But as they say, variety is the spice of life, so I am going to add the Blu for my midday enjoyment. I guess the Gold is next for joining the rotation.? Maybe for breakfast?

Tha Bahia Blu Churchill, a Great Smoke
After trying a variety of different cigars, I have found the Bahia Blu Churchill to be one of the best tasting and affordable everyday smokes out there. Average Beginner Stick
First off the wrapper is nice, didn't flake off on my mouth too much at all. They are wrapped nicely, not hard to smoke. They are also a good size. The negatives are that I had to readjust for uneven burning 3 times while smoking it. I also found these to be more mild than expected and the taste was not too prominent. It sort of felt like I was smoking air. Would probably be nice for someone who doesn't usually smoke and is looking to have a casual stick for a special occasion, but not good for an every day smoke to stock your humidor with. There are better options for this price. Good but not great.
4 out of 5
Love these cigars
I found these Bahia Blu cigars are the right size and flavor for me. Taste really good right to the stump. Use to be a dollar but now over two so waiting for the right deal before my next purchase.

Just OK..
Just OK.. had some burn issues (wouldn't stay lit, or burning evenly) and it really didn't have much flavor going for it until the last third, and that was a bit burnt tasting.. Might just need some age added to it. But, there are better options in my opinion for this price point.. Shame too, because I really wanted this one to be good.. For an Everyday Smoke, this would prob be great for a lighter body/flavor stick dressed in Maduro. She looks good, draws good, but poor cherry performance and flavor

I haven’t found a more inexpensive more enjoyable I have been enjoying the Blu for over 7 years and have not found a better cigar for the money. Not for me
Got this in a sampler recently. Great construction, nice even burn, and stayed lit regardless of how long I set it down for. Never needed to relight or "touch up" this cigar. However, I wasn't a big fan of the taste. Definitely a bit harsh at times, just not my type of cigar. Good to try once, but I wouldn't buy or smoke this again.

Bahia Blur
Sorry. Did not care for this cigar. Found it harsh with little flavor. Prefer the Mild Bahia. Since you asked me twice to review it.

A great inexpensive smoke...
I did not know what to expect, but, once I got to puffing on one --- a very enjoyable, tasty, mild cigar --- at an unexpectedly low price. Good for late morning or after lunch. Good draw, lots of smoke, smooth burning. Overall very pleased and will continue to keep them in my stock.

Don't Buy Bahia With Connecticut Wrappers, Stick to Bahia Blue
I love the Bahia line. I've tried most of them. I thought that the Connecticut wrappers would be a natural. I was so disappointed. They were not aged properly. The flavor was completely lacking. Stick to the Bahia Blues es. They are always consistent.

Customer Testimonials
found these to be a very nice smoke; good construction, good burn, nice flavors, good sticks at a good price point.
.... been smoking good cigars for many years. I'm 65 and just received a 20 bundle from C.I. 3 day free shipping! Lit one torpedo up; this is the best $4.00 cigar ever and it only cost $1.50. I usually smoke some kind of Gurkha which I love, but this takes the cake for sure. No relight, perfect burn, and I get a slight beer flavor, too. Good!!
I managed to get a Two-Fer deal on the Bahia Blu Torpedoes and I was pleasantly surprised. I normally prefer my ACID Kuba Kuba cigars but these have turned out to be one of my favorite non-infused smokes. They are strong enough to make them tasty and interesting, but not so strong, as to make them unsuitable for people used to milder smokes. The Bahia Blu will definitely be on my reorder list as often as possible. Try them and I think you will agree that these cigars compete with, and in most cases, even beat much more expensive smokes.
Would purchase again!
If you like digging tunnels and love geometric shapes with an emphases on 45 degree angles, you will love the way this cigar burns. At two bucks a stick, the taste is pleasant but, the burn will force you to focus more on cigar maintenance than enjoyment.
I have seen some bad reviews of this cigar. I don't get it. I bought a couple bundles back when they were on sale and have been nothing but pleased, burn well and great flavo
