REO

No speed-wagon included

Many of you may remember the REO cigar released under EO Brands in years past. The cigar, for those who aren’t familiar, was a great medium-full bodied blend, one that consistently performed time and time again. Sadly, REO became a casualty of business disputes. With three different industry titans involved in the making of this handmade, there were simply too many mouths to feed. Partnerships severed, and REO went the way of the dinosaurs. However, it was always the brain child of Eddie Ortega, and finally, he's brought this delicious premium back for all to enjoy.

At hand today is the rereleased REO, back and better than ever. An oily maduro wrapper is draped over Honduran and Nicaraguan long-fillers to create a tasty handmade that can be enjoyed any day (especially at these prices). Pair it up with a hot cup of coffee, or a cold glass of rum, and enjoy the slightly sweet, coffee and chocolate dominant profile. If anything is an indication of how great this rerelease is, it's how quickly the samples "disappeared" from our offices. And let's not forget the best news: You can enjoy these blends at CI for well below retail every day of the week.

Great little cigar
It’s not easy to find a tasty smaller cigar for when you don’t want or can’t spend a hour and a half. The Corona fits the bill for me. It doesn’t get hot and has nice flavors.

Very good ...
I like the oily feel , burns good , and tasty.

An honest cigar
This was definitely better than many other cigars in this price range. Most of the twenty cigars in the bundle had a great draw and burned evenly, four or five of them had a tight draw that was easily remedied with the pick of my Czech pipe-tool. The taste was far better than I expected, with some leathery notes. A bit mild, but very pleasant.

Consistent through the bundle.
The construction on these are top notch. Of the 20 in the bundle, 2 had a tight draw but a day in dry box solved that so just a humidity issue. The flavor is good as well, i would characterize as a medium body. Excellent choice for the Joe's Daily.

Great stick
Great stick. One of my humidor staples. Mostly earth and leather and a straight shooter, no transitions but I enjoy it all the way through. Reminiscent of Bahia Maduro and Dark Shark. Love these.

impressive
After seeing this cigar advertise for 10 years I've decided to try it. The bundle that I ordered showed up very wet, but after drying them out for a few weeks they turned out pretty good. Very nice Construction. The cigar had a very sweet and salty taste to it, then developed into mild chocolate notes. The cigar did hold a very good flavor all the way to the nub.

REO Torpedos are mostly a good smoke for the money
A few out of the bundle were bitter, but most are decent. For a low-priced cigar, they're well made and a decent smoke. The burn and draw is decent too. TIP: If you ever get a cigar that is difficult to draw and don't want to be bothered poking a hole through its middle lengthwise, I've found that a quick fix is to simply roll the cigar between my fingers - being careful not to apply too much pressure or else the wrapper may unravel. A few seconds of this and the cigar draws just fine. That's what I've found.

What A Find!
Bought a bundle of Reo robusto solely based on the description in the catalog. What a find! You get a creamy, nutty flavored smoke with good strength and a nice spicy aroma. As the saying goes "it's all good". Add in the very, very reasonable price and you have a winner. This cigar will be a staple in my rotation. Compares quite favorably to the Punch Rothschild.

Lots of ash, not much cash.
Lots of good reviews for this cigar so I got a bundle in robusto size. The taste/flavor of the cigar is ok, but the burn was a bit sloppy. Lots of ash everywhere. Some of the other reviews said the burn was slightly uneven. But not too bad that you can't enjoy them. I would agree with that. A cigar to smoke in the backyard. Just for fun I'm going to put a few down deep in my humidor to see if they improve with age.

REOs are a very, very nice cigar for the money... impressed!
Not a bad cigar for the money. I first tried the Chairman (Gordo) and liked those. Now I'm trying the Coronas (a bundle) and they're even better... I because they're less "green", i.e., aged a bit more... not sure why... I'm guessing, as I don't know exactly how the tobacco is cultivated, dried, and aged __ and would love to learn! And make my own. I just love cigars... they have a universe all their own! Thank you Cigars International for the variety and quality you offer!!

very good cigar for the price. solid construction with good draw and even burn. A little stronger and they would be great.

Great smoke at a bargain price!
I bought these after reading all the reviews and must say these little suckers have great flavor. I've gone through about 6 so far and each one has been great. starts off peppery with a bit of spice and then smooth's out into a wonderful smoke after a few minutes. Also all have burned evenly and the ash stays put for the most part till you knock it off. This is my first try for the Reo cigar and will become a welcome addition to my collection in the future. For the price these are on par with many premium cigars. I will add that letting them stew for a few days in the humidor helps. the first one I smoked was the day I received them and it had a harsh beginning. After mellowing in the humidor they have become excellent daily smokes with consistent flavor, burn and draw. Thanks CI for this wonderful smoke!

REO,Yes or No???
Med ,with decent flavor of cocoa and pepper, not overly complex.A little lacking in quality of construction, creating burn problems.Still a little damp, may smoke better after couple weeks? Decent yard smoke,on the cheap...
2 out of 5
An unfortunate experiment
Inconsistent in quality and somewhat bland, even when construction appeared good. If you prefer strong flavor and spice, this is not the smoke for you.
3 out of 5
bitter
Not a bad smoke, but not what I was expecting.
3 out of 5
Inconsistent
Not a bad cigar but not on my top ten list. Ordered the 15 pack and got mixed results with some good and others not so. The last one, which I'm smoking as I type, has a smooth draw with good smoke. The construction is not consistent, cigar to cigar, with one splitting when I tried to open it up because it was wrapped too tight. Shared one with a buddy and he wasn't too keen, pitching it half way through. Price for the bundle was selling point, with it also being a maduro, which happen to be my favorite wrapper. Will I order them again? Nah.

So pleased to see the "REO" back on the market! I had almost forgotten it's unique flavor, tons of smoke per puff and overall sweetness. A great 'bang for the buck' will be a standard in mu humidors!!

Can't say enough good things about this cigar. You all can't seem to keep them in stock though...which hurts.

Glad they're back!
I was a fan of REO back when they were first released. Was saddened when they when they went under due to partnership problems. Was very happy to see them return and bought a bundle. They're still just as good as they once were. Great taste and aroma, with a nice slow burn. Ihighly recommend them.

Decent cigar, even burn and consistant wrapper and flavor.
Not the greatest cigar nor the worst. Nice draw and the wrapper stayed intact and the flavor was nice and mellow. A great cigar to have while on the deck building a Sherman tank model. I would order these again as they are a good value for the price. I might have a couple tucked away in the humidor the my next deck appointment.

Well done. They needed some time in the humidor. First ones I ordered were in better shape but these were satisfactory. A little Harsh
I bought the smaller size and it was a bit tricky getting used to the roughness of the draw. Not for anyone who wants a creamy and smooth smoke, but it DOES have a little richness if you're patient with it.

Great cigar
The first time I bought the Rio cigars I was taking a chance, but when I received them I tried one as soon as could after I loading my humidor and I had to have another one right after. After getting half way down on my stash I had to get some more before I run out, so I ordered some more for 3 day shipping so I wouldn't run out and it is at a very good price very good cigars with always keep in stock.

A great blast from the past
I smoked these years ago before the company fell apart and was surprised and delighted to see them available again. Very well constructed and offers a nice smooth burn. Enjoyable anytime but great on the golf course! Premium cigar at a reasonable price-worth a try if haven't yet.

Reo Robusto
The Roe Robusto packs a real punch and is a full flavored smoke. Starts with a little bite and then smooths out to end with tons of power in it's finish. This is a mid range tasting cigar for a low end cigar price. Get'em while their cheap!

Reo Chairman
Good cigar for that price, slightly fast burner than usual cigars in that class.

Mow the Lawn
Ok for yard projects and night time walk with the dog around the block, but that is where it ends. It might be a better smoke with a little humidor nap?

REO- A tasty smoke at a decent price
This wasn't my first box of REO and it won't be my last. REO is a well built, good tasting smoke at a reasonable price. A good every day smoke that doesn't break the bank. Smooth and leathery throughout.

REO Rocks Again
I was a big fan of the original box pressed REO and was disappointed when they went away. With the recent introduction, I had to purchase them to see if they were as good as I remember. They are tasty, not overpowering, and perfect around a campfire. I think I prefer the box pressed from before but would definitely buy the "new" version again.

Great sleeper deal!
Awesome smoke. Easy to smoke, burns even with plenty of smoke. Rich without being oily and stayed cool to the end. This will become one of my go-to's. Can't beat the price, could easily sell for twice or more.

Reo is a good looking cigar with a not-so-good flavor
I ordered these cigars based upon the look and description given in CI. I would agree with everything except the flavor was not very good and the draw was too loose for my taste. The wrapper, construction and smoke output was excellent however. I hope the makers change the blend in the future.

For price, a pretty decent smoke
I enjoyed the first bundle and am expecting a second bundle any day now. Pretty smooth smoke, well constructed but i did notice a few did the chimney bit and burned up one side. I snipped those off and continued to enjoy the cigar. Nice color and after taste.

Very Mild, mild med. at best!
One of the very few times, maybe the only time, I have been disappointed with C.I. and I have been a customer for years. They rated this as med full, but it was a mild at best. Very hard to draw. Really for me, a waste of money. On the plus side, it looks to be very well constructed, nice band, burns even, smells good, a really good looking cigar. But of you are not a mild or mild med type of guy, then I wouldn't even bother ordering this.
