Sumatran Flavor

The folks at One Village take coffee seriously. To them, coffee is so much more than simply a tool to aid in alertness, it’s a passion that connects people. One Village is a Fair Trade and USDA Certified Organic company that supports social and economic sustainability and takes measures to ensure the coffee growers they utilize are fairly compensated and cared for.

Hailing from the northern tip of the island of Sumatra, Ketiara is a co-op of nearly 2000 members, mostly women, who cultivate coffee on small farms in the Gayo Highlands. The roast contains notes of cocoa and hazelnut with hints of herbs and toasted grains and dried red fruit in the background.  The cup comes out medium-bodied and has very low acidity and a long mellow aftertaste. Get yourself a bag today and you’ll understand all the rave about the big body and herbal earthy flavors provided by the distinct Sumatran coffees.
