Not just a girl’s best friend anymore...
When Rafael Nodal and AJ Fernandez set out to create the original Montecristo 1935, they came across a blend that was great, but needed just a little more time to age for the flavors to develop. The original Montecristo 1935 received a '95'-rating as well as being awarded the #2 cigar of the year in 2021, so they knew they had to follow it up with something truly special. And boy, did they ever!
On the medium-full bodied side of things, the Montecristo 1935 Edicion Diamante is an excellent example of how complex Nicaraguan tobacco can be. Three different tobaccos from Esteli make up the filler, a Criollo leaf from Ometepe is used for the binder, while the whole thing is wrapped in a silky hybrid leaf grown in Jalapa. Despite being a Nicaraguan puro, this cigar hits you with wave after wave of cocoa, earth, soft pepper, and creaminess. Do yourself a favor and pick up a box today!
Good news! The Montecristo 1935 Edicion Diamante has received a 93-point rating, as well as earning a spot on the top 25 cigars of 2023, with the review noting "First puffs erupt with pepper, leather and earth, but a steady flow of roasted nuts, baking spices and dark chocolate even out the smoke."
Jet flame in soft flame. Woah..
We all know Xikar makes some of the best accessories on the market. Heck, I see something from them on almost everyone’s desk as I walk around the office. So, when I opened up an email announcing their new lighter that was the best yet, I was skeptical, to say the least. But once the shipment arrived and I got to test it out (lighting up a bunch of cigars is hard work…) it passed every test with flying colors. Introducing the Xikar Hedron!
