Mark Twain

Silky smooth 50-54 ring Churchills for 3 bucks.

In addition to being a true American treasure, Mark Twain was rarely seen sans cigar. The man’s list of positive attributes didn’t stop there - humanitarian, novelist, humorist, scholar, plus world class jump roper and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu master. Just kidding about that part. Mark Twain cigars also happen to bring an extensive list of positive attributes to the table. All smooth and mellow, all tasty, all extremely affordable, all monster Churchill sizes ranging from 7”x50 to 8”x54. Draped in a silky Connecticut shade wrapper and generously filled with an aged blend of Nicaraguan long-fillers, Mark Twain delivers a flavorful, mellow to medium-bodied experience. Notes of oak, cream, white pepper add to a rich tobacco core, completing a mellow but eventful 60+ minutes of your time.

For 3 bucks, these big boom sticks are the ultimate value-priced handmades.

Mark Twains
Smoked 2 out of 5 so far. Start off okay but last third seems to get hot and doesn't smoke so evenly. Taste is smooth and mild. Until the end. I'll leave the last 3 for a while in the humidor to see if they improve. Decent price but have had better for less.

Mark Twain Cigars
I bought some of these last year, and I really liked the taste. But some of them did not burn well. I tried them when they were on sale again this year thinking maybe I just got a bad batch last year. Again, they taste really good, but about every 3rd or 4th cigar has a bad spot or 2, and it kind of ruins it for me.

Nice start
I bought these for friends that visit but not normally smoke or know what an excellent stick is. Smooth, nice burn, good flavors.

Mark Twain No. 2
I have been a cigar smoker for more than 20 years. That means I smoke 3 or 4 cigars a day. So, I take cigars seriously but really can't realistically spend $6, $8 or more for each. It is hard to find a really good cigar for a really reasonable price. This is one. It isn't a great cigar, but it most definitely is good. Good enough to reorder. I was concerned when they first arrived. They seemed a little soft and, frankly, didn't firm up as much as I thought they would with a little rest in my humidor. But, they draw very nicely, burn evenly and have good flavor. That is certainly all you could ask of any cigar. When quality, smokability, taste and price are all considered, this is a 5 star smoke.

You can buy cheaper, but you can't buy better!
This is my "go to" cigar to start my weekend. It is great with my morning coffee and I could smoke these all day long. I like the mellower taste and they burn evenly. These are my favorite for sawing and splitting wood. The best part, my wife thinks they smell nice, and is not bothered when I smoke the rare one in the house! You can buy cheaper, but you can't buy better!

Whats not to like. Great price on these. Leathery, with a slight nutty creme to the smoke. One of my fav cigars, especially at this price point. I buy these regularly.

The Mark Twain cigars are a good value. They are smooth and mild and smoke well all the way to the end, which takes a long time due to the 7" length. I would like to see these in a shorter version.

Very Surprised
Love the peppery taste as well as the size. Can’t get much better than this for the price point. Will definitely be keeping these stocked in my humidor.

Pleasant Surprise
I didn't think I would be so happy with these cigars. I had always wanted to try a Mark Twain, but it wasn't until a very low price offer, and an expiring gift card lined up the stars to allow me to order some. I have smoked 3 so far, and they have been smooth smoking, uniformed burn, with a long ash. My usual smoke is 5 Vegas Gold. I would buy these again, but the 8x56 might too big for me.

Mark Twain No. 2
When my order arrived I was a little concerned that the cigars felt a little soft. A week resting in my humidor helped with that although they have never been a firm as I anticipated. But, the draw and burn have been outstanding. Great flavor. All in all, a really good cigar that I will reorder.

Mark Twain Churchills
Very smooth, slow burning, mellow cigar. I smoke when playing golf and this is one of the best smokes for the course. A birdie among pars.
5 out of 5
For me these were great, value and flavorful
I buy cheap cigars so I don't feel bad about only smoking half, and killing my wallet to smoke cigars. Also ,lifestyle limits my time to smoke. Through the years as my taste has gotten stronger I have moved to inexpensive maduros usually toro size as they are the best value and have a lot of flavor for the money. I bought these because of the description and special price. I am enjoying these very much. For a connecticut wrapper they have a lot of flavor. I was afraid they would be too mild and they were not. I pick my time to smoke them because they are churchills. They burn well. I usually buy bundles because they are usually a better value, and I have my own humidors. These came in areal nice box. I gave it to a friend. I would have preferred them to cost less and skip the box. Would i buy again? Yes, but again, only on sale. I try to be thrifty when it comes to just about anything.

Enjoying the (ahem!) Big One
i can see it now. group of bearded dudes somewhere in the kentucky hills, decide to end each day together with a fine cigar and a bottle of JD. they create a code: "only fine smokes, best tobacco, if your brother's out, hook him up. no one leaves til we're all done. no women. and no cigar bigger than your wanker." You've been warned. Enjoyable. Glad CI brought em to us...but can't help but know i broke the code.

Decent cigar for the money
Good continious smoke throughout. I like to pass them to my friends out on the golf course.
5 out of 5
decent smoke
Not the best but certainly not the worst. Been buying the Mark Twain for a long time. Normally 2 or 3 boxes at a time. When i go out side in the yard or just running around all ways grab a couple out of the humidor. You know how it is. You light up and then 1/2 hour or so you have to ditch it be cause you're were you suppose to be. Never been disappointed from the draw to the burn.

Very light, but perfect for a morning smoke. Fantastic flavor and construction. Actually ordering more after I submit this review.

A decent bargain cigar
I gave this stick a 4. The cigar itself is a 3 or maybe a 3 1/2, but the price is outstanding, so I gave it a bump. This cigar is not for special occasions, or for those times that you want to treat yourself. But, for a knock around, or highway stick, it is a good solid cigar. I don’t do “mixed filler cigars! This is all long filler for the price of a sandwich blend.👍

Decent cigar for the sale price, but I think a little overpriced at regular retail. The bundle I received was a little light in hand and somewhat difficult to keep lit. Flavor was OK. Overall, I thought a little disappointing after reading previous reviews

Too dry
Yet again, another order from this company that upon arrival is just too dry to smoke. Unbelievable. Not sure what's going on but having been a long time customer looks like I'm going to go somewhere else. This is the 3rd order I've gotten that's so dry, when cut, or you punched, the end just crumbles. If you're lucky enough to get through all that, it just blows up like a cartoon cigar and unravels. Ridiculous.

Good Smoke!
As I enjoy anything dealing with Mark Twain, I had to try these #1 Churchill's. I only bought a 5 pack, to see if i would like them and if they stood up to their name- sake. I now wish i had gotten more! Outstanding smoke!

"None better for the price"
As an old literature fan, the name of this cigar obviously struck my fancy. I ordered a box and was hooked from the very first one I smoked. It is a very smooth cigar very reminiscent to the Montecristo White Series. It has subtle flavors of toast and wood. This has been a normal rotation in my humidor ever since. It pairs really well with a hot cup of coffee. The price for these delicious cigars are unbeatable. Must try for any mild cigar fan.

Only 2 of 20 Mark Twain’s unraveled in this batch. Too dry? A couple baddies mixed with the freshest cigars. Forgot how much I enjoy these cigars. Sorry to see new pricing based on size. Same price regardless of size was a great attraction.

The double corona is 7.5 inches long which might be a little too long. I will probably go back to the Churchill...7.0. Nonetheless, I have enjoyed the Mark Twain No 2 and would definitely recommend it. Good taste, very good consistent draw which is what I am looking for.

Glad I tried these
Really nice, very enjoyable, no frills cigar. Nicely made, smooth, plenty of flavor with a little spice. And they are a really good deal thanks to CI! Oh, and some time in the humidor made them even better. I'll be back for more when these are gone.

Poor quality
Poor quality - uneven burn through the whole box - doesn't draw well at all - wrap cracks and peels off 1/3 rd through the burn - constant puffing to keep it lit and gets very harsh while smoking - seems to be wrapped very tight with stems throughout the cigar - will never purchase again

Mark Twain's Smoking Habit...
"It has been my rule to never to smoke when sleeping; And never to refrain from smoking when awake." Mark Twain If you concur with this statement, this cigar is for you! Great morning and evening smoke that provides refreshing flavor, taste, and promises never to disappoint the cigar smoking individual. Wonderful price and truly a pleasurable experience to start and end a day of labor. I have even found enjoyment on a lunch break. "What's your favorite cigar? The one I am smoking..." The Mark Twain is a favorite of mine and hopefully one of yours. Craig in Colorado

Good as a Mac!
When I'm ready to settle in with a Jim Beam and a 90 minute bull session with a buddy Mark Twain is there. Without doubt I rank this right up there with a Macanudo Hampton Court.

decent cigar. i had it sitting in my humidor for about 3 months before deciding to light it up. slightly on the spicy side yet not too much desirable flavor either. very large cigar so not the easiest of draws but glad i at least gave it a try. not bad but not great either.

Nice Overall Smoke.
Just received the box of 20 Churchill's as a gift. I've only smoked one so far, and as of now, it is a nice cigar. Mild and fairly even burning. It started to burn unevenly after about 3" was smoked, but nevertheless it is still good. To be fair, I've had more expensive cigars burn unevenly too, so no big deal. If they continue this trend, I will buy more of them.

I just received my order. Smoked 3 of them and enjoyed them a lot. I usually prefer a milder smoke so these filled the bill very nicely. After reading the reviews for the maduro version my next order will be for a box of them. A great smoke

Mild Cigar
I was looking for a mild cigar to make my go to when wanting a milder cigar. Unfortunately, this one is not the one for me. I liked the size and the flavor was okay. Flavorful at different spots in the cigar otherwise it had none. The cigar I smoked kept going out and I had to continually relight even though there appeared to be a good draw. My buddies cigar burned continuously down till about 3 inches was left and he began to have to relight his. I rate this a 3 because this is an average cigar. Hopefully the rest of the box can change my mind. At this point though, I will continue my search for an above average mild cigar

A Humidor Staple
A consistently good, mild stick for the money. Quality construction. Creamy white smoke for those days that you don't feel like being overwhelmed with a bold, spicy smoke. This is one of those brands that I always try and keep a few on hand. A staple in my humidor.

A perfect reference
It begins tasting like dry, dusty dirt, with little hint of potential. Slowly it begins to obtain a hint of depth, growing to an acceptable experience, if still a bit dusty. One might even call it acerbic, if one was the type to say such things. Much like its namesake, this one will be an acquired taste.

Awesome Cigars!!
I usually prefer a Maduro, Sumatra, or Habano wrapped cigar, but after I got one of these in a sampler pack and smoked it, I was amazed at how flavorful these Mark Twain cigars are... it's been many, many, years since I have smoked a Connecticut wrapped cigar that was this good. The aroma was of a hint of vanilla and toast at the beginning that was very pleasant, and ended with a peppery toasty aroma. I have since purchased myself a full box to add to my rotation.

Mark Twain review
I've bought several boxes of Mark Twain's, as well as enjoyed their inclusions in various Samplers. MT's are one of my favorite cigars and everyone to whom I've recommended MT's agree...and that represents an impressive number of friends. They burn wonderfully, I can't recall experiencing a flaw in either rolling or appearance and their flavor is always satisfying. They're just a great & enjoyable smoke and at a perfect price! n fact, my last purchase was a box of MT #1's. I smoked one yesterday before dinner and I'll have another this afternoon, before firing up my BGE for an Independence Day family cookout. Whatever flavor profile you prefer, you will not be disappointed with what Mark Twain delivers. Enjoy...

Set time aside
While I enjoy several medium to mild cigars and only a few times a month...this Mark Twain is the most even and slow burning cigars ever. Well worth the money but requires time set aside to enjoy.

Great Value
The MT Connecticut has become my go-to golf course cigar. Easy draw (maybe too easy) and lots of smooth, tasty smoke. Consistently well constructed. Little complexity and they don't last as long for their size, but we're talking about a very inexpensive smoke here.

CVG
Mark Twain No. 3, Is as it is advertised a great smoke for the money the taste is mild and satisfying. However as is common with the less expensive cigars the wrapper is exceedingly thin and fragile, as such you must be very gentle with the cigar when handling or transporting same, the individual clear wrappers are a help in this regard. the draw on the cigar is excellent and weight is surprising there is some Tabaco in these cigars. I would recommend the Mark Twain No. 3, to anyone be the a novice or seasoned cigar enthusiast.
4 out of 5
My second review of these
A person will find it hard to critique these cigars in regards to wrap or leaf. There is some slight variance in flavor, but this variance only bounces flavor between good and great. Yes, better cigars can be found, but one would be hard pressed to find better for the money.

I really thought that these would be a smooth smoke, but sadly, they were dry with a bitter after flavor. I realize they aren't top shelf but the Free Cubas I bought at the same time tasted far better. Sorry, CI. You hit a lot of home runs but this was just a bunt.

So much potential
The cigars seem to be inconsistent. The first cigar was very Loosely packed and burned very fast. The next cigar after sitting in my humidor for well over a month the rapper was still brittle. A poor rapper seems to be a trend among this type of cigar. The most recent one that I had, as I live it's occasionally there seem to be hot spots. The cigar would actually sizzle. I love the taste, which is why I ordered another box. However, I just wish that the cigar quality would match the taste.

Enjoyed
I received this in a sampler. I smoke a variety of mild and medium cigars and I had wanted to try this one for awhile. I let it rest in the humi for a week and then took it out to enjoy with the first lawn mow of the season. The wrapper was a little brittle and it broke apart when I put it in my mouth to light. Maybe I should have wet my lips more. Anyway, it was quite tasty. It had a nice feel, lots of smoke, nice draw and an even burn. Not overly complex as the taste was the same throughout. I just did MMAO on a 10 pack.

Taste like dust
I had this in a sample pack that came with my humidor. The cigar was in good shape and not dried out at all. All I can say is if you liked this cigar you must like the taste of dust. Taste horrible in my opinion. But to be fair, I like a medium to full flavor cigars best. I have one more and I might give it another try another time to see if it was just that one.

Easy-going, relaxing
A mild, easy smoke, Mark Twain cleansed my palate after a particularly nasty infused cigar. A gentle oak flavor rests well on the tongue, no bite. Loose, spongy roll, it drops its ash quickly--my only criticism. Keep a few around for those mellow occasions.

3 Stars...for now!
I got this in a sampler and had read good reviews so I was eager to try it out. The one i got was in immaculate condition when I received it, but it was hard as a rock. Literally. I had read that these particular cigars were generally on the "loose roll" side and and most reviews described them as being a bit "spongy feeling" so I was curious about that. Into the humidor it went. Well it's been about 3 weeks and I was trying to decide on a smoke last night and thought I'd fire this one up. Upon inspection, it had a crack in the wrapper at the foot and it was still rather hard feeling. When I cut it, the wrapper came apart at the head, but the binder seemed to be holding up, so I went ahead and lit her up. When I lit it, the crack at the foot expanded and the end of the cigar kind of burst. I kept puffing though...the cigar burned very unevenly at first...but once it burned past that crack it evened out and started to be quite the enjoyable smoke. About 5 or 6 draws later however, the wrapper started coming apart at the head and rendered it unsmokable at that point. I only got a few good draws off this stick. Didn't really get a chance to notice any flavor, but it had a good draw (once it got past that crack) and it was very mild and smooth smoke. I think I'll pick up a five pack of these and let them rest in the humidor for month or maybe two and then try it again. I think I just had some bad luck with the one I got. I'm hoping for better luck next time, because at this price, this would be a good daily smoker...providing the problems I had aren't the norm.

CONSTRUCTION WAS GOOD, draw was smooth, and burnt evenly. While the cigar was a mild smoke, the taste was not to my liking. Probably would not buy again...

Surprisingly good!
Hey I got two of these in a sampler and was really surprised! I figured this was a cheap cigar to fill out the sampler, but I really enjoyed these. Tons of smoke output, and flavor was mild/medium by my scale. Flavor was creamy, not harsh (which I hate), and consistent throughout. Great construction. Definitely worth buying

Mark Twain #1
I must admit I tried this just for the name Mark Twain. Wasn't expecting much, just wanted to try them. Found the Mark Twain to be a extremely good smoke. A mild cigar, but very nice. Feels great in your hand and smokes very well. I will always keep some of these around now.
