Rojo's got mojo!
La Perla Habana Rojo is plum good. I rediscovered this 90-rated beaut recently and welcome it back into the CI stable with open arms. And I'm plying you with heavy doses of discounts to get the party started, quickly. Featuring exquisite materials, including a thick, toothy Habana Criollo wrapper and generously proportioned filler blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos, La Perla Habana Rojo is primed to deliver rich, heady flavor. As it burns, you'll notice hints of nuts, cocoa, cream and a slightly peppery, cedary finish. Medium to full in body, but complex and refined, Rojo will bring a smile to any fan of boutique cigars. La Perla Habana Rojo received an outstanding 90-point rating along with "Best Buy" honors:Dark, oily and alluring, with a superb draw and lovely burn. The cigar is sweet and spicy, with chocolate notes, hints of roasted nuts and earth and a black coffee finish.
Wow, now this is a great cigar. I bought 2 boxes on sale and must say I enjoy each one very much. Buy this cigar and you will be pleased. Good feel, great burn and nice flavor!
I love the Rojo, so when I saw a daily special that offered 10 juicy La Perla Habana Black Pearl Rojo robustos, I jumped. I received them on Friday & put them away unopened until this evening, Sunday. I decided they needed to breath, so I opened them & noticed the band was different. Black around the cameo, but red on each side, which I had not seen before. Removing one for inspection, all seemed well until I noticed the wrapper was beginning to separate from the binder. It appears to be very dry. I am smoking the one that has wrapper damage & it seems to be okay, very flavorful & bold, like Rojo should be. Yet I am concerned to receive a cigar in such a condition & further cannot explain why a different band has been utilized. I am going to let the remaining 9 sticks rest a good while in my humidor before I attempt to smoke them. Perhaps a long cedar nap @ 72% humidity will restore them to their former glory.
A longtime fan of all things La Perla, I recently experienced my 1st Rojo. A big, bold belicoso, that I got for a song, thanks to the discounting madmen @ CI. I must say, this is my 2nd favorite blend from La Perla, after Morado. Rated 90 & said to be their most full bodied blend, the Rojo flavor profile is extraordinary. Hearty clouds of delicious, creamy smoke bellow from this cigar from 1st lighting, all the way to the finger burning nub. If all fuller bodied blends were this approachable, there would be many more people willing to try them. I consider this the perfect blend for those who favor milder flavor, but want to try more full bodied cigars. Dripping with pepper, mild spice, black tobacco & earth, Rojo has great hearty flavor, but is never overpowering, in any way. Inexpensive & flawlessly constructed, I give Rojo a full 5 vitola rating. Highly recommended!
I have got to get a bigger humidor!! The LPH rojo has been a favorite of mine, and even though my two small humidors are well stocked with products from CI, I jumped at the chance to get a box of the toros for only 39.95. Of course I had to fire one up just as soon as I got the box home from the post office, and my first thoughts upon lighting one was THIS IS ONE GREAT SEE-GAR!!! Read the product review, read all the favorable reviews..they are all true..this is one great cigar. I will be saving these for special occassions. Full of flavor, real tight ash, smooth burning...what more can be said? If I had the room, would have bought more at this great price.
This cigar was great after a long day. Great ash and very nice burn. Nutty with a peppery finish. I will buy more and try the others in the La Perla Habana family.
Smoked a Rojo torpedo last night. Nice $2 stick. Very mild with flavors of wood and a slight sweetness.
What a good cigar! My very first Rojo was from the Belicoso Bedlam sampler. I've had boxes of the ... so I wanted to give this one a try. I noted cedar, cinnamon and peppery notes. I'd have to say though the pepper notes seem to dominate the cigar initially but it cools down in the last 3rd and the cinnamon spice takes over. I would surely recommend this cigar.
Solid cigar, I like the La Perla's The black pearl still being my favorite, but this was right up there, very, smooth, a nice burner with plenty of smoke. An earthy finish.
This is one of my favorites and at CI prices, an everyday smoke. Love the dark, oily, veiny wrapper. Gives a nice even burn all the way down.
I think this is a well made cigar with quite a decent flavour and crisp, even burn. I'd call it about a medium bodied smoke with an excellent draw and nice aroma. Overall, a pleasant cigar.
Just finished my 3rd stick. This Cigar is VERY SMOOTH tasting. No harsh after thought what so ever. Draw and Burn are great. It has a full taste without being over powering. Should be tried by any smoker looking to find the best daily cigar available. Rich Hudzinski Coraopolis, Pa
A good cigar for the price. Not over powering by any standards, Underlying mild smooth flavor to the end. Burns well with good draw. Worth a try.
Was gifted a belicoso sampler that included one of each type of the five la pearla habanas and the rojo was surely the standout. Lots of spice that continued throughout the smoke. Many "spicy" cigars hit you hard in the first inch and then fade away...this spice sticks around for the long haul! The Rojo(full) and Cobre(mild) would be the better ones to go after if considering a box purchase.
The La Perla Habana Rojo's are suprisingly good! Nice, peppery taste right from the start that mellows to a nice creamy, cedary flavor. These are excellent smokes for the price!
The "La Perla Habana Rojo", wow!!....what a stick. coffee, nut flavors, leather and a spicy sweetness blended to perfection. A must try for the smoker who enjoys a rich, complex cigar. Isn't that everyone? Jump on it. A real sleeper.
This (Black Pearl by La Perla Habana)is a great cigar from start to finish with a rich velvety smooth start to the spicy notes at the end. Every cigar in the box all tasted the same. Highly recomend this one to all my friends. you cant go wrong
I have tried quite a few cigars and many of them taste the same with a few subtleties here and there. The Rojo stands alone. Firm between the fingers with a zesty pre-light aroma. The first 1/3 is peppery and zesty. The next third is (for lack of a better cigar term) uniquely "tangy". The last third is smooth and fulfilling. The nicotine buzz only adds to the whole experience. The finish is long and the creamy smoke makes this cigar a dream come true. The CI prices are the best bar none. Thanks for the great deals and second-to-none service!
Super tasty (La Perla Habana Rojo)! Bought a sampler and was taken aback by this flavorsome stick. Love that peppery taste on the palate. I'm definitely going to keep these stocked.
