Welcome the highly rated La Palina Maduro.


La Palina’s rich history began in the late 1800’s. Their patriarch, Samuel Paley immigrated to Chicago from the Ukraine and immediately found work as a ‘lector’ in a cigar factory. By 1896 Sam had started his own factory with a cigar store nearby. Sam dubbed his factory, Congress Cigar Company and quickly gained the name ‘Mr. Sam’, a moniker given to him by his factory workers. After Sam’s retirement in 1926 the La Palina brand was all but forgotten, but now, Sam’s grandson has reinvented the brand in a big way. This addition to the La Palina line offers a darker, heartier variety that is sure to hit all the right notes, entitled, La Palina Maduro.

Encased in an uber-oily, naturally processed Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper, La Palina Maduro also features a Brazilian binder and all long-filler Habano-seed tobaccos. Offering billows of thick, flavorful notes with each puff, La Palina Maduro showcases a heady profile of sweet spice, cedar, and citrus, all topped off with a underlying buttery cream nuance. Medium-bodied with impressive balance, this addition to the La Palina arsenal is a maduro enthusiast’s dream come true.

The original La Palina Maduro received a well-deserved 91 rating noting: “Draped in a near-black cover leaf, this Churchill offers plenty of sweet and tangy notes that range from marshmallow and chocolate to sour cherry. Complex and interesting.”

The La Palina Maduro Was one of the first Higher Teir cigars I smoked When I graduated from El cheapo's Over ten years ago. Over the years i've smoked many high teir cigars $10-30 Too many to list. It's affordable enough for an everyday smoke and good enough For any occasion.

La Palina Maduro Gordo is one great cigar. Has a great straight burn with very little maintenance to keep it that way. The draw is easy and never waivers from first to last. The flavor is proof that you don't need to pay $20+ for a smooth tasting and favorable cigar.

Amazing. I have a gentle palate but this is an amazing cigar. Not spicy no burn on palate. Very aromatic. Smooth. Burns was a bit uneven though and slightly tough draw.

Great smoke. Has a great flavor, lots of billowy white smoke, excellent draw. Cigars are consistent and a joy to smoke. Rarely had to relight. Ash stays until you knock it off. A bargain for what I paid for a box.

For the price I paid, this cigar is a winner. Nice draw and full flavor from this well made beauty! I would have given it 5 stars except the darn things like to come unraveled. Maybe a punch instead of a slice is in order. This cigar company has a way to go yet and they do create some dam good cigars! As always the service at CI is great!

The cigar is very beautiful in itself. It looks like an antique in your humidor, giving you +5 aesthetics. The taste you will find varies depending on both size and time you humidify. I suggest going for robusto, humidifying it at 70% for 3-5 days then accompanying it with coffee for +5 on enjoyability. Keep in mind that this cigar is rich in leather/cedar/cocoa/coffee so smoke slow so it doesnt get too harsh. The kick is medium to strong but not overpowering.
