The original La Gloria Cubana Serie R helped to redefine today’s handmade cigars. No, really. Fantastic stick!! I think they have a strong hit of cocoa and plenty of spice that’s pure velvet on the exhale with a superior creaminess. I’m out of adjectives to praise these sticks, do yourself a favor and buy a couple boxes because for the price? They are the best value for a superior cigar.

Mowed my bumpy lawn, took half the cigar and the ash had yet to budge. Well constructed, one of the best burning I’ve ever had. Pictures don’t do the jet black wrapper justice. These things are dark dark and exceptionally tasty. You gotta be in the mood for something this bold, but when you are, it is the one of the few that satisfies.

Absolutely 5 star smoke. Probably my favorite and less expensive than the Montecristo Media Noche or the Aging Room Quattro, both of which are extraordinary in my opinion. Smoking LGC Serie R Black Maduro is an experience with a dramatic beginning, middle and ending. The tobacco blend is marvelous and begins quite spicy and has a bite which mellows after the first inch. Then the chocolaty nutty burned fruit tastes begin to shine and the earthy-leathery flavors pop in faintly then make a pronounced showing in the final couple of inches. Quite a show at matinee pricing.

I received what I ordered in terms of size and quantity. I ordered the serie R maduro because the serie N is no longer available. This maduro, while not as preferred as the serie N, was acceptable. I was disappointed in the quality control regarding wrap consistency for air leaks. Some were too loose or too tight a wrap that affected draw, burn rate and temperature, which affected flavor. Some were very good. Others, not so much.
