HC Series Red Corojo, the other, other red meat.
From what they have released up to this point, HC has gained some stellar reviews including a few 90-plus ratings. This time around, they are utilizing Jesus Fuego's talents with an extremely refined Corojo leaf. Enter HC Series Red Corojo.
HC Series Red Corojo showcases a thick, oily Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper leaf overtop a meaty blend of long-fillers from Nicaragua’s top 3 growing regions. From the first puff, you’re greeted with rich, thick, and spicy billows of flavor layered with delicious hints of cedar, leather, nuts, and black pepper. Medium to full-bodied, Cuban-esque, and buttery smooth...this thing’s got it all.
Great corojo flavor for the price, a few were a little green but overall an outstanding value. These tend to burn a bit quick so I may upgrade to the larger size next time.
These are delicious, perfect construction and burn. Great flavor profile, as you get closer to the ring they build a little in sweetness....awesome stick!
I'm smoking the last third of one right now. I bought a bundle and let me assure you that they are worth way more than I paid. It's a true med - full bodied smoke, maybe more on the full side. I would place this above some of the big brand discount stogies(Tatuaje Tattoo, Illusione Rothchildes) not that I don't like those. I smoke them all the time at my local lounge, but I prefer this. I'm not crazy; it's no Diamond Crown J.C., but I prefer it to a Camacho Corojo any day. I've had no issues with construction either.
To my palate, these are a smooth, creamy smoke and great at anytime of day, but especially breakfast with coffee...
I normally don't write reviews, but I religiously read them before buying anything for the first time. With the HC sticks, there were no reviews online so I took a gamble and ordered 20 of the 6x60 Corojo Red cigars. For less than $3 a stick, I was anticipating a mono flavored, barely smoke-able dud that would at least keep me from tapping into my $8+ stash. Boy was I wrong! After about a month in the humidor, I broke out one of these bad boys and lit one up. The construction is top notch, and the draw is perfect. I puffed away for over 90 minutes, savoring every minute. The burn was spot on - I never had to re light or give a touch up. I smoked the first one down to the nub and thought "all that for under $3?" I'm sold! This is definitely a staple everyday smoke for me. Thanks CI!
