WOW this a wonderful cigar. I had no burn probs or hard draws with this cigar. I must have gotten a well seasoned bundle cause these are GREAT. The taste is mild with no bitterness at all, the ash is nice, volumes of smoke and the aroma is really nice. I've only handed out 1 of these beauties and he was THOROUGHLY impressed as well. Thank you, CI. sarge66.
For me this was a mediocre smoke. The flavor profile is okay, but the burn is bad and it went out very quickly. Not impressed with this Gurkha.
Just got done smoking the Gurkha Legend Vintage 2001 in Torpedo a few seconds ago, and I must say that it was not up to the hype. The burn was inconsistant which I believe was due to the very veiny wrapper. The burn was ok until the first ash from there it constantly needed touch-ups. The flavor was very spicy and had a good amount of strength to it. Only one cut was needed to get a good draw.
Just about one of the best smokes I've had from CI... the first one I smoked out of the Plumpin' Premiums III sampler pack that arrived yesterday. Blew through about 4 chapters of my book out on the front porch with this one... and it was special. Great, even burn, and fine flavors. The chocolate and espresso notes were particularly noticeable and pleasing.
Great flavor. But I experience a hard draw and some wrapper issues.
This is a fine cigar; burned even and provided a nice smooth steady smoke throughout the entire length. I would recomend this stick to just about anyone that enjoys a med cigar.
This is a must try. Case closed. I promised one of the squad leaders in my platoon one when they came in, but as soon as I had my first stick I knew I messed up. Hands down one of the best cigars I've ever smoked. At first puff it kicked me to my seat with a rush of flavors and strength that mellowed out as it burned down, about the last 1/3 of the cigar it seemed like the rush was back for a great ending. Definitely set aside a good 45 minutes and smoke it slow, its well worth it
Gurkha is hands down my favorite brand. I've had so many Gurkhas in the past but somehow missed out on this one until recently. Had the double perfecto and I must say in my opinion this beats everything I've ever smoked even the centurian. Perfect mixture of slightly sweet tobacco with slight traces of mocha and somewhat nutty at times. Never harsh throughout the burn and didn't have any problems with construction. This one has simply made me a Gurkha man for life.
Simply an incredible cigar. A perfect medium flavor that is not spicy, too mild, or too strong. It burns evenly with a good draw and thick smoke. I found myself taking this one all the way down to the nub without even noticing a change in richness or thickness of the smoke. It's a very fulfilling cigar.
Got a 12 pack of the Anniversary (perfecto). These are my introduction to Gurkha. I've smoked 6 of them so far. The smoke output is tremendous, the flavors are unique. The first couple I smoked put off a sort of kerosene scent at first light, which troubled me. The last few have not had that issue. I am not very patient about letting my sticks sit, so maybe I rushed them a little. My only real complaint is the burn. Maybe it's my humidor, but when I get to the middle of the cigar (remember this is a perfecto) the outer wrapper loosens up, separates from the binder and stops burning. I find myself constantly touching them up. Next Gurkha's I buy will be a different vitola.
These are good cigars. The original Legend (now discontinued) are much better, but these are good too. As with all Gurkhas, don't pay MSRP for them, but when you see them on sale or thrown in as a freebie, jump on them.
This is one of my favorite cigars! I love the reddish hue, the nubby wrap of the cigar, and the aroma right out of the wrapper. I've never had a complaint smoking this around non-smokers. Also, after a slight rest in the humidor, these light perfectly and have an incredible draw that keeps you mesmerized. Consistency is never an issue, and the taste is truly 'creamy' with a mild to medium profile. Regardless of my lack of words to describe this cigar, it's one of the most unique sticks you'll ever smoke.
This is one of the best cigars I have ever smoked. From the prelight aroma, to the cool draw, construction, burn all textbook and the flavor is out of this world. It is somewhat out of my budget, and I can't smoke it everyday, but I will smoke it as often as I can. I can't get over how awesome this cigar is. Gurkha fan forever.
Right down to the nub on this one! Excellent Excellent flavor! What a finger burner, sharp straight burn never gets hot or bitter.
Bought this cigar during a Joe's Daily Deal and split it with a friend... what a mistake! I should have kept all 10 for myself. A true pleasure to smoke. Chocolate and coffee undertones, tasty wrapper, tons of flavor. I'm sure these won't last long in my humidor. Highly recommended!!!
