Gurkha Centurian Double Perfecto

These special edition perfectos are so exclusive that the Sultan of Brunei is the only customer - until now.

This limited release is truly something special. Gurkha, of course, is the brand that’s widely hailed as one of the finest handmade cigars in the world, often called the “Rolls Royce of cigars.” And with the extremely limited, Special-Edition Centurian Double-EX, they may have outdone even themselves. In fact, this was originally made for the Sultan of Brunei - a cigar so limited and exclusive that it was commissioned specifically by one of the wealthiest men in the world for his own private consumption.

These cigars are hand-rolled from exquisite Cuban-seed ligero tobaccos grown in the Cibao Valley of the Dominican Republic, aged 8 full years, and hugged by gorgeous, dark, silky Connecticut wrappers fermented to perfection. This combination imparts a rich, very creamy taste with just the slightest hint of spice, and a mellow, pleasant, yet remarkable burst of flavor on the finish. This Perfecto shape is intriguing, a thick 60-ring perfecto that carefully tapers at both ends. Due to the demands of the tricky shape and quantity of aged tobaccos used in each cigar, only the most experienced torcedors in the factory are allowed to make the size, resulting in unerring consistency and flawless construction.

Keep in mind, the Centurian is a limited release, a collector's item.

Brandon of CI reviewed this cigar:
"I bought a mazo the moment they hit our dock (the employee discount comes in handy here!). It's only been about 4 days and I've smoked 10 of them already....I can't get enough! Here's how it unfolds: upon lighting, the draw is consistently a bit firm initially until the burn passes the small opening of the foot. Immediately thereafter the draw is very easy, very gentle. At first, the flavor is reminiscent of many of the best Cuban cigars I have ever had - slightly spicy at the beginning. However this does not last long as the cigar continues to burn towards the thicker portion of the barrel. There is no shortage of smoke which is thick and billowy and almost yellowish in color. The flavor becomes very rich and complex and develops into a full-bodied number by the half way point. This is definitely a cigar best enjoyed in the evening, after dinner and possibly accompanied by a rich Belgian beer or perhaps a nice glass of Port. Awesome! A big quantity of these smokes will definitely find a home in my humidor. A cigar worthy of a Sultan!"

Middle of the Road
Tasted espresso, toast, mildly peppery and a little unsweetened chocolate. Not a harsh cigar, but left room for improvement. Stayed cool until the last three fingers or so of the taper. The stick I smoked had a constant 1" - 1¼" cave which I had to fight.

Great Cigar!
Excellent cigar! I clip the ends just a touch for a better draw. Loads of good, mild/medium smoke. Excellent burn with minimal touch-up. Definitely a do over!

Gurkha Centurian
Very hard to get even burn from start to finish. The last third taste becomes harsh and bitter.

Great smoke to end off your night!
Just finished one. Very nice smoke. Uneven burn but the flavor really makes up for it. Had a nice draw with a medium body creamy base. A bit pricey but wouldn't mind gettting some of these in a sampler pack.

Not at that price
great flavor, but terrible burn. I would only buy these if a great deal comes along !

I'm having more "Special Occasions" now
I bought these for special occasions because they're a bit more expensive than my usual smokes. BUT... they're so yummie I'm finding more and more reasons to celebrate: Tuesday nights... Saturday afternoons... a muddy truck... and so much more. They burn great. Hmmmm... I think I feel a special occasion sneaking up on me now: gotta go!

Good cigars
I wouldn’t want to pay anything like retail, but these are generally good with a few here and there that have burn issues. I’ll buy them again when they pop on a sale.

Great Cigar!
One of the best cigars going. I thoroughly enjoyed every puff, start to finish. Tons of flavorful smoke. Nice even burn with little or no touch up. I wouldn't pay MSRP, but on deals and MMAO, it would be hard to beat this one!

Gurkha Centurian Double Perfecto
A friend of mine gave me one of these cigars to try. I found them on sale at CI and had to have a box of my own. Fantastic smoke!

As with any Gurkha I have smoked - great performance throughout. Nicely balanced and a consistent smoke. Have ordered and smoked multiple times

I hate to write a bad review. I’m sure that there are probably people out there who think highly of these centurions. I am not one of those people. The two that I have had so far were both rolled too loosely and burned way too quickly. They did have some good flavors come through about mid way through the stick but not enough to satisfy. I’ll keep the other four in the back of the humidor and maybe give em another go in a few months.

not good
I bought the discounted 6 pack along with a bundle of ghurka black ops cigars. I had some of these a long time ago and they were good despite the usual ghurka issues with construction. These seemed different. probably due to the lack of the same tobaccos or blending change? All I know is they were not very good and seemed rolled differently as well. I stay away from ghurka as a rule although the bundle of black ops was not too bad. maybe I got a bad batch of these? I did not like them

Horrible taste
Horrible taste, very bitter, almost impossible to smoke. I made a mistake and purchased a whole box. Very disappointed, this is a big stain on Gurkha brand, i think these should be recalled and never offered for sale.

Gurkhas are 'cracking up'.
I used to love these .. used to buy them to smoke occasionally as a 'treat' for myself. Love the complexity. The construction however is simply so bad I can no longer justify spending any money on these cigars. Don't know what happened along the way, but seems Gurkha has just lost the touch - the wrappers crack and come unwound on every single one. I hope they get their act together soon, because these are great smokes -when they stay together.

Great Cigars and Great Prices. Perfect together

Poor construction
My high expectations for this cigar were not met. The taste on these was great but the construction was not. I live in Costa Rica so basically I live in a humidor. Even after a year, when the humidity was about as perfect as it can get for a cigar, the wrapper came undone on almost all of them during the smoke. I did not get the tunneling and burn through experienced by some people, but I attribute that to the humidity level of my cigars. Fussing with the wrapper the whole time was irritating and took the joy out of the cigar by the end of the smoke.

Great Cigar!
Likely the best cigar I have ever had. Burn, ash, draw, and taste are all five star. Wish I could afford this for my everyday smoke

Don’t waste your money
This cigar burned so uneven that by the time I got done I didn’t smoke nearly a 1/4 of the thing! For how much they charge, every single cigar in the box should be perfect

Gurkha Centurian Double Perfecto, great buy
Great Cigar, really love the Gurkha's and the Double Perfecto is a great one, smooth and tasty. Burns really well

Good Taste-But Mediocre as Cigars go
The cigar is hard to keep lit and poor construction. The over flavor was good. Only three stars.

Quite Disappointing
I'm more than half way through the box I purchased a few weeks ago and every cigar so far has unravelled in the early stages of smoking. Now I'm a huge Gurkha fan but this batch has left me very disappointed. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. Please advise. Thanks.

What happened to Gurkha?
These used to be my absolute favorite cigar. Within the last 6 months or so, the roll quality on these has been terrible. It seems to be a pattern with Gurkha cigars in general recently. Most of the pack were not able to be smoked, even after weeks in the humidor. I would wait until they rebound again in quality.

Not so good
Not a very good cigar. Have smoked two. Burn is all over the place. Taste is ok, but no really complexity. I've had 2$ cigars that tasted and burned better than these. Thankfully came part of a sampler and only have one more left in the box.

What Can I Say that Hasn't Already Been Said
One of my favorite cigars. I always try to keep these stocked up in my humidor. I've noticed at even non-smokers are not put off by the aroma which is a big plus at family barbecues. Goes well with bourbon, rye and port.

Not a Fan
I was extremely disappointed with this cigar. I purchase the 12 pak and maybe it was just this shipment as I have never had any issues with any cigars that I bought from CI. I've always enjoyed the selections and great prices. Every one of these cigars burned through the center of the cigar, like a tunnel and make it extremely hard to get a nice draw or even keep it lit. I have a great humidor, use the beads and regulate the humidity around 68. I shared some of these cigars with friends as we smoke every Thursday evening, they had the same problem. After going through 9 of them I just discarded the last 3. It might have been a poor batch, not sure, but not a good experience with this particular cigar.
2 out of 5
two bad ones in a row
I have smoked two after sitting in the humidor for two weeks at 65-70 % both peeled as I smoked, taste good but sorry wrapper took the pleasure away, bad tunneling as well. What is the problem? cost too much for this poor construction.

Gurkha Centurian Double Perfecto
My first love for cigars but we are starting to grow apart. I love the draw from these, the flavor from the tobaccos is tasty. But they all are different in the way they burn & unravel. I wanted so much more from these cigars. Its like a great love you just must let go & see if she ever comes back.....

I am into my second. Never give an opinion on just one. Burn is bad, typical Gurkha. The taste is foul. I don't understand how anyone could like these things.
2 out of 5
Construction issues
So far I have smoked two of these and both of them fell apart about 1 inch into the burn. I am not impressed with these sticks at all. The flavor is not terrible but they have not lived up to the pricing of this brand at all. It's a shame, I had high expectations.
3 out of 5
Great Taste
Too many non-differentiated Gurkhas out there, tastewise, so it becomes difficult to pick one -- but this is the best Gurkha I've ever had, tastewise.

I Keep Going Back
The Centurian is lake an old girlfriend. When I was first introduced to her years ago... WOW...The Sultan was right....Taste...Shape...Expeirience....Construction....Amazing! Then over the years things began to change. What set it apart from the others started to get compromised. Sometimes it has a benzine taste, it splits or unwraps or it burns uneven. But just like and old girlfriend, I keep going back, hoping that it will be, as it once was..............................

Gurkha Centurian a must smoke.
Absolutely my favorite cigar. Better than any cuban cigar I have ever smoked as well. Amazing flavor, even draw and just wow of a cigar.

Great cigar
These are my favorite. The first group I received was very good. So I bought a second group. These tend to peel or unwrap during smoking. A little disappointing but overall great cigar.

Gurkha did it again
Great taste, long burn, great draw. They only downside with the double perfecto design the burn isn't razor sharp or I would give it a 5 star. I still rate this excellent cigar a 92.

Patience is a virtue
I am a fan of good fermented cigars, and I have seen a lot of bad reviews by some guys on this sight, but I will have to agree with one of the reviews by a guy named Lee. You need to put these in the humidor for a few months or more, and it will take care of your complaints on the wrapper, and canoeing. I was a guy that wanted to light them up when I got these shipped to me, but all good things must wait.

Gurkha Strikes Again
Smoked the 1st two and were needing a little humidor aging. But were a great even burn

Beautiful cigar
Nice figurado, mild and smooth smoke. A couple are almost tapered too much, I have had to cut the tip back after smoking it a bit. Can't beat the value, though.

I like 'em!

A big dissapointment
A big dissapointment. They fall apart. They don't stay lit. Overpriced. The Sultan wasn't very particular about his cigars if he ordered them twice. Try a Partagas 1845, or a Romeo y Julieta 1875, or just go for a Arturo Don Carlos or Hemingway.
4 out of 5
Not bad
Great cigar. It needs no cutting. It pulls better than many "regular" cigars. It starts off very easy and with plenty of smoke. Once it settles in the middle, the draw is near perfect while the taste mellows out to a very comfortable experience. The only drawback is that started to unwrap on me, but the burn kept its evenness throughout. My wife bought this smoke for me, and I appreciate this different shapen overall on this late afternoon.

Truley Perfecto.
This is an expensive buy, but is worth it when you want a top-notch cigar and are willing to spend a little more to get it. A rich, medium bodied cigar, it smokes well right down to the nub. As with all the better Gurkhas, it doesn't leave you feeling as if an army bivouacked in your mouth the next morning.

Gurkha Centurian Double Perfecto
I am a novice cigar smoker, so I have been trying a variety of cigars. The Gurkha Centurian double perfecto was a pleasant surprise. It is the best so far for me. It was very smooth, nice slow burn and no after taste at all. I will be ordering more in the near future.

Looks like I am not the only one with construction issues
Great tasting cigar, but it burned really uneven and the wrapper started coming off. It required way too much attention to keep it going. I am going to let the rest of the ones I ordered rest in my humidor for a few weeks and see if it gets any better.
5 out of 5
Awesome shape, taste amazing
Well, kept them in the humidor for 10 days and then i smoked one. Really soft and light in terms of weight. Burns great and uniform. Taste is creamy, nutty, medium body, a bit bitter at the end. Excellent smoke for people who don t like spices or full body cigars.

Ghurka Double Perfecto Centurian
Superb taste!
3 out of 5
Bought through MMAO, fairly cheap. Got what I paid for. First two were very harsh in the middle, third one a little better after two weeks in the humidor. Many better Gurkha options in that price range.

Overall enjoyable smoke
Very enjoyable smoke. Has a tough time with unraveling.

Darn good smoke
The Centurion is a darn good smoke. The more I smoke Gukha, the more I like them.

What a hype
Taste, I think, is good, but the burn issues make me think twice about pulling one out of my humi. A buddy of mine once remarked "it looks like you're smoking one of those exploding cartoon cigars" and I agree. The wrapper ALWAYS comes unfurled and so many canoes that I could host a regatta down the river. When I bought these I had read the "gurkha is a hype brand, overpriced and under-quality" and I've got to say I haven't seen evidence to the contrary. Had I paid the "300+" MSRP on these I would be super peeved.

the worst Cigar for the high price
the worst Cigar,it peeling the outer leaves falling in part, hard like a rock,no draw at all,I trow the Cigar away, what a Waste.

Very Good cigar. ..enough with the silly descriptions
I'm not a big believer in these descriptions of cigars having hints of nuts, earth and leather (take that belt out of your mouth)..however, I was never a big fan of gurkha anything, but these centurians are very mellow yet profound, and rich tasting. Worth a try. .
2 out of 5
Not for the price
Got a single in my sampler assortment the wrapper came of 1/4 of the way in to the smoke. Had a decent taste of pepper and smoke notes of a liqorishy flavor. If the wrapper wouldn't have came apart might have been a pleasant smoke. I'd stick with a Hemingway perfecto any day over this.

Gurkha Centurian
My new favorite! Love the rich creamy flavors from start to finish. Nice subtle flavors of spices and nuts with a very mild kick at the end. A great smoke from start to finish and pairs well with anything from a fine scotch to a crisp lager!

Wait for Perfection!
This is about the Centurian not the style. I bought a box of 12 box pressed XO about 10 months ago and after waiting a week to have one I was not impressed....but hold on. I left them there for 10 months and one day decided to have one as a yard-gar and whoa... hold on. They needed some time! I damn near chain smoked the box and hell no I aint sharing. Maybe they needed age and humidity, who knows but they are fantastic now. I keep these on the same shelf with my JC's, Opus, Master Blends, Litto's...etc. Get you some and if you dont like them at first let them sit and age a bit.
2 out of 5
Gurkha. Smoke one of these and then follow my sugestions and then smoke it. You just may have a winner.
The Centurian does look like a good cigar and does have a good taste. The problems are that the torpedo style isn't working. The leaf used to wrap the cigar is EXTREMELY thin and unravels after the cigar burns for two minutes. Then the paper unravels and the cigar starts to canoe (burn unevenly). It really is an unpleasant smoke. I believe that Gurkha needs to double or triple wrap this cigar and that may solve all of the issues. One last thing, maybe add a little oil to the wrapper may help it as well. But definitely the added wrappers needs to be done. I gave this cigar a 2 because it looks good and has a good flavor. The wrapper, uneven burn, and price brought it down.

this one will make you stand above the regular cigar league.
Real man buy real cigars, there fore these are real cigars. the smell and the structure of this cigar will make you stand up in a different level. people will ask you, what are you smoking? what is that? it look's arrogant & fancy, where are you from? this cigar i really recommend it to all cigar smoker.

Ok taste
Sultan of Brunei must like cigars that do not burn right. Maybe you have to soak them in oil for a proper burn

Just a fine cigar... Period!
Had one of these come in a sampler pack (CI All Star Summer Sizzler ) which by the way is an excellent deal. Anyway, so this beauty is one fine stogie. Great flavor, smooth draw, very well made cigar. I'd pick up the deal now but I just got another order in and my wife would kill me if she knew I placed another order, so I'll have to wait to get more of these. You will not be disappointed at all... Get some!

This has become one of my favorites. This baby has everything a cigar smoker wants in a cigar. Can't get enough of these.

A Must Have!
“WOW! I received one of these beauties in a sampler recently. I read some mixed reviews, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a pure pleasure to smoke. It was silky smooth, with a beautiful dark, naturally fermented wrapper. It did not burn evenly, but had a solid ash, and the smoke was thick and billowing. It was a true full-flavored cigar that was not over-powering in strength. The dominant flavors were cream, coffee, leather, and spice (pepper and nutmeg). With hints of cocoa, cedar and nuttiness (creamy cashew). The flavors were consistent and smooth. I paired it with water to experience it's natural smoke, but it would have paired nicely with just about any beverage. If you haven't smoked one of these yet you REALLY should! A must have in any humidor.”

Well presented, consistent, flavorful cigar at a bargain price
The Gurka Centurian Double Perfecto has become my go to cigar. It's a really well presented, consistent, flavorful cigar. Nicely rolled, even burn, generally with an even draw. If the draw on a particular cigar is a little tight, I clip about a quarter inch off of the draw end, and its just right. Creamy with some spice, a little pepper, but not enough to bite. I've had somewhere between 60 and 100 of these cigars. When I offer one to a friend who hasn't smoked one before I always get a positive response. Generally they think its an expensive cigar. At the great price that CI makes these fine cigars available, I share my stash of these double perfectos regularly.
Customer Testimonials
These are easily my favorite cigar! Got 12 gars for 35 bones through MMAO. Thanks CI!
Twelve Gurkha Centurian Double Perfectos at $3 bucks a piece??? That's right...twelve Perfectos for $36 bucks! Probably my best "Make Me an Offer" deal to date.
Tasty cigar, but I've never had to work so hard at keeping one lit. To be honest I've had better smokes at half the price.
....I finally smoke it to the nub. The aroma has it's own like no other cigar. The burn was alright. The taste was fantastic. I really feel this cigar one of the best I've ever smoked.
Smoked my first Gurkha Centurian Dbl. Perfecto last night. I have to say that this is an excellent cigar! The spicy note was balanced perfectly, not over the top, but always there. It had a great lingering aftertaste as well, also well balanced. Will be moving this one up on my list.
This cigar is one of the best in the Gurkha line-up. The longer you puff, the better it tastes! The presentation lives up to the great tasting cigar. Centurian is a great cigar.
Amazing cigar. Beautiful wrapper and very pleasant aroma. Taste of wood and cream at the start, becoming strong about 1/3 of the way in. A little spice at the half way point. Plenty of smoke throughout. Somewhat uneven burn, but not enough to be an issue. Great taste all the way around. I can not describe the taste at the end. Unlike any other cigar I have smoked. Very pleased.
Don't have a sophisticated enough palate to detect all those exotic flavors like some guys can, just know it TASTES GOOD! Has a nice thin burn line on the wrapper which I understand means that it's very fine tobacco. And a perfect draw down to the tiniest of nubs, to just before my moustache would go up in flames! And lucky enough to purchase a Daily Deal 12 pack with great savings from the regular price.
Don't have a sophisticated-enough palate to detect all those exotic flavors like some guys can, just know it TASTES GOOD! Has the thinnest wrapper burn line I've ever seen, which I understand means it's the very finest tobacco. And since I was lucky enough to get them as a Daily Deal, only had to pay about 67 cents/in.($3.99/6) vs. $2.50/in.($15/6) at full price. Perfect draw down to the tiniest nub. just before my moustache would go up in flames!
In my opinion these should be dry boxed for a day before smoking, reason why? When I first received them from CI I smoked one right out the box and it had no none nada pulling problems it was perfect from the first light down to the nub. Can't believe the price I got them, I just got to looking at the website and their back to full price again, neways great cigar great price.
This is the best cigar I have had in a long time. The flavor and draw are incredible!!
Man O' Man these cigars are awesome smokes. I go gaga over them. Mind blowing to say the least. Could very well be the best cigar I have ever smoked hands down! I know you will love them too.
i have tried a pack of these centurians along with other gurkha stogies and i can this about all gurkhas i have smoked. they unravel and split easily, and have never had one that didn't burn evenly. any sampler pack that has a gurkha in it i ignore. don't say you weren't warned.
Tasty. Got these on a deal. Smooth and flavorful. Changes in intensity throughout. Never a dull moment.
I was wary of the hype, but I have to admit the Centurian lived up to its reputation. The creamy flavor was absolutely delicious - I couldn't put it down. I considered stopping when there was one inch left, but couldn't do it - I kept smoking until I couldn't hold it any longer, with my fingers burning and the draw so hot it singed my lips. Limited edition? I'm stocking up!
Just had the Gurkha Centurian Double Perfecto for the first time and I have to say it lived up to description and more. Once again I did not want to toss the little nub that was left at the end of the cigar. This is right up there with the best I have enjoyed from CI. "go get them people"
Ok, so the last Gurkha I had was a Gurkha Beauty. A very mild cigar that did not impress me in the least. I just tried the Centurian and I have to admit I really like the bitter chocolate and coffee flavors. The only problem I would say is the same thing one other person had written. The Cigar felt soft in the middle before lighting. It started tunneling right before the soft line down the middle (Which I anticipated). I was worried that it might ruin the burn and I would have to toss the cigar before the halfway point. I was wrong. I touched it up and the problem fixed itself. At that point the wrap started to undo itself as I smoked the cigar down but never unraveled to where it ruined the smoke or the flavor. I did not have to baby the wrap but it was still undoing itself as the ash moved on. Overall I give the cigar a 9/10 in flavor (Although I would have preferred a little sweetness). Construction I would say maybe a 6/10. For a high end cigar there is absolutely no excuse for this. In this case being that I have seen other reviews with the same problem I will prefer to just stay away from this cigar. I would not turn one down though if someone offered me one^^(I love coffee and chocolate flavors). I don't mind paying a high price for a well constructed good flavor cigar.
Wow! Wow! Wow! To say this is a fine cigar is an understatement. I have not smoked a finer cigar since the Habano Partagas Series D and that cigar is a blockbuster from Cuba. This cigar is a titanic and if you have smoked many cigars you will extremely impressed. Right out of the box this was special. I can't even imagine what a cedar nap will do for these bad boys. At 30.00 a cigar well it's still worth it for a special occasion but for the outstanding price of 15 for 50.00 it's like getting a Lamborghini for a Hyundai price tag. Hide these from the neighbors. You will smoke it until you burn your fingers and then shed a tear that there's not more.
The construction of these cigars was not impressive there were noticeable difference in the shapes when compared this however did not affect the smoke. The first draw on the light had flavors of leather, toast, and cream, the first third continued these flavors with a very mild body. then the flavor simplified to almost completely cream, which I dare say was almost boring. luckily after the halfway point these flavors of leather, toast, and cream rebalanced with the addition of a nutty hint. overall it was a good stick, but very mild.
I bought these in a special sale several months ago. One of the best cigars I have had. When I went back to order more at the regular price I nearly choked at the cost. After several more months they have come back on sale. When you can save a $100 bucks over the CI regular low price you know you are getting a good deal and a good smoke. I got three bundles of 15 and will regret not getting more.
Another internet Gurkha Double Perfecto special deal...You Guys are killing me! I Love these things. Im pretty sure there is enough room in the Humi right next to the San Cristabols. you guys are awesome! Thanks
My favorite. Discovered on deployment and have kept some my humidor always on hand for a favorable moment of complete relaxation and enjoyment. Quite the smoke. Only had one that disappointed and one that lost the staying lit battle in windy conditions. For a starter it was a good 'hook' kind of like getting that great golf shot on the last hole after a horrible round. A can't miss and best to buy in the discounted sampler packs. Don't pass up on this one!
One of Gurkha's best tasting cigars . However, the wrappers crack even when in a humidor for 4 weeks.
The sultan of Brunei must have more money then brains. A guy can find a better smoke at half the price all over this website.
Such a glorious cigar... It just smokes so smooth, draws perfectly, and tastes amazing. I look forward to smoking the rest of these bad boys.
This is one of my favorites! Smooth yet rich with excellent texture. I would recommend this to anyone, rich and consistent down till the last pull. i have to say the flavor increase near the end is exquisite.BUT First cigar had trouble lighting, after that the rest were fine.
This is a very nicely rolled cigar. No need for a cutter. Im not really a fan of perfectos because they take a while to get going and to get to the power band of the cigar. This particular cigar is mild and simple well constructed and uneventful A good golf, boating or activity smoke. Leave it at that!
The where a great smoke right out of the pack! I cant wait to get me some more..should have save a few...
Gurkha Centurian double perfecto is a mild to medium bodied smoke. Flavors are a one dimensional creamy light tobacco, leather, and hints of nutmeg here and there. Construction has been a hit or miss with times of plenty relights and touch ups. Finish is semi long. I rate it a 89 when it's flawless, and a 84 when it is problematic. Overall, I'd take the 125th Anniversary over the Centurian.
Simply put; at retail, not a chance, at CI's great discounts, you bet. Keep your eyes open for deals because you know these dudes will have them.
Great item. This is an order that I made because I bought the Gurkha Gorge-fest sampler and got six of these puppies. They were so so tasty that I had to go out and get more. So even before finishing the original six, I bought another twelve for safe keeping. Highly enjoyed, highly recommended.
This is one of the most fantastic cigars I have ever smoked. It has a smooth, full flavor to it and is delicious down to the last pull. I greatly enjoyed this smoke and plan to order more of these in the future. Maybe I will get a whole box next time.
Love these. Burns evenly and slow. Very nice draw and aroma.
Bought a few of these recently and had my first one today and WOW! This cigar is absolutely perfect from start to finish. I found myself having a hard time putting it down even though there was literally nothing left to smoke. Great cigar and even greater flavor. Glad I bought a few and will definitely be stocking up on these.
These cigars were my first double perfecto shaped smoke. Excellent draw, exquisite taste, and magnificent aroma. Completely worth trying these sticks out.
Found this cigar in my Gurkha sampler pack and WOW, it takes your breath away from start to finish! Remember..."Life is too short to smoke cheap cigars !"....
These are legitimately great! Probably the best Gurkha I've had. As pretty of a cigar as you'll find - perfecto shape and reddish wrapper. Excellent draw, good construction, and terrific and slightly sweet flavor. Really hope these end up being regular production instead of a limited release.
I'm not usually one to write reviews....but I bought this double perfecto as a part of a 5 star sampler pack and I have to say, out of the CAOs and Toranos and this being the first Gurkha that I've smoked of the batch of 15 that I bought, Centurian has done away with the competition. I'm in the midst of sampling and seeking a cigar that I can feel proud to buy in bulk and though I'm not done with my samplers, I have to say, this one sent me to my computer simply so that I could write this review.... I'm astounded to say the least. CI, I thank you from the bottom of my charred lungs... The smoke had some flavor to it of which I cannot describe, but the after taste is still lingering. The burn was strategically even and I was enjoying it so much. that I just so happened to smoke it TOO slow, causing me to have to relight twice, but I can't complain a bit. I've never chewed on the end of a cigar before, but prior to putting it down, I took a bite out of the end just to savor the flavor one last time... (that's not to mention that I could not keep myself from gnawing on it from time to time during the process...) I don't know how I'll afford it, but I'm definitely stocking my humidor with some of these delectable beauties (Gurkha Centurian Double Perfectos) sometime in my near future, even if I have to conjure the money up out of thin air... They're just that enjoyable... Not just good... ENJOYABLE...
Greatest cigar ever made. From the mild start to the ever flavorful center to the robust finish. What an experience.
These cigars are excellent, I've never smoked anything quite like it. It has tremendous depth in terms of its flavor profile, and as the cigar burns, the profile continues to evolve. My favorite Gurkha by a long shot. When these are on sale, don't be left holding the bag. Buy these and you won't regret it.
Was given one of these by a guy in my unit not knowing how it would be. When I smoked it I thought it was one of the best cigars I have smoked. We sat out after a long day of work and smoked. Didn't want to put it down.
It's not just a smoke, it's like a holiday. It blooms into a full smoke with the best of Gurkha flavors.
This has got to be the most inconsistent cigar I have smoked. I got two with the Gurkha Total Carnage No. 2 in mid-October and 6 more with the Gurkha Gorge-Fest XLVIII at teh begining of November. I've had seven and every time it's different and most of he time that hasn't been good. When the taste is good, the draw is too tight. When the draw is good, the cigar has been harsh. I had one where the wrapper cracked. Relights. uneven burns, the list goes on and on. I have one remaining and I'm not overly optimistic about that one. Unfortunately what is probably a good smoke has been everything but that for me. The Sultan can have them.
Just got my centurion's in today. I must say I was a little disappointed when the wrapper came apart about 1/3 the way through. A very good cigar I'm hoping that the wrappers just dried out during shipping. Kicked the humidor up some to see if it softens the wrapper up a bit. Other than that, a mighty fine cigar that will be stocked if the wrappers don't keep falling apart.
I tried my first Centurian this evening while enjoying 3 fingers of Makers Mark and a beer. I have to say I was disapointed, It did not light very well at first I had to cut the cigar back a bit then I got a decent light and acually a decent smoke for about 30 minute then it started to burn poorly and got a bit harsh, I normally enjoy a milder cigar but this one was acually pretty good untill about half way through then it tanked. I have 5 more to try out so hopefully this was just fluke and the rest will change my opinion.
I recently bought the Gurkha Gorge-Fest for the second time, which is a fantastic promotion and hope it stays around for a long time. I ordered the Centurion in the first batch, and it instantly became my number one favorite!! Just got in my second Gorge Fest order..bought three new cigars I had never tried before, but the first one to burn had to be the Centurion, and it certainly disappoint me. I plan for this to be my regular Saturday night and special occassion cigar.
I rank this as the best cigar I've ever smoked. My father, my best friend, and a co-worker, all of whom are regular cigar smokers agreed with me that this is, indeed, the best cigar they've ever smoked. It's strong, sweet, and constructed exceptionally well (a Gurkha trademark). A real treat at any price, especially CI's.
I had my first Centurian Double Perfecto a few years ago, before I knew anything about them. It was so good that I gave one to a friend to try and he was impressed with it as well. Fast forward to today and I don't give this cigar to anyone who isn't an experienced cigar smoker and a good friend! The Centurian Double Perfecto is the best non-Cuban cigar on the market. If you do your homework, you can get some outstanding deals on these cigars in some of CI's sampler packs.
Tastes great, especially at the nub. But I dare you to try and get one of these to burn evenly.
I have to say, this was an impressive and flavorful smoke. Purchased these as part of the Flawess Figurados sampler and smoked one after a week in the 'dor. Was very disappointed that the first stick arrived with the wrapper completely unraveled - something I'd expect from a much cheaper stick. For the price I think this is inexcusable. The second stick was better constructed though the burn was uneven at times. Still, I'd have to rate this as one of the best cigars I've smoked.
I grabbed 3 of these in the 15 Fabulous Figurados sampler and I must say they don't disappoint. Like the staff review states, it's a little tight on the draw for the first 5 minutes, but once you get the foot burning it's as smooth as silk. The burn is spectacular, the ash tends not to fall off unless you force it to. For a darker wrapped smoke it's really not too strong. I'd recommend this perfecto to anyone who smokes cigars, whether your a seasoned smoker or a newbie looking to whet your palette. If I had to give it a # rating it's a solid 95!!!!
Absolutely exquisite! After 6-9 months rest in the humidor this stick is amazing. Perfectly constructed, traditional shape and flavor, and with CI pricing it is a great smoke. Strong but manageable and enjoyable.
A well made cigar that filled my mouth with smoke on every draw. However, I make no excuse for my likes and dislikes since were all not the same. This cigar came in a sampler pack that I purchased, and I was glad to have the chance to smoke one. That being said, while the cigar is a masterpiece in it's construction. It is not one I would purchase per pack, box, or only one. This is not a smooth smoke no matter what any one tells you, unless your definition of smooth is a strong robust cigar. The 12 pack of Gurkha Empires I purchased, are as strong as I like a cigar to be. The Centurian packs a much harder punch, but I smoke it all the way down just because I am not going to throw the money away that I spent on them. If you want a well made, full of smoke in each draw, full bodied cigar, then this one is for you. For those that stay on the moderate to the edge of robust, but the Oliva G instead.
just received a centurian 5 pack from the daily deal. couldnt wait to smoke one. The draw was very hard and i had to puff like a mad man to keep it lit. had to touch up the burn a bit. other that that i liked the cigar and everything was good. Im going to let them rest in my humi for a couple of months and see if it helps.
My favorite cigar. Big flavor, smooth draw, burns cool. Beautiful construction. Just about perfect.
my good friend gave me 1 for Christmas and i LOVED IT! usually i'm not a fan of perfectos or torpedos but the tobacco more than made up for it. almost needed a roach clip to finish it off. too bad i can't afford them but it was surely a welcomed gift.
I was expecting the world with this cigar but I was not fully satisfied. I love Gurkha cigars and this is a decent cigar from gurkha but not their best. First off, I had this in my humi for about three months. Idiot proof lighting but I had to relight it several times. Flavor was nice and earthy with a peppery profile. Med-Full body. Nice ash with even burn but not worth spending 13 bucks a stick. I would rather spend the money on Graycliff turbo or montecristo #2. Overall I would have to give it a 7.5 out of ten. Who knows maybe I got a bum stick. I have several more in my humi and with a little more aging they might be better.
Hey gang!Scored a few 5-packs(Gurkha Centurian) with the Pad.Miami& Graycliff Turbo with each pack,C.I. you really value your customers! The Centurian is everything Steve-O and Brand-O say they are.Smoked one the other day and this cigar just took me to another place-a good place. No need to go over the details but I must say,the last 2 inches had the strongest caramel flavor I ever had from any cigar. Will put the rest away for a long nap.K. Hansotia is an amazing craftsman-as always Thanks C.I.
This is one of my all time favorite smokes.... something that I must stockpile!
One of my top ten. So earthy it's like smoking a handful of rich soil. The perfecto lives up to the name, I shave just a little off of the cap for the perfect draw, and the tapered foot lights up with minimal effort. Builds in flavor as it burns down past the largest section, finishes full-strength.
One of the best Cigars I've ever had. Smooth with no hint of sharpness, just a little slice of heaven all the way to the nub. I got some of these in a sampler pack deal and am always out on the lookout for more. You simply cannot go wrong picking this cigar.
I usually like Gurkha, however these figurados had a problem with bursting in the middle. The two I smoked had the same problem. I like my other Gurhkas, especially the small batch blend.
Wow gave this to my friends and boy was it a hit. Mellow to start followed by some spice and flavor then mellow till it burned my fingers. One friend set the Centurian as his new bar 9.5/10.
This is one, complex, bodacious smoke! Should have ordered 4 of these instead of 1. Hopefully it will come back. never had a smoke that changed 3 times on me. Starts off mellow, picks up some nice strength, then mellows toward the end. Amazing!
Gurkha, the name alone grabs your attention. Right off the bat, you know you have one of the best quality cigars(Gurkha Centurian) in the world. That's enough for me.
Nice smooth smoke (Gurkha Centurian) with great flavor! Every puff brings me great joy and with CI's Absurd Ghurka Deal the price is good too.
This cigar bombards you (Gurkha Centurian) with flavor. Puff after puff you get something new. It is definatly something you should try if you like the Gurkha lineup or are just interested in trying out a new super premium cigar. It is smooth and very flavorfull. You won't be let down with this one, especially if you are into super premiums.
Awesome smoke (Gurkha Centurian). Smoked the darn thing til I almost burned my upper lip...and my fingers. Definitely wanna try other Gurkha varieties.
The (Gurkha Centurian) is by far the most exspensive non cuban cigar I have ever smoked. I can see why. It is a very well shaped, well rolled, and well smoked. Worth the money? That is all relative. If you can get a good deal on them then absolutely, but if you are buying them solo then you can probably get a cheaper high quality stick. The Centurian and the Gurkha Black Puro are my favorite of this brand so far. So far is the key word.
Really great. What is nice about this perfecto (Gurkha Centurian) is how blatantly it changes in flavor as you smoke through the widening and narrowing girth. This cigar starts with a nice spice flavor, deepens into a rich complex medium, bordering on full bodied taste, and then mellows into a smooth satisfying finale. A unique and recognizable flavor as obvious and pleasing as some of the medium bodied Cubans. I was really surprised and delighted. A+…don’t hesitate! It is like a tasty satisfying snack.
Gurkha is the finest cigar outfit in the world! I just smoked a centurion that I had been aging for two years. It was the best, and most flavorful smoke I have ever had in my 10 years of cigar smoking. Cubans have nothing on these fine full-bodied smokes. Try any type to fit your preference and you'll be very pleased.
The Gurkha Centurian, Hum, lets just say the Bar has been raised if you are looking for great taste, amazing aroma, but please don't take this medium body cigar lightly it will leave you a little light headed!!
My favorite puro (Gurkha Centurian). No contest. I can't find another cigar that compares to this gem. Each puff, from start to finish, delivers amazing amounts of exquisite flavor. Smoother than silk. Sleeker than satin. Please DON'T buy this puro, I want them all.
I'm NOT going to like it when this cigar is no longer available; simple as that. Typically Gurkha (Centurian), the construction is excellent and the taste marvelous. The initial draw was a bit tight and the burn required a wee bit of attention, but this cigar rates very high on my personal list. The next-to-nothing price in the 'special' made it even more special.
Just another addition to my expanding "GURKHA" selection. The Centurian....if you happen across a better brand of cigar, please let me know. Good luck.
The Gurkha Centurian, there are no other cigars!
This cigar (Gurkha Centurian) is wonderful, a mild-medium with fantastic flavors including chocalate, nutty and a touch of spice. This is a great early morning cigar while the sun is coming up with a cup of java. Siply wonderful !!
If you are looking for a cigar for special occasions that wont break your piggy bank then look no further (Gurkha Centurian). This is one of my favorite cigars to smoke when I am looking for something more than your average cigar but not looking to spend "too much". Great cigar that will easily last you hours. Dont light up if you only have 1 hour to smoke though or you will be late :-)
This has to be my favorite smoke (Gurkha Centurian) of all time. What a great cigar. Complex, smooth, full bodied; truly a memorable event to smoke one of these! Thanks to CI's incredible prices, those of us who could never afford the luxury of adding these to our collections can enjoy one of the finest cigars on the planet. Thanks guys!
Wow. These cigars (Gurkha Centurian)are excellent. Lots of flavor off the start, a nice, mellow middle and just enough flavor at the end to leave a pleasant aftertaste. Even more impressive is that my order arrieved in roughly 9 days- and I am a soldier in Iraq! Kudos CI.
I want to thank CI for putting the Gurkha Centurians on sale, These cigars are the absolute best cigar ever made. I just ordered 36 cigars today, Cant wait to get em. If you are a cigar nut like i am, You owe it to yourself to get your hands on these beauties. CI- Please keep these specials coming, I love you guys, and girls.
The best cigar (Gurkha Centurian Double - X) I've ever smoked, period. Flawless wrapper, smooth and creamy with a touch of spice. This is the smoke that all cigar makers strive for. Normally out of my price range, but thanks to the great CI 2-fer, I am able to enjoy cigar perfection! Thanks CI!
"Best cigar in the world (Gurkha Centurian Double-X)"
Wow! A big, burly smoke (Gurkha Centurian Double-X). A complex blend of flavors that is simply exquisite! It's a shame they're so damn expensive (PLEASE run that special again!) - but this is one phenomenal cigar.
I agree with JT. These are GREAT (Gurka Centurian Double-X), and had they not sold out so fast, I would have ordered more. The best of the best.
I've been ordering some of your weekly and daily specials. This is by far the best you've offered (Gurkha Centurian Double-X).
I got these (Gurkha Centurian Double-X) from the CI special and wished I had bought a lot more at that price. These are at the top of my wish list. They were smoooth, with lots of smoke and pure enjoyment. I will be watching for the next deal on these guys.
This smoke (Gurkha Centurian Double-X) is outstanding in almost every respect. The flavor and body are perfectly balanced. There is a nice spiciness there that really kicks it up a notch. This is my all time favorite. Although the price is a little steep on my type of budget. Great with a McCallans 18 yr single malt.
For those of you that have not had the privilege of smoking one of these beauties(Gurkha Centurian Double-X), I would suggest doing so. Gorgeous cigar with tremendous flavor. Yes, they are a bit pricey but these guys at CI do run some great deals on them every now and again. CI I want to thank you for your speedy service and your unbeatable deals. -D
(Gurkha Centurian Double-X) This cigar is unbelievable and will simply take your breath away. This one out cubans the cubans.

Gurkha Centurian

Brandon S
I reviewed this fine smoke some time back before we started "formally" reviewing cigars and I have to tell you, it's as good if not better than the very first one I ever tried. After speaking with Kaizad Hansotia (founder and blender behind Gurkha cigars) I was nearly foaming at the mouth to get my hands on one. In fact, the very moment these arrived at our warehouse I was opening boxes to find them and claimed the very first canister I came across as my own! That was nearly 3 years ago and since then I have lost track of how many Gurkha Centurians I have had the pleasure of enjoying.

So, why would I write another review on this cigar after 3 years? I'm glad you asked and better still, I'm going to tell you...

Over the years I've tried many "new releases" that were excellent cigars and I'm sure you feel the same way. The trouble is that often after the lot of tobacco used to create that first batch has been depleted, the factories and blenders are left with the daunting task of producing the cigar again the following year with different tobaccos while maintaining the strength and flavor of the prior year's blend. This often leads to disappointment because subsequent batches lose that something special that was in the blend the first time out. Not so with the Centurian! No way, no how, no doubt about it! Each and every Centurian that I have enjoyed from that very first to today is perfectly consistent in every way, from the burn to the construction to the intense Cuban-esque flavor that each imparts. Mellow off the start with a hint of spiciness, the Centurian slowly builds into a full-bodied and full-flavored cigar with a complexity and richness that rivals even the most sought after Cuban cigars. Year over year you won't find that kind of consistency in any Cuban cigar these days. Sure the price isn't anything to sneeze at but if quality, consistency and a superior blend of tobacco is what you’re after, look no further because your search is over!

Gurkha Centurian

The Gurkha Centurian is not your every day cigar. Rather, it’s a special cigar for a special day. Let’s be honest, how often do you get the chance to enjoy a $30 cigar that was made exclusively for the Sultan of Brunei? In case you're wondering, Brunei Darussalam is an oil-rich country located in the island of Borneo, and the Sultan is not just the Sultan, he's also the country’s Prime Minister, Defense Minister and Finance Minster, aside from being one of the richest men alive.

To me, The Centurian is a must-have cigar, so I have a canister full of Centurians on hand - each is waiting its turn for a special day. Unless you overslept, last weekend was New Years, a perfect time to break open the canister and enjoy one of my all-time favorites. You can’t say enough about the look of this perfecto - a solid, 60 ring gauge double torpedo that’s packed with aged Cuban-seed Dominican long-fillers and sports a flawless Connecticut wrapper leaf that’s silky to the touch. Upon sparking up a full-flavored burst of spice and rich earthiness shifts my palate into overdrive. After my first few puffs my only thought is Cuban Bolivar. The rich Cuban-like earthiness put forth by this cigar is so smooth that I hardly notice the underlying strength that creeps on me. Word to the wise, do not smoke this while operating heavy machinery, on an empty stomach, pregnant or a few drinks over the limit. As the cigar enters its thickest point, it tends to mellow a bit, but continues to deliver a potpourri of flavor. Spicy, woody, earthy, toasty, rich, but always smooth. But give it time. Just as I start to recover from the mellow buzz, the cigar begins to taper into a full-bodied finish that’s loaded with creamy spice, giving new meaning to the phrase “go out with a bang”. Eventful from start to finish.

Gurkha’s Centurian is the reason why we become an enthusiast of fine cigars. Enjoying a cigar is a moment we look forward to and make plans for. Because of this, we are often disappointed, making the satisfaction of enjoying a perfect cigar, at the perfect time, much more meaningful. This cigar is an experience that I will continue to make plans for.
