The Short Run returns, this time with a twist...
The godfather of boutique cigars, E.P. Carillo, has been making the Short Run yearly since 2010, except for a short hiatus from 2017 to 2020. In 2021, he brought them back and has been creating new blends since, but this year’s release is unique to the rest in a very special way. The bus driver turned cigar industry power-player, Oscar Valladares, had the privilege of collaborating with Carillo, and the Short Run 2023 was the result.
Crafted in Oscar’s factory in Honduras, the Short Run 2023 uses an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper alongside a Honduran binder and Nicaraguan and Honduran fillers, some of which were sourced from Copan, the whole reason behind this atypical collaboration. Incredibly unique and just a touch over medium bodied, the Short Run 2023 brings with it notes of baking spice, saltiness, various nuts, and a hint of earth. These won’t be around forever, and next year the blend changes once again, so make sure you get your hands on these while you can!
