Love Macanudo, but hate the price?
CI Knock-Offs are really a treat. This is an everyday, affordable way to enjoy a comparable flavor for much cheaper. Handcrafted with Connecticut shade wrappers and Dominican mixed filler leaves. If you like regular Macanudos but dislike the price, these handmade knock-off beauties are for you.Macanudo is a registered trademark of General Cigar Corporation.
I too had reservations about anything called a "Knock-Off." But being the adventuresome type, I gave it a go and was pleasantly surprised. Nice flavor, similar to a Macanudo as stated. Nice burn, nice in general. I'm on my 3rd batch now.
These are excellent cigars. My label loving buddies rave when I haul these out.
Not a Macanudo, but close enough that it's worth at least twice what CI is asking. This is my favorite everyday smoke.
My order arrived yesterday and I could not be happier. I have been hunting for a good low cost everyday cigar and have tried several cigars in the $1.25 to $3.00 range, but have been disappointed with everything I found until now. I am dropping the words cheap (even though I only paid about $2.00 each) and everyday when describing them since these are simply really good cigars. My only regrets are that I did not find them sooner and did not order more.
I had a longer review that got timed out on me before posting. Short version - 100% satisfied, CI ships stuff dang fast, the cigar I had fresh out of the bundle was an honest to goodness contender against the Macanudo Hyde Park. That makes for one happy shopper.
If you like macanudo cafe hyde park cigars, then this is a deal for you. I have four friends who are die-hard macanudo fans and will smoke nothing else. When I gave them each one of these, under the assumption that they were recieving macanudos, they smoked and praised the construction, slow even burn, long white ash, thick creamy yet smooth smoke and effortless draw, all of them proclaiming that this was an excellent cigar. when i told them that these were a ci knock-off, they didn't believe me and still don't. as with the cohiba knock-off, the only noticeable difference was the thinner more delicate wrapper.
Great cigar for the price...But, have been out of stock of the Torpedo's close to 30 day's now...need to work on this CI.
These are great for me, I like a mild to medium cigar. I used a punch on these and they have a great draw to them. I consider these to medium and taste very close to the Macanudo that I have bought in the past. Great smoke for the money!
I wanted to try these sticks to see how they taste. I don't smoke the top end cigars due to the price and I'm on a fixed income. I received them today and tried on right out of the box. The first 1/8 inch was a little harsh but it mellowed right out, the burn was even, draw was good and flavor was great. I will buy these again they make a good everyday stick and I smoke at least 2 cigars a day.
I purchased the Macanudo knockoffs, I am very pleased. Excellent flavor, burn was a little off but consistent. I ordered 2 more bundles! Great buy!
Pretty darn close to a Macanudo! I've smoked about 5 of these in the torpedo shape and nearly burned my nose and fingers smoking them down to a 'nub". This one is a keeper and I will buy them again. If you purchase these, they do need some aging, however, so put them aside in the humidor, if you can stay away from them for several weeks.
Buy them! You wont regret it. Your friends will love them too. Great everyday smoke!
Nice flavor! Really comparable with Macanudos.
Just like the real thing! Hate to admit it, but these are great cigars.
Great kick around smoke. Not overbearing, just a nice mild smooth smoke.
Overall, a good buy. Flavor is somewhat similar to Macanudo Cafe, just missing that creaminess in the smoke and flavor I was hoping for. Smell was damn fine, taste pretty good. I have to wonder, though, just who in the hell rolled these ones. Loose. Otherwise, for $2.20 a piece, I'll be buying more :)
....not too impressed. However, their burn was quite even.
Not quite a Macanudo, but pretty darn close. Well worth the money.
I am fairly new to the cigar smoking scene. I recieved some Macanudo Cafe Hyde Parks as a gift from a friend a few months ago and fell in love with the taste, but not the price. These knock offs are unbelievably close to the real thing as far as taste and draw. The only thing I have notices is that the knock offs tend to be a bit of a looser role in my opinion, but still a great bargain at $2 a stick. I have one of these regularly and it is a staple in my new humidor. If you are a frugel smoker or new to the cigar world, give these things a whirl, you will NOT be disappointed!
I purchased a bundle while searching for a daily smoke that's easy on the wallet. I have to say these hit the spot. Macanudos they are not, but these sticks are reminiscent. Mild, low resistance on the draw, and a good flavor. Burn is a little jagged, but I haven't had re-light issue from my entire first bundle. After spending time in the humidor they've gotten even better. Will definitely purchase again.
My first review wasn't posted, maybe I was a little to harsh with my words. From my experience with the CI Knock Offs Macanudo. If a long stay in the humidor doesn't fix them, then they are of no value. None of the first 4 I smoked would come close to even, and the tobacco feels like mush between your fingers. Spend a little more and purchase the Davidoff Corazones $57.00 dollars, or Indian Tabac Reserve.
Had my first Macanudo Knock-Off last night. The draw was a little tight but the flavor & burn more than made up for it. The overall quality of the smoke for the cost of the pack is a great deal by any standards.
When I first got these I was pretty disappointed. The color is a hue of green, they aren't even the same length as the Hyde Park, and they are very loosely rolled. But despite all of that after a few month in the humidor they taste great. Great being relative. They taste great for cheap cigars. They will never be as good as the real thing BUT they are enjoyable and you can smoke half and throw it out without feeling like you just threw away $10. I'll be buying more as soon as I make my way threw these.
At first, the cigars were a little bland. After a week or so in the humidor, they improved a bunch. Can't get enough of these. I'm gonna order another box of these pretty soon, along with a box of the mistakes.
I have been smoking and enjoying cigars all my life. (60yrs0ld)ugh!! Anyhow, these CI Macundo knock-offs are one of the best cigars I have ever had the pleasure of smoking. I have been thru several bundles of the churchills, and have yet to find a "stinker". All are top quality construction with great draw and great flavor and very consistent. I say better than the brand cigars! If you enjoy a mild cigar, with plenty of flavor, this is one of the best cigars I have ever had the pleasure of smoking.
The Macanudo CI Knock-off is a great cigar. Burns even, no issues with the draw and it is a tasty mild cigar. I recommend these to anyone who smokes macs. Thank You CI for a great cigar. JW
Frankly, when I read about Mac knockoffs, I said, "Yeah, right. Whatever." But for the price, I figured what-the-heck. Ordered a bundle of the Baron Rothschilds, aka Lonsdale size. Well, one right out of the bundle was OK. Nothing to write home about. But after a month in the humidor? I like them BETTER than my genuine Macs! Better draw (I always thought Macs were too tight), and just a hint more body to the flavor, and a nice light pepper tingle at the end. This is the first "cheap" cigar I nubbed to the last half inch! I'll be ordering more. Thanks, CI !
"I just checked my e-mail; saw an "Exclusive Offer - Macanudo Cafe"
So I clicked on it.
Remembering that I got some knock-offs a while back, and how much I enjoyed them, I decided to order more knock-offs. With this economy, I know that I made the right choice, and my taste buds won't know the difference."
I love Macanudo and I cannot tell the difference between them and the (CI Knock-Offs - Compare to Macanudo) Knock-offs. Money is tight around so the knock offs are the way to go .Same great taste and a great price!!
I received my first shipment of CI Knock-Offs - Macanudo and I'm impressed. It is a good cigar and an exceptional value. It's a good smoke from start to finish. I recommend these to anyone who wants a good, everyday smoke for little money.
In my humble opinion the CI Knock-off and 5-Vegas Gold are some of the best tasting cigars on the market. For the last few orders I have filled my humidor with the CI Knock-offs. The taste is great! Good job on blending the tobacco.
Great cigars, very comparable to Macanudo (Macanudo Knockoffs). Will be keeping these in my normal rotation with my Private Stocks and 5-Vegas! Great job guys!!
JUST RECIEVED THESE MAC KNOCKOFFS YESTERDAY AND I WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH THE TASTE AND SMOOTHNESS. TAKE THE WRAPPER OFF ANY GENUINE MAC AND ITS DIFFICULT TO TELL. CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE AND VALUE.
After trying a bunch of cigars, these(CI Knock-Offs - Compare to Macanudo) are the most smokable cigars I have found. They are mild, good aroma, good draw, cool. I've tried Petersons (skunky taste), Jose Marti (get a hernia trying to draw on this), Cuban Originals (not too bad), Cuban Honeys (if you like flavored cigars these are mild, smooth, lots of smoke)
"Knock-offs"? (CI Knock-Offs-Compare to Macanudo) Smokes more like the real thing to me. Every once in a while you actually get your money's worth and more. This would be one of those rare occasions. As I write this, I see most of the Macanudo Knock-off's are back-ordered. That's not a surprise. I just wish C.I. would knock-off La Aurora Perferidos and Fonseca Serie Fs.
truly a great cigar (CI Knock-Offs - Compare to Macanudo),burns even, tastes good, perfect draw.needs one thing,a cigar band. thank you thank you
I received the CI Knock-offs, and immediately put them in the humidor. Finally- a cigar that tastes like a Macanudo!!! I was a little disappointed after a day in the humidor. I'm hoping they'll age and marry. Not bad for the everyday cigar. Reminds me of the Magellans that I bought through CI, and they are aging very well. My wife even takes an occassional Magellan on our walks with the dogs.
