Casa Cuevas Habano

The Cuevas strike out on their own

Casa Cuevas Cigars are a new brand to the US market, but I wouldn’t call this their first rodeo. Casa Cuevas is a family owned business that first started in the tobacco industry four generations ago in the Pinar Del Rio valley of Cuba where they cultivated tobacco. Today, they operate out of their Tabacalera Las Lavas factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic. Out of this factory, they have produced cigars for well-known brands such as Gurkha, Sam Leccia and Carlos Torano. The Casa Cuevas line is just the first to bear the family name.

The blend at hand consists of premium tobacco from three different countries. The wrapper up top is a chocolaty brown Ecuadorian habano leaf that covers a Nicaraguan binder and long-fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The body and strength float around the medium-full range and offer and great balance of flavor. You can expect notes of fruit, black pepper, bread, wood and natural tobacco. It's about time this the Casa Cuevas camp but their name on a cigar, and they put their best foot forward with this one. Time to see what they're all about!

Excellent
Excellent in every category. Construction burn and especially flavor worthy of a full box to age in the humidor

Casa cuevas
I ordered the pack of 5 Connecticut (blue band) to try it out and it did not disappoint! I smoked 3 of them and all were great. I also let two of my buddys smoke the other two to see what they thought and they were also impressed with them. Reasonable price for a great cigar! Would buy again. Casa Cuevas will have a place in my humidor.

A True Premium Cigar
Very well constructed with a nice draw and even burn from start to the nub. Great flavor down to it's peppery finish. As with the Connecticut and Maduro, the Habano does not disappoint. Not only a great stick, very reasonably priced. Casa Cuevas will always be "In The Mix".
