Augusto Reyes Emperador

Email
A massive closeout from Augusto Reyes.

Augusto Reyes has a well-established stable of brands, earning top honors and ratings as high as 91. But on a recent trip to his Dominican factory, we uncovered an intriguing closeout by the name of Augusto Reyes Emperador. It was made specifically for the European market and it's definitely as good as his regular production lines. But as you may know, Europeans like smaller cigars, and these 7.5"x50 Double Coronas just didn't sell. No surprise. Either way, I bought the rest and I'm passing along the savings. The price may be cheap, but the cigars are far from it. Draped in a dark, oily Habano wrapper and generously packed with aged Dominican and Nicaraguan long-fillers, this boomstick dishes out layers of smooth and hearty flavors. But the best part is the price - a flavorful 7.5"x50 Double Corona for just $1.99 apiece.

“Picked these up on the last sale. what an awesome smoke! Excellent draw and burn, smooth and creamy. Another winner from CI...thanks guys”

“Flavor was just "ok". smoked a box of these and almost all had a very tight draw and not much smoke. burn inconsistency was also an issue.”
LZ of Gainesville, GA
“I bought a bundle of these at Christmas on special. Wasn't sure what to expect, though all the Augusto Reyes cigars I've tried have been excellent! These were no exception. Smooth and mild, but tasty. I'm going to order more before they're gone. Just wish it were a regular offering rather than a close-out.”

“Just got a bundle of these from the Weekly Special. Couldn't wait the recommended amount of time to let them sit in the humidor, because I just don't have the patience. So, I kept my expectations a little low. However, it turned out to be a nice surprise. Flavor and burn were good. First few puffs were a little peppery, but it mellowed out as it went on. Makes a nice golfing or working around the house cigar. The value of these are superb. Thanks again CI for another great deal!”

“Got these for $30 on special, not bad for $1.50 a stick. The wrappers are veiny & spotty, but a decent flavor all the way through. Perfect yardgar, prolly the best budget long-filler I've had. The church size seems excessive, as I don't want to smoke a budget cigar for 1.5 hours, but even if you smoke half & pitch the rest, it's worth it. Might try cutting them in half with cigar scissors if they don't unravel too much.”

“This is really an excellent smoke...Got a bundle and its been in the humi for about 3 weeks now and they just keep getting better! leather and copious amounts of cream hit the palate followed by white pepper and mild spice with a nice subtle sweetness...Cream remains throughout the length of the burn. An above average everyday smoke, and cheap enough to share!”

“I picked these(A Reyes Emperador) up when you guys offered them as a weekly special last month; after 2 wks in the humi I couldn't wait any longer and fired one up a few nights ago. All I can say is WOWWWW! An hour and half of smooth mild-to-medium tastiness that never let up; puff after puff of mild tobacco flavor with subtle coffee undertones and a sweet spicy finish. My favorite of Augie Reyes' blends, so far, and I own every one that you carry(and they're all top-shelf); so, yesterday I go online to order more and your site says it no longer exists and I was totally bummed out, but this morning it's offered again as the weekly special and I'll gladly pay the additional 10 bills for a second mazo, they're worth more than that, like everything you guys sell!”

“I have gone through four bundles of these. Not the greatest cigar in the world, but pretty darn good at the price. Relatively mild, but flavorful. Not a single one of them has yet to burn badly or crack open. They have a firm, but even draw and seem to last me about one hour and forty five minutes. When I go out to the smoker's porch at my favorite sports pub, I get compliments about the aroma, so they must not be too offensive to the non-smokers around.”
PB of Deland, FL
“A very good smoke, I have paid a lot more for cigars that were far less quality than this.”

“I was disappointed in this cigar. I've smoked other Augusto Reyes cigars, and loved them. But this cigar had a very woodsy flavor, and did not draw well at all. Most of the 20 cigars did not draw well.”
