Quattro Nicaragua – It was Meant to Be

From their dominance as the highest non-Cuban rated blend according to Cigar Aficionado in 2013 to present day, the Quattro line from Rafael Nodal has been a stunner. So when we heard Nodal was teaming up with the folks behind Romeo y Julieta and Montecristo to create a new, Nicaraguan puro extension to the blend, it was needless to say we were grinning from ear to ear. Gentleman, welcome Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua. 

For the rooks out there, a “puro” cigar features 100% of its tobacco from the same country. So, this Nicaraguan puro is all Nica – wrapper, binder, and long-fillers. The result is exactly what you’d want: a medium to full-bodied overload of flavor, rife with crisp flavors that are peppery, zesty, and rich. The original Quattro F55 was a damn fine cigar… but this one might just take the cake as Aging Room’s best yet.

Great news! A former #1 Cigar of the Year, Aging Room Quattro Nicaraguan earned a 96-Rating. In 2021 it landed in the #14 spot, with a 93-rating, noting: "There are many different Aging Rooms made in different factories, but this is the blend that gives us the finest performance: an orchestral suite of flavors that range from espresso and chocolate to pecan and caramel. A note of star anise resonates on the finish for a lasting encore."

I don't pay much attention to cigar ratings but they nailed it by awarding this cigar "Cigar of the year" in 2019. This is one of my all time favorites after smoking cigars for 40 years. Just wish it didn't cost so damn much.

I was a little skeptical when I sparked it up then I got to The middle third and I was hooked, and then the last third was outstanding. I did not want to put the cigar down. Nice draw and burn as well.

One of my top three cigars. There’s a reason this was once “Cigar of the year”. Rich, smooth flavor throughout the smoke. Lush, creamy smoke output. This cigar punches way above its weight in enjoyment yet the price is reasonable, even if you pick it up at MSRP. Grab a box, you won’t be let down.
