Camacho BG Meyer Standard Issue

BG Meyer…

If you haven’t heard about the BG Meyer Standard Issue cigar, don’t worry. I am here to impart some knowledge. “What is a BG Meyer,” you may be asking yourself? Not a hot dog, but the newest addition to the already stunning arsenal that is Camacho Cigars. In a monumental revamping effort, Camacho created the “Board of the Bold,” a star-studded cast of brand directors including Mike Ditka, Matt Booth, and the person behind the BG Meyer Company, Rob Weiss. Rob Weiss is well-known in the cinema industry as one of the writers and producers on the hit HBO series, “Entourage!” I never heard of him, but he’s got a Wikipedia…and that’s proof enough for me. Plus, the cigar’s pretty damn tasty. So that’s that.

BG Meyer’s Standard Issue stays true to the “Board of the Bold” name, delivering a medium-full bodied experience. A true Nicaraguan puro, rare Corojo ‘99 fillers are nestled within a Nicaraguan binder. To cap it all off, an exquisite Habano wrapper is draped over top, producing notes of wood, vanilla bean, and sweet spices. It’s like hobnobbing with the rich and famous of Hollywood, just a little better tasting.

Not up to Camacho Standards
I bought BG Meyers because I have always enjoyed Comacho cigars. I read some of the reviews beforehand and they were good. My disappointment is that they do not burn evenly, the taste is not consistent, and there is a need to touch up often during the smoke. I will stick with Regular Comacho in the future.

BG Myer Cigars
Unique pleasant taste but needs constant touch ups. Wrapper will not stay lit. Going to let them sit another week and try again.

Very Good Cigar!!!

Decent smoke.
Nice looking cigar, nice presentation. Felt a bit light in the hand. Good draw, decent burn. Flaky ash. Dry but long finish. I got mostly a wooded flavor with a slightly burn caramel flavor. No real "wow" factor. I also got a bit of a metallic flavor that was a bit off putting but not a deal breaker. I would say this is a solid cigar. I would suggest pairing it with a malty slightly sweet beer. I went with Guinness and found the experience pretty enjoyable.

Customer Testimonials
Recently, I had the opportunity to try Camacho's newest cigar, a BG Meyer Standard Issue. In short, delicious. It delivered an impressive smooth taste and slow burn throughout the cigar. This trumps my previous favourite Camacho cigar - the Triple Maduro. Well done!
This cigar is very close to perfection. Tons of nice taste and not overwhelmingly bitter. This is a go-to cigar. Magnifico!
