With it's hints of pepper, earth and leather; the RP Royal Vintage is a very satisfying and complex smoke. If you are a Rocky Patel fan, you MUST pick up this cigar.
This has become one of my favorite cigars on a day to day basis, the vintage collection listed at the bottom of the product page is an exceptionally good deal. I have never had a bad one in the 100 or so I have purchased in the past year.
This is another great cigar from Rocky Patel, I recommend cigar aficionados buy this great blend that our good friend has created!! The taste is superb, the construction is good, and the plumes of smoke, Wow!! I will be stocking up on this one and the 90 and 92's!!
Just recently got a 10 pack of the Toro size on a special deal. They've been in the humi for a few weeks now so I had to try one. I was extremely impressed with this cigar. It had a tremendous smokey, spicy, peppery flavor that just kept getting better and better. The only issue I have with the one I smoked so far is the bands were so tight that a split formed between them. But this not detract from the great aroma and flavor. I would definitely get these again as the blend was awesome. Reminded me of a Padilla Habano which is a favorite of mine. So try these when you can. You won't be sorry. Another great bargain from C.I.
Most of the Rocky's I've had have been disappointing. This was one that really made me rethink Rocky's stuff. This is one I'll be looking to get again.
I got a five pack of the Churchill's. This is a handsome looking stick (as with most RP's); I tend to be a fan of the redish-brown wrapper (sun grown) in general. No noticeable bump or veins, firm to the touch. The burn was slow and even, producing a light gray ash, and the draw is just right, not too firm and not too loose. In terms of body, I would say it's a solid medium. Taste-wise, I was expecting pepper (based on the appearance and smell of the cigar), which I really like and didn't get, but I was pleasantly surprised with the nutty flavors I consistently got throughout. The texture of the smoke was nice and creamy. There is a slight nice sweetness on the draw and the finish is long and nutty. In general, I would definitely recommend this cigar.
Great smoke. If you have some experience with cigars you will love this run.
I have been smoking the royal vintage, and it's simply great! The draw is perfect and the smoke cool. I smoke them to the end and there isn't a hint of harshness from beginning to end. I have a good number in my humidor and I will be replenishing.
The RP Royal Vintage cigar. I expected a lot more than I received.
It's not that it's a bad stick, the burn and draw were fine but the
taste was kind of flat. Rocky Patel cigars are expensive for my pocket
and I was not satisfied here. Better luck next time.
To date, the Rocky Patel Royal Vintage is my favorite of any cigar I've tried. It's complex with hints of leather and earth, it's smooth to the finish with whiffs of creamy sweetness, it's heaven on earth. I look forward to the end of the work day and a relaxing evening with a Rocky Patel Royal Vintage, a tumbler of Johnny on the rocks and some Smooth Jazz.
Rocky Patel Royal Vintage torpedo is a medium bodied cigar. Dominant flavors are of cocoa, milk chocolate, leather and a dark cherry raisin flavor. Hint of spice here and there. Medium finish which leaves your palette coated with milk chocolate and raisin. Good draw. No construction issues. Plenty of smoke. One of my all time favorites. Constantly stocking up on these. I rate a 90 in my book. Only second to the vintage 90 92 line
Description of the cigar is spot on. The spice notes are perfectly balanced with the espresso notes if you like rocky Patel this cigar is not to be missed
I'm new to cigars, so I don't have a great amount of experience and I'm still discovering what I like. I picked up ten of these (Rocky Patel Royal Vintage) on a Daily Deal because I'd read a lot of good stuff about Rocky and the Vintage series. I've tried only one of these so far. This first example started off very promising with lots of smoke and nice flavors of coffee, nuts, wood and a little spicy heat. I thought this cigar could really become a favorite because I really like this flavor profile. However, the great flavor of the first third of the cigar seemed to diminish as I reached the halfway point. Around halfway the great coffee, nut flavor became much less noticeable and the spiciness increased. It also took on a drier and stronger taste and feeling. To summarize, I was hoping that these would compare to the Vintage 90 and 92 series, but for the much cheaper price of the Royals, that probably was not a realistic hope. If I smoked more cigars, these might make decent, reasonably priced everyday smokes.
I couldn't agree more with PL of Laguna Hills, CA. It was a very good cigar, but the wrapper was just too delicate and just about every one I had would start to break apart. Other than that, like I said, I did like the cigar. I have enjoyed all Rocky Patels cigars.
I got this cigar in a free ten pack sampler after purchasing a box of Connecticuts and I'm very surprised by how good they were I'm not a full or strong cigar person. The rating on the cigar is med-full so I was Leary at first but never again will I look at ratings it was very enjoyable good burn easy draw great flavor.
Construction was perfect and appearance top notch. When I smoked a stick it produced an ugly ash. At first one side just wouldn't burn but after a touch up I got that taken care of but as the stick burned there was some difficulty in an even ash.... Now after all that has been said, the cigar was a 100% taste sensation, go figure. I would buy these all day at the price I got them, just don't expect a perfect ash if that matters....
The Rocky Patel Royal Vintage 60 is my favorite cigar. I try many different brands and types some much more expensive than this delicious sixty ring. The smoke is cool, the draw easy, and the taste consistently right on. I always come back top to the Royal Vintage 60. I think it is the best buy on the planet. Keep 'em coming CI.
Exceptional cigars. I love to share these with my friends and see the smile appear of their faces followed by "Wow, who makes these again?"
Tried a lot of the Rocky Patel brand. My favorite by far is Rocky Patel Royal Vintage. Smooth and stays the same all the way through. This cigar is truly a class act and has a great taste to it. Will be buying more and stocking up. I'm pretty much a bargain shopper but this one is worth the extra bucks.
Very fine smoke as are most of their products.
Rocky Patel. I had heard of this brand prior to purchasing a box of the Royal Vintage cigars, but had never had the pleasure of enjoying one. This cigar is a welcome addition to my small humidor; definitly a cigar you want to share with another who appreciates a finer tobacco. The cigar burns well with hints of pepper and oak across your palate. I recommend this cigar with a glass of Scotch or Bourbon. I purchased one box to try and I will now be a regular Rocky Patel fan.
Pretty good smokes here..
Pretty good cigar, but don't confuse it with the original Vintage series (1990&1992). Not even close.
Really enjoyed the sticks! Very great smoke, i highly recommend these!
Truely amazing cigar!! The draw, smoke and burn just incredible. Beautiful inside and out. Thank you.
Great smoke!!! Rocky Patel never disappoints!! Ordered a 5 pack and each one burned perfect and I will definitely be ordering more of these!!!
I was a bit disappointed with the wrapping of these cigars. I like to smoke while I'm driving my convertible and I found the wrapper falling apart on just about every one of these. I will not be re-ordering these cigars.
