These have been my favorite cigars for some time. I enjoy a mild yet flavorful smoke and these surely fit the bill. They are also very reasonably priced. One of my happiest moments was finding these on CI!
These aren't my very favorite cigars. For most of the time, I prefer stronger cigars. However, in my opinion this is one of the best mild cigars on the market. Never a trace of bitterness, a mild blend without sacrificing some pleasant flavor, flawless construction and consistency. I've never ever had a bad one. It's a shame they took The Griffin's Fuerte off the market, but these are still good - I'd put them up there with Avo. They are a little pricey even when shopping with the big internet retailers, but I can see my way towards buying them once in a blue moon to keep around for a special treat when I want a good mild cigar. Now, there are good mild cigars that can be had for less money, it's true, so I wouldn't blame you for spending your cash on something else....after all, I can only afford to smoke these occasionally....but I do think they're a great cigar, and the corona shape is a really nice smoke.
I enjoy a cigar that accompanies me without demanding my attention like a needy girlfriend. The Griffins fit the bill for me. I can lose myself in my thoughts or enjoy a bottle of beer without it distracting me. That's what I call a good smoke.
boring and uninteresting indeed. Very hard draw very little flavor that I can detect.... To be fair I only had one and it was in the humidor for 2 weeks or so.way better cigars out there to spend your money on....
The Griffin's Robusto burns well and generates a lot of smoke. A little harsh at first, but after 5-10 minutes it mellows out nicely and hits the sweet spot. Nice wrapper, very good construction. Creamy smoke with mild/med body. Goes pretty well with an IPA. Some nutty, coffee taste midway in. Gets a little spicier and stronger towards the end. It seems closer to medium strength in the final third. Burns great right to the end. Rich mellow, mild yet with some strength. Good aftertaste. The only downside is the fairly steep regular price.
The reviews for this cigar are are all over the map, people either love them or find them boring. I happen to love this cigar. Very mild with a lot of subtle flavors. Very mild does not mean boring for this cigar, one only has to tease out the cedar, cream and nutty aspects that make this a perfect morning smoke.
Had my first in a few years and thought it was a decent smoke. I did find the first few minutes of the smoke somewhat harsh and almost tossed it. However, it then settled down to a smooth soft taste with a nice draw. I would also put this a few notches below a Rocky Patel.
I can't imagine anybody really paying a lot of money for one of these things. I didn't; it came in the Cigar of the Month Club selection. I hadn't smoked one in quite a few years and this one reminded me why..I didn't enjoy it. Dull and uninteresting, in my opinion. Mild? Yes..along with being the aforementioned dull and uninteresting. Since I got two in the selection, I'll leave the other one in the humidor for a wee while and see if it's any better.
after a long search, I have found my perfect morning cigar.
I get up earlier now just to enjoy the griffin.
I always keep a few griffins on hand and the truth is that its not a davidoff ,but its a great mild smoke, truth up there with nat sherman or not far behind the perdomo champagne....i always keep few in the box and with a rocky and perdomo a great mild smoke always and if you are new to cigars great try.....
The Griffin Prestige is one of my favorite cigars. Very mild, nice flavors, great draw with tons of beautiful smoke. I always have a few in my humi.
I must strongly disagree. I bought some of these on a whim, knowing that if I am going to enjoy a mild cigar that is must have serious flavor and complexity. This has to be the most boring, uninteresting cigar I have ever had. I assumed that based on price that it would at least be interesting in some sense...WRONG. If you do buy some, keep the quantity down until you have tried one. It reminds me of many of the Connecticut cigars that sell at blowout prices because they won't compete with the good ones being made outside of Cuba nowadays...Just my opinion...5 Vegas Gold blows these out of the humidor!
This is most likely one of the finest cigars(The Griffin's) in the world. Ya, I know, That's a bold statement. If you have never smoked one you can't understand. I really must insist. If you smoke one of these cigars you WILL love it. I have always kept a few in the humidor for those times when nothing but the best will do. I assure you, if you buy this cigar once, you WILL buy it again.
