I'm new to the cigar world. So far this is hands down my favorite cigar! Love the Churchill and the Gordo!
For my taste, Nicaragua has always produced the best cigars. Cuban seed long fillers really benefit from the rich volcanic soil. The result will be a smooth burn with plenty of flavor. The Connecticut wrapper puts the finishing touch on a great blend from Oliva. Well done.
One of my favorites. Well made, always same consistency. I keep coming back for another box every few months. A keeper in my humidor.
Such a nice soft creamy smoke with excellent flavour! Easily one of my favorite sticks and now I know what to give to my buddies who want to try a cigar!
I just finished smoking one of the Oliva Connecticut Reserve Churchill cigars and it was a nice treat. It had an even burn 1 1/2 hours in and no relights. More smoke than I thought it would and had a smooth flavor. Nice white ash got to about an inch before it fell off. I'm a new smoker and this is already one I could smoke every day.
This cigar is definitely on my top 5 morning cigars. Compliments a cup of espresso extraordinary well. I will definitely buy a box one of these days.
best cigar i ever smoked
Excellent cigar, nice and mild for that anytime smoke!
I've only been smoking for a year or so and enjoy mostly mild smokes. This is currently my favorite smoke. Mild and flavorful, burns even, and draws excellent. MMAO got me 5 for a little more than $4.50 a piece. Will be ordering more soon.
AWESOME, one of my favorites
I would have to say this stick is great, it was my first non flavored cigar I've had and I'm very impressed to say the least very light and extremely smooth from light to finish I will buy more. perfect for others switching from flavored cigars would recommend to anyone.
I am a beginner cigar smoker, and I love this cigar! One of the first few brands that I have tried and I completely love it. Packed with flavor, tastes much better than my acid blondies. Wish they were not so expensive though. Anyways, Pick some up!
Oliva Connecticut Reserve Robusto is a medium bodied smoke. Dominant flavors were of cream, semi sweet tobacco, buttered toast, cedar and nuts. Finish was semi long off buttered leather and nuts. Draw snug but good smoke output.Hints of spice. Good construction overall. I rate a easy 88 89 One of the best Connecticut's out there
A very flavorful smoke. A slow burn and quite enjoyable.
Just smoked my first Oliva tonight...the Connecticut Reserve robusto. Very nice cigar for the hot Missouri summertime. Mild and mellow, but some very nice creamy flavors. Construction was outstanding, and burn was perfect to the nub. The mouthfeel is a standout feature, as it imparts a very rare fullness over the palate. Great with a wheat beer like New Belgium Sunshine Wheat or Schlafly Yakima Wheat Ale. Add a Cardinals game on the radio and you have a perfect summer afternoon.
I've smoked some very good Connecticut cigars in my day. Gurkha Beauty, 5 Vegas Gold, Graycliff G2, Man O' War Virtue to name a few. So, when I tell you that this is the best Connecticut cigar I've ever had I hope you understand my full meaning. Smooth draw, creamy flavor and great to the nub - I've burnt my finger tips just so I could enjoy this cigar as much and as long as possible. It is a bit pricier than most but it is worth every cent. I've had the Churchill, robusto and double T and so far the double T is the best. Even if you typically smoke cigars as black as my ex's soul you can enjoy this one.
...received in the Mild & Mellow Sampler #4,and all I can say is...OLIVA...OLIVA...OLIVA !!!
Good mild cigar. Enjoyed this one on the beach. I had a couple of burn problems that eventually corrected themselves, but that is probably due to windy conditions. Its a hearty robusto size with a good draw. Smooth tobacco taste with a small bit of spice towards the end. I would get this again, but I would try a different size to get a bit more flavor. If you smoke med-full cigars, you may be left wanting more.
This just might be the best mild cigar I've had....Excellent is the first thing that comes to mind !!!
First off the Connecticut wrapper is absolutely gorgeous. I'm not a huge fan of milder cigars, but this one has a little more meat on it's bones than other similar sticks. I LOVE the Oliva line, and hadn't tried this one until tonight. I scored this baby in a $5/5 pack when I bought a bundle of Flor de Oliva (how awesome is that!). As I sit here smoking this thing, I'm liking it a lot more after the 1st inch into it. It kinda smooths out and gets a little more flavorful. The draw is suberb, and the ash is white with a nice sharp burn. I get a lot of earth and a slight peppery taste. Kinda woodsy too. Thoroughly enjoyable.
In a word - wonderful! So flavorful for a mild-med cigar and delicious down to the nub.
Careful though, if you light this up in the morning you won't want to interrupt it to go to work.
Very, very nice smoke. I agree with Supertramp - this is a different kind of mild with a smooth but full flavor. Burn was excellent throughout and the draw perfect. This will be one of my favorite milds.
I've been on the hunt for a good, mild cigar to call a "favorite". Last night was the first Oliva Connecticut Reserve (5x50) cigar I've smoked; I have to say it was good. The cigar was well constructed, had a good, even burn and nice draw. I could distinguish hints of nuts and coffee on my palate, which was swamped by creamy, slky smooth smoke on every draw. Yeap, a good mild cigar, indeed. I'm not going to call this one my "favorite" yet (too many to try!), but it is one I'd buy again.
This was far better than I expected (Oliva Connecticut Reserve). There's some of the Nicaraguan flavors you might expect from an Oliva with bread and butter notes from the Connecticut wrapper. Coffee and cream, sweetened with some dank earthy notes. Wonderful.
