When ya comin’ home Dad? I don’t know when, but we’ll get together then.

After a 17 year career with the Plasencia family, Ismael Fernandez has come out of retirement to join his son, the very well-known AJ Fernandez. Their first collaboration together, called New World, is a nod to the discovery of tobacco by Christopher Columbus and its introduction to the rest of the world in 1492.

Draped in a bold, dark Nicaraguan wrapper and jam-packed with powerful ligeros from Esteli and Condega balanced by the uniqueness of Ometepe tobacco, this rich, medium to full-bodied blend offers an elegant, refined profile. Notes of earth, espresso, and a dense array of sweet and spicy notes characterize its smooth, complex profile. As it burns, the strength and flavors intensify perfectly before an exciting finale. There’s something really special with this one, and knowing how near and dear to AJ this blend is, they planned it that way all along.

My new go to. Love the taste, kind of lemony with a hint of pepper. Smooth draw, never had a problem with any of these.

New World Robusto
While not the BEST AJ cigar, I give this full marks for being a fantastic smoke at a good price. I bought a box and it has been a good summer staple. Consistently good draw, even burn, with great construction and appearance. To me it has a peppery flavor that mellows as it progresses, and is an excellent choice for an afternoon or evening cigar.

Incredible composition and flavor!
I have been trying 90+ rated cigars for about 4 years and feel that I have found the best of the inventory with this cigar. It is a work of art and it satisfied me with no bite and full flavor down to the final inch. Flawless construction needing no re-light, perfect and consistent draw from the initial ash to the final nub. Produces a graceful "bluish" swirl of smoke when held and the flavor was prominent, rich, stalwart but smooth. Prior to lighting it smelled like a fired cheroot which made me suspicious. I don't generally enjoy a fired tobacco stick, but this cigar did not that harsh flavor. Easily justified the 2014 top rating and this will accompany my E.P. Carrillo La Historia and the La Gloria Cubana series R, Habano dark at the top of my list. Tremendous Cigar!

A Tremendous Work Of Art!
Received two personal recommendations and with this cigar being rated #1 for 2014, I ventured a try of the Ribusto, 5 pack. Cigar is well constructed, rolled well in my fingers, and after two days in my humidor I fired it up. Before lighting I noticed that the cigar smelled rich but similar to "fired" cheroot types, which I do not care for. I carefully punctured the end with a straight metal stylus instead of my punch. Put 3 holes in the cigar, about 1.5 inches into the end. Carefully and twirled the cigar with about 20 seconds of butane 3 flames and never had to re-light. Burn was even and consistent to the 1 inch remaining point then I retired the stick. The cigar is a work of art, similar to the E. P. Carrillo La Historian but without that bite, even when the end was pretty soggy. Smooth smoke flow, the same quality and volume for the entire cigar, beginning to end. Full bodied in my view, tasty, unique, and consistent. This is a well done piece of art, it is an excellent cigar, super construction, and a flavor that is probably the best I have ever experienced in my 4 year tenure as a neophyte smoker. Excellent cigar, surely deserves the 2014 Award, I will order a box but go up in size from 5.5" tomorrow morning. Exceptional cigar, one of the very very best and I have consistently tried sticks rated higher than 90 for the past 4 years.

New fan of the New World cigar by AJ Fuentes
As a fan of the AJ Fuentes San Lotano Bull and Oval cigars, I was interested to try out his new release called the New World as a med-full blend. This is a great addition to an already popular line that is smooth, flavorful, and rewarding. I have added it to my top favorites for future orders. (waiting for the Enclave too)

Customer Testimonials
This is an absolutely delicious cigar! AJ does it again. Tons of flavor and an affordable price point.
I stumbled upon these gems and I am glad I did. By far one of my favorite cigars! Amazing flavors at an amazing price per stick.
These are supreme cigars and they go great after a spicy meal.
A very good friend give me 10 of these and I'm not a word smith but wonderful flumes of easy draw smoke with flavor galore. A must have in any respectable humidor, I've found them to be better than most expensive cigars, but if you're a budget smoker you wouldn't understand!
A smooth blend. Does not have the spice I am used to from AJ, but still provides a very smooth smoke. Great for someone that does not smoke cigars often, but would like to smoke something nice. When looking at the price it is worth the price per stick, but I would not call it his finest work. If you are looking for something smooth go ahead, but if you want something with more kick I suggest a Fallen Angel or a Man O' War.
And another winner by my man, AJ Fernandez!
I just finished smoking the Robusto. I agree with previous poster: this is a mild to medium smoke. First 3rd: very light spice on retro hale and a hint of coffee. 2nd third: no spice and a change to a mocha like flavor. Final 3rd to nub: got more chocolate like all the way to the nub. Construction: A+. Ash didn't fall off till halfway point. Smoke was medium thick. Very short finish through whole cigar. This cigar just kept getting better flavor wise the longer it went. This would be a fantastic cigar paired with a cafe mocha or a chocolate beer in the fall or a cold morning. Smoking time 1hr 25 mins. I will definitely put a few of these away for those cold mornings that require a large cafe mocha to get my day started. I give it a 90.
I almost don't want to say how much I like this New World by Fernandez. If everyone catches on, they will go up in price. But, I have to be honest and say that to me, a person that smokes more than 30 cigars per week, this is absolutely one of the best cigars I have ever smoked. The only cigar that comes to mind that I like better is the OpusX. Bravo Sr. Fernandez!
A good flavor and burns evenly. Smooth in taste.
Smoking the robusto size as I type this. I'm pretty damned impressed. My favorite so far is still the Ruination, but it's kind of hard to pick a favorite when there's so many good offerings from AJ's selections. Might have to get a box of these and let them age. For the price, I have no complaints!
What a sexy cigar! Beautiful white smoke. Nice little kick. So smooth. Excited to smoke another!!!
Really nice cigar. Construction, burn, and draw were flawless, and with a boat load of flavor. So rich, its like that feeling you get after eating too many fried Oreos.......but in a good way. Little bit of a nicotine hit toward the end, but I thoroughly enjoyed this cigar. Highly recommend!
Love this cigar, I bought a couple at my favorite cigar store and really enjoyed them. They are one of my favorites. I would say they are mild to medium and I will definitely be ordering more of these.
I'm a big A.J fan, but this cigar (6.5 x 55) not so much. Very thin smoke for the first half with a lemony-grassy taste. The second half developed into a nicotine bomb and any flavor that was there? was completely overpowered by the strength kick. Much rather smoke a San Lotano, MOW, Pinolero or Pueblo Dominicano. Construction was excellent and burn was even, but it just didn't float my boat.
I enjoyed this beautiful cigar at a A.J. Fernandez new release event in Orlando. Two things I can say about this cigar that are exactly on point. 1- It's most definitely not a medium to full-bodied cigar. It is a mild to medium. 2- Almost no "spice" in the cigar. This cigar is perfect for the new or novice smoker. Or a smoker that doesn't like that added spice kick. A+ Nailed it A.J. Will be ordering a box of these babies.
Smoked the Toro size. Constructed well, easy draw, steady burn, strong, grassy, woody with some cocoa in the back round. Not the best effort from A.J. Fernandez, needs some humidor time. Will try again after putting them to sleep for a month.
Absolutely love this cigar. Very nice draw and full of flavor. I'm a box press fan anyway so this cigar has it all for me. This will be the primary cigar in my humidor.
AJ's new blend is outrageously delicious. I was at first a little bit upset with the appearance of the cigar since it looks like an exact duplicate of some other brands.... All in all I love the new AJ Fernandez New World and I would recommend you pick out a few singles or a five pack. You will not be disappointed.
