General Grant

America....hell yeah!

Few things scream America like this new red, white, and blue beauty by the name of General Grant. These handcrafted, freehand-style cigars pay homage to old American traditions of cigar making. If you're looking to impress your buddies on the golf course, keep looking. But if you're in search of an everyday handmade with great flavor and a ridiculously low per-stick price, General Grant's right in your wheelhouse.

Very Surprised!!!
I was very skeptical at such a price. I wanted an everyday smoke that would not break the bank. I found it. General Grant cigars are a mild not too harsh end of the day smoke. It burns very well and even. If you are looking for a good everyday type of cigar, General Grants will certainly meet your expectations.

Very disappointed
Understood when I purchase them they were inexpensive but I was still very disappointed. Nothing special for flavour and they do not stay lit, not packed well. Contemplating throwing them on the garbage.

Gen Grant good value
CI correctly bills these when it says that 'if you want to impress others, keep looking but if you want a quick decent smoke these are for you. Not as smooth as Cohiba miniatures or Pequenos but if you fit the above description these are a good value.

Disappointed
Although this cigar is okay for a quick smoke, I was disappointed in it size and body. Taste is just okay. Again, for an inexpensive cigar I should have known better.

what is there to say
General Grant, General Grant Cigar, Refined?,No. Sophisticated? No. Cosmopolitan? No.Both G’s are short, rough around the edges, and won’t be invited to any “swanky parties in DC” but here is what they do…. they both get the job done with no BS. “nuff said

i will by Beneral Grant Corona again.
good value. a short smoke is good when you don't have all day or it is cold out.

For the size, they deliver !
Lets be realistic, small cigars are not as good as large cigars, so don't even try to compare these to a $25 Churchill, OK. But for the size and price, these really deliver. Living in Colorado, I was looking for a quicker smoke for walking my dogs on the coming cold evenings. If you read the description, you will find they are exactly what it says. I will be buying more of these, and recommend you do the same.

Great Go to Cigar
I've smoked General Grants for over a year. The are a great tasting little cigar ;full of good tobacco flavor. they are my go to smoke when I don't have time for a larger premium cigar. I highly recommend them;moreover, they are priced right.

OK Smoke, for the price.
The price was not bad. Bought because of the historical significance to President/General US Grant. The smoke was ok but not the greatest. Rough taste but was satisfactory. I Rx that when drawing on this cigar that you draw mildly. In that way the rough taste of the tobacco of this cigar is lessened. Still for a Dominican Corona not bad especially with a nice cool beer. Draw mildly!

Great Little Cigar
The General Grant cigarillos are a great little cigar. I generally don't have an hour or so to sit and smoke a cigar. The General Grant cigarillos are great little smokes that clock in around the 10 minute mark. More often than not, I just chew on them while I'm working or doing chores. At 50 cents a stick, you can't beat them for price either!

Not good
Probably 35 out of 50 tunneled, most smoked hot after the first inch or so, some came unraveled. Just not a good value.

Great weeknight cigar
When you don't have time to smoke a long drawn out cigar, or that cigar ended and you just want a little more the General Grant is perfect. I love them!

I was not impressed.
The box is cool. This is the nastiest cigar I have ever had. Wish I never bought them. This sits somewhere between backwoods gas station cigars and smoking a dry stick. Don't buy them.

quick smoke
Nice quick little smoke. Packed a little loose.

Good Smoke, sometimes a little harsh
It’s a good, quick smoke. I like the rougher outer wrap. Sometimes it comes across with some medium to harsher notes. And sometimes it burns a little uneven, but overall, a good smoke. I was looking for something I could smoke on the lake, before heading into the office. And this fits the bill. I don’t always have 45+ minutes to devote to a good cigar. This a good cigar, in 15+ minutes. Would recommend.

General Grant Corona
These are a great everyday cigar. For the most part, I find that they have a nice flavor and finish. Perfect for a half hour smoke. I only rated these at 4 stars for the fact that occasionally you may hit a bitter spot now and again.

Be a Patriot
Like the description says...move on if your goal is to impress. This said, this little guy can do just that. First, the size. Certainly a good stick to complete a smoke in a short time. Multi tasking? This stick allows you to enjoy a smoke and repair a sash, mow your lawn or watch a sprinkler go tic tic. The burn is always the same (several boxes in), medium to hot with a clean ash. The taste, and while at times hot which a cigar this size can bring you, is mild to medium with a tast of coffee. Bring the whole damn box to your next outdoor event (the 4th) and you will not lose friends. You will be that patriotic guy with good old american charm. Go red white and blue!

Good Dollar Sticks
Not bad. I was looking for a cheap stick to smoke while working at the scrap yard. Definitely not a pairing for a glass of good whiskey, but more than good enough for outdoor work and a few beers.

Great Cigars
These cigars are just as good as the description said they were. They are smooth and have a nice flavor. They are quick enough for me to smoke, yet take enough time to smoke to actually enjoy them. My only complaint is the wrap will fall of when cut from time to time, but nothing to fret over.

Not so good
These are not very good cigars. Not worth the money. They burn fast and are loosely rolled.

Great Cigar, Cool Vintage
I like the shape and the authentic rolling of the General Grant cigar. It has a nice medium body to it and is a great bargain as well.
4 out of 5
General Grant.... General who?
Great cigar, mild, fine taste. The filler is a little less packed than in a Cuban, but the price differential, how can you complain! One thing for management; the late, great historian, Shelby Foote said that the Civil War gave us two great men; Abraham Lincoln and general N.B. Forrest. While I heartily agree with his assessment of the latter, I would hardly agree about the former. Anyway, why not a cigar named after a general of the Confederacy? If Bedford Forrest is too politically incorrect for you, how about Stonewall Jackson? You could use the REAL flag of the Confederacy, the seven star flag and that way you would not inflame the ignorant sensibilities of those offended by the Confederate battle flag. Think on it.

I carry these on the bike, they are good short break cigars, granted nothing fancy but a good "spot filler". I have had a few with an interesting burn pattern. for the price they are worth having for the golf bag or the saddle bag

Great bargain stick
I have been a fan of these cigars for a couple of years now. They were hard to find for a while, but I am happy to say I can once again add them to my assortment, and enjoy them when I don't have the time for a longer smoking cigar.

Cigars are damp and they are not worth the money.
I ordered two boxes of these and they are not worth the money. My cigars were all actually damp to the touch. I am hoping that they will dry out, so that I can smoke them. I won't buy these again! Not worth the money.

U.S. Grant
The cigars are as advertised in appearance. I laughed at the size of the box, so small but each cigar offers an easy tobacco flavor, perfect for grilling or mowing the lawn. I have given several away for friends to enjoy.

Well Done
Cigars International is excellent in all areas. They always have the cigars I want at a reasonable price. The cigars are delivered promptly and are always fresh. My winter cigar of choice is the "General Grant Cigarillo". It is that perfect cigar when you only have 10-15 minutes, which is important here in New England's winter climate. I highly recommend this cigarillo for it's taste and smooth burn. You can't go wrong in purchasing a box of these!
4 out of 5
More than expected
Bought a box not expecting much, and got quite a lot. Good smoke for quick break or winter time (about 25 minutes). It is, as others have indicated, a little loose and it does get a little more... "Character" as it gets shorter, but well worth the $. I'm ordering my second box now.

If you're looking for an easy smoking, mild cigar for working around the house, or just kicking it pool-side, then this is your go-to. Good enough for me.
Really, not a bad cigar. Burns evenly, the taste is good, and it smokes in about 30 minutes.the only drawback is that the wrapping on some of them is loose causing a slight uneven burn and little resistance in the drag. But all in all a good cigar.

Great Little Yard Cigar
I usually smoke the General Grant while working in around the yard. It's a mild smoke that lasts about a half hour. Though the end is pre-cut the tobacco doesn't get to messy around your lip. This isn't a high-end cigar. It is however a wonderful cigar at a tasty price.

A SALUTE TO GENERAL GRANT!!
These are neat smokes! Bought a box because the price was good and I felt that I couldn’t go to far wrong. If it’s a 92 rated smoke you’re looking for, these are definitely not for you, but if you want a reasonable, down to earth, everyday treat, and one that won’t break the bank, these are definitely what you are looking for. They are gentle in the beginning but can get a bit harsh at the very end, but all in all, it’s a good time and a good smoke. Works great if you don’t have a lot of time to smoke. o matter how you smoke it, it’s a good deal for the price.

HAIL TO THE CHIEF!!! OUTSTANDING
Read all the reviews. I find no fault in any respect to these fine little corona's. The appearance was exactly as described and exactly what I was expecting. I loved the natural wrapper. Loved the taste and loved the excellent aroma. I am a mild cigar man and the General Grant's are the best value for the money. In fact the value exceeded the price. Great smoke. No unraveling. Lasted me 30 mins. Not hot bitterness at end. Thanks, Grandad

Customer Testimonials
Let's tally it up - inexpensive, very tasty, 15-20 minute smoke (who has the time for a 1-2 hour Churchill?), interesting looking, nice box... After smoking one, I feel like I could lead the Union army and take Richmond. Wait, I live in Richmond. Hmmm. After smoking a box of these, my skin cleared up, I became fluent in Hebrew, women started following me home, I was able to fly (and sing) like a bird, and bullies stopped kicking sand in my face at the beach and started asking me for whatever it was I was smoking. My advice with these babies is to only smoke one at a time and don't wait for a lightning strike to light them - use a match and you can smoke one whenever you'd like. Throw away all your other cigars once you get these; better yet, send all your other cigars to me and I'll be your friend for life. Excelsior!
Not a bad smoke, but not too much there. Kinda like two bites of beef and all veggies.
I've waited to post my review until I had smoked a few. Overall, I am really pleased with these. I bought them because I was looking for an old-style looking cigar, something that reminds me of the Clear Havanas from the 1950s that I'll sometimes buy. These are a bit rougher looking, but overall they're the right size and shape. They smoke great from start to finish, with a bit of change about 2/3 of the way through. The only thing I wish I could change would be the loose roll, as others have mentioned. But for a lunchtime, 20-minute smoke, these are perfect.
Great job here if you don't mind the looks. A good solo smoke if you like somewhat short ones.
I was able to try a box during one of CI's specials. These are better than a lot of small cigars, both in flavor and in construction. I did try one within a day or two of receiving them, but I didn't have any issues. Those that have been in the humidor for a while have only gotten better. They ain't Macanudos, but they aren't bad.
Surprisingly delicious! They're ugly little guys, but they exude pillowy clouds of smoke. These pups have notes of cedar and cream with a pleasant sweetness at the finish. These are good 20 minute smokes. I puff on these while working out in the yard and while shooting at the gun club. These things are a steal!
Greatest buy for the cost. Smooth, perfect smoke and just right to share.
Great little cigar; my girl enjoys them, too!
nice little backyard smoke -- good for a quick smoke.
Not the best looking cigar, my brother-in-law turned me on to these. Gotta admit they are an outstanding smoke. Great daily cigar; smooth, tasty and smoke very nice. Already ordered 2 bundles and will get more when needed.
Not the most aesthetically appealing cigar but they have an old fashioned look to them. Great for a daily casual smoke. Don't want to spend a long time smoking one of your more expensive cigars, or maybe you just need something to do while driving. The taste is good as well and it produces plenty of smoke along with a very pleasant aroma. I'll get another box when I run out.
I am 83 years old & believe me I've smoked a lot of the high dollar cigars in my lifetime. This General Grant Corona in my opinion is the best ever. I have 2 humidors @100 cigars each & I'm ready & going to order enough to fill both. It's not the best looking cigar but smoking it is a pleasant surprise. Buy them & you won't be disappointed.
I have to admit, I wasn't expecting much when I ordered this cigar, I was looking for an everyday stogie so I wouldn't be smoking my good stuff. I was really surprised by the cigar. It's very smooth and creamy. Let it sit in the humidor for a couple of weeks and it'll get even better. Definitely order this stogie it's awesome, my new favorite daily driver.
Nice little treats from time to time. These are not for the faint of heart they are full body smokes from start to finish.
I was hesitant to buy these cigars but recently I decided to try them out. WOW, these are really good. Well rounded flavor to them. Not too complex but sometimes that is a good thing. From the first draw to the last the flavor remains constant. You will really enjoy these low cost cigars. Sometimes CHEAP does NOT refer to the quality.
I love the little suckers! Great taste and budget friendly. Wouldn't win any awards, but who cares if it's good?
First cigar was dry but smoked okay. Week in the humidor is just what it needed. Rolled a little loose and discovered on the second cigar I didn't need to snip the end. Already had a small hole which makes it a better smoke. Flavor okay and I would buy again. Good with a cup of coffee.
They're a little smaller than expected, but they're good little smokes.
It is an OK smoke. I guess I did not realize how small they were....
I watched the video and when the guy said they looked mangy I thought that's me. So I bought a box. My first one was soft as mentioned in the video but burned ok. I got big fingers and wanted to smash them. So I put a few out and let them dry much better. Nice funky cigar drag slow on them good taste hot at end, but every cigar comes to the end. Smoked to the nub. I had my fire extinguisher handy. Will buy again enjoying my box.
I've fallen in love, very good cigar, reasonably priced, and a very smooth tasty smoke, I was amazed at how well they burn, I've got Mac's and R&J's that don't smoke as well. This has become my after dinner smoke. Buy em up before they get pricey.
These are some good smokes my friend! I gave some to a co-worker and he agrees. They light easy, burn nice, and taste pretty good. I think General Grant would be proud to have these cigars named after him.
Just bought a box of these a little while ago. All I can say is that these are some very tasty little cigars. I usually smoke Arturo Fuente and Rocky Patel but these have started to become my daily smoke. Very light taste with a hint of vanilla. Love everything about these cigars. The musty free hand look just adds to the uniqueness. I am already placing an order for a few more boxes. Also great on the golf course, I usually smoke Padrons, Arturo Fuente or Rocky Patels when I tee off, but since I have been smoking these they have helped me improve my game. The light mellow taste just helps you relax
WoW!!! I read the reviews on this cigar and thought i'd give it a try. Love this cigar!! Im in Afghanistan and when these American bad boys came they were just what General Grant would of wanted on the battlefield, something juicy. Me and my boys love this cigar.
This is a great every day cigar. Not much on looks; however, if you are looking at sitting down relaxing after a hard days work and want a 30 minute smoke this is a good one to smoke.
Impressive... will purchase again.
Excellent smoke and a tremendous value .Suberb packaging .These really surprised me ! A smoth and mellow way for me to kick back for a short time and just enjoy the day . Terrific with morning coffee !
A bit strong, but not bad for a quick smoke....
Great everyday cigar. Mild cigar and lasts about 20 minutes. great for golf or a short reading period.
Great smoke among my favorites
Just got these today, was surprised by the size and full flavor wrapped up in all its awesomeness! Delicious from start to finish; almost a "sweet spot" in a whole stick! Amazing and the price is ridiculous! I love this company and now have a new fav with the General! Thanx again, CI; The Count is please!! ^V^V^
A little ruff looking, but a very good smoke. Its an everyday smoke for me now.
Freaking great cigars for the money. these are perfect for my drive to work. Just as full of flavor as most 6-12 dollar sticks with out the guilt of having to put it out. they burn kinda funny but heck the taste awesome and have oodles of character. gotta get more of these.
Excellent yard 'gar. Really can't find a better smoke for <1$. No maintenance after lit and good draw.
Grabbed a box to share for a last work day of 2013 and didn't get a 'negative' from anyone. Good, straightforward smoke that got the job done and back to work! Not complex and would make the 'General' proud. I have a couple sitting in the humidor, it will be interesting to see how they taste after sitting for a spell. Grab a box and enjoy - can't go wrong!
This is an awesome little cigar! Just right for a coffee break at work! I'm on my 5th box now.
Great Cigar bought a box and was shocked and the great flavor of this little cigar has. I will for sure buy another box!
Not quite sure how these burn so well - they are VERY loosely rolled, possibly the loosest I've come across. How that doesn't screw up the burn, I dunno. But it doesn't, so I'm happy with the purchase. As others have said, these make a good morning smoke with coffee, with flavors ranging from meh to not bad at all. General Grant - when you don't mind going cheap.
GEN Grant loved his Cigars...this one would have made him proud that it was named after him. His nemesis... Lt Gen Longstreet loved his cigars too...and he even offered a cigar to Grant, on the day those two old warriors...officially met AFTER the Civil War. Of course both were young officers in the Mexican War. Longstreet and Grant were unique in their own right, and so is this damn fine Cigar...and I think you will certainly agree...:>
Definitely a nice, mild everyday cigar that I don't mind handing out and recommending to friends who would otherwise avoid cigars. And I can't argue with the price.
These smokes were so loosely wrapped that when I lit the first one it side burned more than half way down.
Well, I read the reviews before I purchased the General Grants. I have to say, I was disappointed, even though my expectations were low already. There was no flavor at all, no body to the cigar, and just not worth it, despite the price point. For a low end cigar, the munnie makers are a much more robust and complex cigar. I'd stay away from the General Grants based on my experience. Since there were only positive reviews for the Grant's, I thought I should share my experience to add some balance. Thanks. MP
Great smoke for the price. Puff too fast and the last bit gets this NASTY NASTY chemical taste. Smoke slow and your good to go. Will buy more. No questions asked.
Wonderful cigar for a buck a piece! If you are looking for an inexpensive cigar it is hard to beat this one!
As the song says,"my girl's ugly but she she can cook." Well worth the price for a simple medium bodied 20 min smoke.
I was obviously skeptical of a dollar per stick smoke, like most people would be, but these are great little smokes. Great when you just want a quick smoke and one that will taste good also. When you don't want to bust out the big boys, this is the one to go to. I told myself that I was going to like these no matter what at this price, but I didn't have to convince myself after I smoked the first one. These will be in my humi from here on out. Thanks CI!
An ugly little stick, but one of the better tasting small ones I've tried. And for the price you can't ask for better. I'll keep buying while they're around. Another good one CI. I knew there was a reason I've stuck with you!!
WELL, they won't be on the cover of your favorite magazine nor on T.V. But GENERAL GRANTS are a good everyday smoke, and I know it; I'm on my 6th box. Thank you C.I. for a good non-Cuban smoke finally.
After purchasing over 250+ cigars from this website, this is in the top 25. Its an ugly cigar, but it's a great draw with lots of flavor. About to purchase me another box now. My cigars buddies all love this cigar as well
This little cigar is perfect for occasions when there is not a lot of time for a smoke. I'm in my 2nd box of them. They burn evenly and draw smoothly with lots of smoke. They're perfect with a cup of coffee in the morning, which I'm enjoying as I write this.
These look like a 4 year-old with ADHD rolled them, but they taste great! They burn great! They are light, and smoke and draw great! They are cheap! I've overused my exclamation points, but it is all true.
Just got a box of these and what a pleasant surprise. Flavor wise, these are an earthy tobacco and mild strength. It has good smoke output and after several of them, I have had no burn issues at all. It does go out rather quickly if put down for a few minutes. I typically get a 20-25 minute burn on this cigar which makes it perfect when I don't have a long time. This is just a great tobacco flavor cigar when you want a quick smoke. Definitely pick up a box of these.
Not a bad little smoke under a dollar a stick.
These are very tasty and decently robust. So much good flavor, I almost thought they may had been infused with some chocolatey flavor, but no, they're totally natural. Also love the natural, hand-rolled shape. Each individual cigar seems unique. And at such a low price, it's a great deal.
The delightfully tasty ugly duckling. A great lunch time smoke for a quick puff!
When I opened them, I was a little concerned because they are smaller than the picture makes them appear. (Not as small as a cigarillo though) But after lighting one up and smoking it, I was happy to have ordered them and I can say I will be ordering them again.
I went golfing and smoked 2 of these. My game improved dramatically. Thanks, CI.
Take it to the golf course for a laugh. When it's smoked, boy, will they be surprised. 'GEE HOW COME THIS AWFUL LOOKING CIGAR SMOKES WELL AND TASTES GREAT! then, "HOLY SCHNIKEY'S ONLY HOW MUCH!? I'M BUYING SOME OF THESE!'. Oh, boy, these are a tasty treat!
Great cigar for everyday occasions. I plan on buying them again.
I bought these cigars because I wanted something cheap as an everyday smoke. They came fresh, soft, and lite up great. It smokes even and tastes great. After smoking a couple I have become a believer! They are great in the morning or in the evening. Send me some more!
Was nervous about these, as I've never heard of them and they are only a dollar each. They aren't very good looking and they are smaller then I thought they'd be. But wow, are they amazing. The taste is so rich and smooth. I was looking for something that I could just have all day and not spend a ton of money. They last the perfect amount of time and you'll be surprised by how good they are!
4 stars and the Presidential Medal of Honor should go to this cigar. Damn, the tobacco is as good as any. Burns well, draws well, quick light. Why pay all the the hype for a cigar rolled by an overpaid priss. Pay for these. Take em golfing.
Bought these because other old fashioned cigars are hard for me to get in CA, and boxes of 50 are too many. Took a chance on these having smoked others like Marsh Wheelings, Munnimakers, Judge's Cave, Ibold, Topper, Evermores etc. Gen Grant cigars are better in my opinion. First, I like the natural wrapper as opposed to maduro, and these cigars smoke cool and have just the right amount of flavor and strength. They do burn fast, so even though a corona size cigar they are loosely packed, and sort of look like a huge Backwoods cigar in construction, but with no filler hanging out the head. They are not harsh at all, and if you clip the foot properly, they won't unravel either. They look mangy, but they are truly a good smoke with a nice finish. As long as they are made, I will buy them.
Best damn 'yard-gar and fishing cigar I've ever smoked. It's well worth the price. Pick some up today. You'll be glad you did.
Great everyday smoke!
General Grant is an exceptional smoke. Was skeptical at first about these, but wow, I love these little cigars. I keep a box of Aroma De Cuba, and they will always be my brand, but a backyard BBQ, mowing the grass, a hard day of work and a strong cocktail, or 3 am and I can't sleep so I make a pot of coffee, these cigars match perfect. When the friends come over I break out the Aromas, but when I want a quick smoke that taste just as good as a name brand premium. These little cigars will always have a space in my humidor. Thank you Cigar International for giving me the chance to experience these perfect little cigars.
Got these through the MMAO program just to try and boy was I surprised! Cheap as they are they deliver a great smoke. Will buy again, can't help but feel like I've just won the war in 1865..
These cigars, introduced to me by a good friend and co-worker, are a new favorite for us. At a buck a piece they're tastier, and a better smoke then some 6 buck sticks I've tried. These hand-rolled cigars are soft to the touch and felt more moist then I'm accustomed to but burned extremely well and held their shape until the very end, which for me was about 15 minutes and about a 1/8 inch nub. Try these, they won't disappoint!
This is a tasty smoke, nice tobacco flavor. They are loose rolled, therefore a little soft to the touch. Very hand-rolled, somewhat moist, but burn well. Nice sittin'-by-the-campfire smoke. and good bang for the buck.
Damn ugly cigar, but well worth the dollar per stick price, great morning smoke. Performed better than expected. Will purchase again. Thank you CI
