CAO Amazon Basin was a release unlike anything before. The secret sauce behind the success was tobacco called Braganca which only comes from remote regions in the Amazon rainforest. With the tobacco only being harvested every couple of years, and the process of transporting it by canoe, describing it as rare may be an understatement. Originally released in 2023, Amazon Basin Extra Anejo uses the same blend in 2026. These limited-edition bad boys were rolled in 2024 and were kept in aging rooms to fully reach their potential. The extra aging adds to the complexity and deepens the flavor into something truly special. The blend utilizes a Nicaraguan binder and premium Dominican, Colombian, and the elusive Braganca long-filler tobaccos. The Braganca emerges from deep in the Amazon and shines in this medium to full-bodied beaut. Toast the foot and you’ll enjoy nuance of fruit and an earthiness you won’t find anywhere else.
