In a word: Epic.
Torano…the name has been synonymous with premium cigars for just about a century. Charlie Torano, the man at the helm of this steamboat of delicious handmade goodness, is a fourth generation in the tobacco industry who has inherited a passion for the leaf, and lucky for us, he retains the knowledge and wisdom of his fore-fathers. At hand today, the culmination of years of tireless study in the fields, and hours of meticulous blending strategies. Enter, Torano Noventa.
The Noventa was carefully crafted to celebrate the Torano family’s 90 years of tobacco growing and cigar-making. A Nicaraguan puro, the Noventa is expertly blended using a vintage mixture of premium, 5-year-old Nicaraguan long-leaf tobaccos from four growing regions, wrapped in a thick and oily Habano Nicaraguan leaf. Aged further after rolling, the Noventa achieves a rich and robust experience that’s smooth and perfectly balanced. A luxurious medium-bodied super-premium from the Torano family.Torano Noventa received an outstanding, '90' rating. Here's what the experts had to say: "An ideal draw offers a creamy balance of woody, sweet notes and a peppery finish."
After giving these the eyeball for a few years, I finally bought a box of the Robusto. I was instantly hooked. Then I let them sit in the humidor for a few weeks, and it was a whole new experience all over again. I immediately ordered a box of Latin (torpedoes) and have found a go-to smoke for almost any occasion. I don't know how they retail for $345.00 and sell for $89.00, but I don't question it. Amazing burn, easy draw, and flavors that don't overwhelm, but linger. Construction is excellent, packaging is amazing, and the price... oh the price. You will not be disappointed with these amazing Nicaraguan puros.
I ordered a box of these a few weeks ago and have just about convinced myself I need to order another already. These are very smooth and make a great smoke while cruising home after work. Normally I hate rush hour traffic but with one of these billowing beauties in my mouth I almost forget about the other guys acting a fool on the road. The cigars are great looking, have a nice smooth and easy draw, rich flavor and not too strong. I would say on the milder side of things.
....The taste and quality of the Torano Noventa easily exceed cigars of 2-3x the cost (even here). I'm picky about giving across the board top scores to anything, but these certainly earn all five stars!
My 1st review as a newbie to the cigar world. (1 year) I received a Torano Noventa Robusto in the CI Sizzler #10, Frickin Fantastic!! Great burn and ash right to the nub! No relights or poker to keep the smoke rolling, taste was smooth to the end, not bitter, this cigar will be in my humidor in the future, in torpedo.
Great stick at a good value. The 90 has become my go to smoke.
These are among my favorite smokes, my "special occasion" cigar as they're probably not going to be around much longer and I'd like to have some after they're no longer available. I love Torano's cigars and these are worthy of the name.
Wow. It's like PS of Columbus OH was reading my mind. Bought a bundle on special a few months ago and still have about 5 or 6 sticks left that I just can't get excited about firing up. Bring back the maduro version. They were much better.
The Torano Noventa is without a doubt one of the best tasting, most favorable cigars I have ever purchased. I will continue to purchase them as long as they are available.
Absolutely love this cigar. Great flavor; I just can't find any flaws with it. Please do not run out of this cigar as I enjoy having it in my humidor. On second thought, don't buy this cigar so I can have them all.
The Noventa (to my subjective palate) is on the lighter side of medium. Starting off with flavors of burnt toast and nice bold tobacco flavor, mellows in 8-10 puffs to a quite earthy-tasting smoke with faint hints of mild coffe-esque notes. Overall a nice cigar. I bought a box based on previous customer reviews and was not disappointed. Not the best smoke I've had to date, nonetheless a good solid smoke that holds up to Torano's reputation. Worth a 5 pack at least.
Love them. As a newbie to "real cigars" I find these perfect. It doesn't take to long to smoke one and they last just the right amount of time. Flavor is great. Thanks to my brother-in-law for turning me on to these fine cigars and Cigars International.
No complaints about this proud product of Nicaragua and hoping for many more decades of cigarmaking expertise. I buy the Noventa in my favorite robusto size.
This torpedo stands up to the Carlos Torano name and quality. It has become a staple in my main humidor.
Great cigars in a beautiful box!
LOVE,LOVE,LOVE these cigars. For those who have not try this cigar your missing out and for those who have tried them and didn't like that's okay it just means more for me.
Ok smoke but wrapper kind of papery. Not a great bargain.
This was included in CI's First-class premium cigar sampler, advertised in Time magazine. Part of an eight stick deal, available for $10. Folks, watch for this ad, as it expires August 15, 2014. Very smooth, even smoke with a pleasant aroma and not at all overpowering flavor. Definitely a Medium strength.
Wow, a very nice presentation and even better smoke! I gave a box of these beauties as a wedding gift to the groom, he absolutely loved them and really enjoyed handing them out. I know cigars, having smoked some of the worlds finest. This is a well made, very tasty cigar with a medium body and interesting to the very end. Next box is for me! CI as always, great service and price!
I can't wait to try this Toraño Noventa Robusto. Robusto is the only vitola that I use to smoke, its dimensions are just perfect. I had a mazo of Toraño Hogs Head and I was amazed by the quality construction and how evenly they smoke. I am sure that this Noventa will do the same.....
I purchased the Santiago. I find it to be inconsistent from stick to stick. When it's good, it's just alright. When it's bad, it's terrible....I've decided to leave it alone in the humidor and come back to it in a few months. So far the best part of the Torano is the awesome box.
A perfect medium bodied cigar for weekend mornings and coffee. I have read the reviews about construction issues, but mine has a firm white Ash, even burn, and a great draw will be buying a box for the weekend morning smokes.
These are very tasty cigars, especially considering the discounted price. It starts out in a warm cedary whirlwind then smooths out into cedar mixed with leather and slight hints of dark chocolate. Great construction and good value.
Gotta say this is a great cigar to start your evening with. good medium flavor that doesn't ruin your palate for other cigars. Great purchase!
Great medium bodied cigar. You really can't beat it for the price. I will buy again.
The best Torano I've smoked and I've just about smoked them all. A Smooth, Rich and rewarding smoke.
Bought a box of the Latins(Torpedo) a year ago. They were in my humidor for two months.... Would not stay lit and had a terribly hard draw. Dry boxed these cigars for nearly ten months and they have finally morphed into a pretty decent smoke. I can now smoke them without having to re-light every couple minutes and have what I consider a very good taste. Just not really worth the wait.
A friend of mine turned me on to a couple of the smokes. Well constructed and a pleasure to smoke. Even burn providing a medium body of flavor. You simply can't get a better stick at this price point. Treat yourself while a few are still available. Thanks Keith!
Had the robusto and it was wonderful. Then bought the torpedo and....not so much. Very poor burn and very off flavor. Not good.
Great smoke nice medium strength cigar gave a couple to one of my buddies and he wanted the rest of the box, he tried to buy some but they were on back order. Can't wait to get another box especially at the CI price.
Excellent smoke!!!
I thought this looked like a really good deal so I picked up a box. I've smoked about a third of the box, and given away a few. My self, and everyone I've given them to say the same thing. It's not a bad stick, just not a great one either. The flavor is a little to 'boring' for me personally. I've got twelve or so left from the box and keep wanting to smoke them to make more room, but I always end up going to something else. Maybe I'll just give away few more to keep dwindling down the supply.
I purchased some of these a few months back....multiple re-lights required. They are like sucking ice cubes through a straw...
I have had other town Toranos before and though they were very good cigars. I seen the italia on a daily deal so I jumped on it. They have been sitting in my humi for about a month. I smoked one the other day and had nothing but problems. It would not stay lit nor when it was lit burn very good and produced little to no smoke. Not very pleased with this line of Toranos. Next ones I get will be the 50 years.
this is one of the best cigars i have smoked so far. This as a real nice flavor with a medium body strength. So when the torpedo popped up on joe cigar daily deal I jumped on it. (BIG.E)
Got 10 of these on a "Joe Cigar" deal. First I love the flavor. Great tobacco and earth involved. On the Medium to Full side of the strength. I've smoked 3 now and each one has had construction issues. Uneven burn, tight draw. The 3rd one had a major stem still in the bunch which I was able to pull out and it smoked wonderful after that. Hopefully the next 7 will be better. I love the flavor, construction is weak.
This is the first box I ever bought, and boy did I pick a good one! Great deal, and a great smoke! In my opinion this cigar stands up to some of the greatest I've ever smoked. Will definitely buy another box in the future.
Carlos Torano is my brand of choice. The 50 year and the Noventa are the best two lines they produce. Search as long as you want, you will not find a better smoke for a better price than the Noventa from CI. I will keep my humidor stocked with them until the day they are no longer available.
Great cigar, received one in a sampler pack. I do not really buy boxes but after trying this cigar I purchased a box at a great price from CI.
Thanks to the great Summer Vacation Mega Sampler from CI, a Torano Noventa was included in the pack. I'm not going to pretend to know what all of the flavors taste like, but I will say that my 350 count humidor is full of top shelf cigars. Because of this, it allows me to see how this cigar stands up against a San Cristobol, La Auroa 107, & a few Cubans. Without a doubt, this is a cigar with a flavor that could be enjoyed by mild to full body smokers. Having smoked the Torano Vault, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at the great taste of this one. Not trying to tell you what to do, only suggesting what I think you will like. Purchase the Summer Special Mega Sampler, which is made up of top shelf cigars. Not only will you enjoy the Carlos Torano Noventa, there are many others that don't have to take back seat to any cigar.
Got to sample a Torano Noventa Santiago (5x50) in a Sampler pack. Real nice Cigar, enjoyed it. If you haven't tried one yet, you won't be sorry.
Half way through a box of robustos and I can't say enough about how good these babies are, and factoring in the price at CI, you just won't get a better cigar. Typical Torano quality, construction, taste, etc. I really hope the Torano family keeps these in production.
A flat out bargain.........split a box with a buddy and have smoked 4 or 5 of then already. For the price, this one can't be beat.
I got a robusto in a sampler and was really pleased. Haven't smoked many Torano's until now, but that will change. Excellent construction, burn and draw. I love the flavor profile of Nicaraguan tobacco and am rarely dissapointed. This was no exception. A cigar worthy of the celebration for which it was made. Here's to many more successful years, gentlemen.
Have to agree with LF in Tampa. Killer box, but average gar. Flavors not bad - wood, hay and a tiny bit of sweetness. They have a light pack, a spongy feel and you may get 45 min out of them.
Picked these up cheap so I couldn't pass. It's a good every day morning or just bumming around the house smoke. Nothing more IMHO. But the price and value make it worth a go.
I decided to try a box of Carlos Torano Noventa when they had a Black Friday deal. I picked up a box of torpedos. First off, the box is gorgeous. One of the most beautiful cigar boxes I've received to date. The cigars are presented quite nicely. This is the kind of box you'd show off on your office desk or at home. The cigars themselves smoke like a dream. Even burn and probably one of the easiest draws I've ever experienced. I consider it medium in flavor & strength and quite smooth. You'll also get thick smoke out of this one. Construction has been flawless so far. The only thing that disappoints me about this cigar is that it eventually has to finish and I'm left craving another.
I picked up a box of robustos, 25 in a box. Great smoke for less than $2.50 per stick. Great for everyday smoke or sharing with friends or neighbors where you want a good smoke but don't want to break out the good ones, you know what I mean :-)
A masterful cigar from start to finish. The Noventa is as much of a mystery as it is captivating to behold right down to the very end.
These cigars are a great deal at the price I paid. There are better CT's made but none can touch the value of these Noventa's.
The La Esperanza (toro) caught my eye on a Joe's Daily Deal, and I'm glad they did. They're a beauty to behold and smoke as good as they look. Great construction, firm white ash, and a medium-bodied smoke that's not complex but very satisfying to the palate. I was into the second inch before the draw opened up to where I like it, but it was worth getting there. Make sure you don't miss out on these limited-edition beauties. With the great CI deals on this smoke, you can't go wrong.
Received on 11/6/10 an smoking one as I write. These are super good an I can't find any flaws. I'm taking my time smoking so I can enjoy it a lot longer. Usually I and others have negative things too say but not here. These are a must buy and smoke once an awhile type of cigar. So far it's been over a hour an half and still puffing away. If you don't like them that's fine by me because I love these.
The Torano Noventa is a cigar very much enjoyed. Pleasant pre-light aroma, nicely made and with an excellent draw. For the first half-inch the ash was loose and flakey, but became firmer very quickly. At a full retail price of nearly $13, I won't be buying any, but the CI price is quite attractive. I enjoyed this cigar very early in the morning with coffee and though it is, to me, a medium+ cigar, it was in no way too strong for that time of day. This one is certainly worth a try.
This is my first review on CI. I have been smoking cigars for 15 years and smoke 5 or 6 a week. I like to vary my cigars so I usually don't have a favorite. For comparison purposes my usual rotation includes Alex Bradley Maxx, Fonseca Series F, Hoyo De Mont. Exclaibur, and Gurkha (all kinds). I bought this cigar (Carlos Torano Noventa 90) as a Joes daily deal. It was fantastic! I have smoked other Toranos - Casa and Exodus and enjoyed them, but for the price this is a better cigar. It was medium strength, but in no way "boring" It had excellent flavor for such a medium to mild cigar. It burned very evenly and had a nice draw. I gave one to a golfing partner and he called me later to say he had just ordered a box because he enjoyed it so much. Overall a great cigar. Not as strong as many of my usual, but very flavorful and much more "complex" than many medium strength smokes. If you see them as a Joes special again, make sure you buy plenty, as that is my only regret. I only bought 1 box at that price!
