Gorgeous oscuros.
The Sancho Panza Double Maduro is a nice-looking Honduran, made from a long-filler blend of Honduran, Nicaraguan and Dominican Piloto Cubano leaves, along with an alluring, dark, oily Oscuro wrapper. Medium to full-bodied with some spiciness.
Sancho Panza Double Maduro received a well-deserved 91-rating noting: "This box-pressed corona is dark and attractive. It features an excellent draw and burn. Medium-bodied flavors are rich with a woody, nutty character. The finish has a hint of vanilla."
Great cigars for the price or any price for that matter. Great maduro flavor; need to let them set in the humidor for awhile. Very smoky.
....They're well constructed and consistent. I find them spicier than the sublimely smooth, but hugely tasty Torano Master Maduro and Nica Libre, and not quite as complex, but with about the same body, as Padron Maduro....These wonderful and splendid cigars are paired with with Caribou Blend or Seattle's Best #5 coffee, and, in the evening, tried with coffee and Malbec or a decent Merlot or Cream Sherry. Sometimes, pieces of chocolate join the party as well. This pace is lessened if my girl friend is around, but she's getting more and more tolerant, I'm happy to report....
I got this cigar in the Honduransanity mega-sampler. It is a pretty decent cigar, medium in strength and good flavor. I have noticed that the construction isn't that great when it comes to the cap. Every time I cut it, the wrapper starts to unravel. I even do the table top and double guillotine cutting technique, still unravels. I resolve the issue by ripping the wrapper before it unravels too much and lick the wrapper in place. Annoying but solves the problem.
I got the Lancero in the Honduransanity sampler and was quite impressed with it. Very good construction and great flavor. I have since tried the La Mancha and Quixote and enjoyed them both. This is the smoothest, most flavorful "strong" cigar I've enjoyed without getting an unpleasant buzz. Going to get a box of Quixote soon. Man, these are great for the price!
Just finished my Lancero Robusto Sancho Panza. Got it in a sampler, and I gave it a month or so in my humidor. Settled in with a glass of Highland Park Dark Origins anticipating a nice smoke. The prelight smell is very nice and looking at this cigar it is a nice looking cigar. The head is really firm and my cheap V cutter did a poor job and I was afraid I would have issues, but this is a very well made cigar. Draw is a little tight, but not bad and it burns perfectly. Taste was pretty much the same all the way through and I would say it has a very good flavor. It does not have any big changes, and I noticed no spice, pepper or much of anything like that. but it is a nice smoke and burns slow clear to the nub and never gave me any troubles at all. I would smoke again with pleasure.
Love this cigar! Great, mild flavor without the aftertaste often found in other MEDIUM-FULL cigars. I'm taken by the smooth fluffy smoke, rich dark wrapper and the thick, all white ash gives the Sancho Panza Double Maduro a very special character. 5 stars for this baby,, from now on I'm spending my money here on the box+5 deal on this exceptional cigar. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
The SANCHO PANZA DOUBLE MADURO is the best cigar for a flavor fan. The cigar smells nice, it burns with a fluffy, thick white ash, gives a mellow creamy smoke that has a particular pattern like a puffy cloud when released, without the stale after taste that usually results in other MEDIUM TO FULL CIGARS. It's the best cigar I have smoked by far and my #1 favorite in the Gordo or Alicante. And the price is a real deal. I like the free 5 deal with the purchace of a box of 20. Five Stars for this baby...!
I tried 5 of the Lanceros several months ago and really enjoyed them. I've smoked several different kinds of Maduros in the meantime but kept thinking about the taste and quality of the Lanceros. I recently ordered a box and could hardly wait to enjoy one of those beauties. My humidor will always contain one of these wonderful cigars.
I love trying different cigars, but Sancho Panza may have just won me over as a brand loyalist! Damn fine maduro. Just, WOW!!!
Damned skippity do! Just had my 1st Sancho Panza Double Maduro out of a sampler pack. I can't wait for the next. A little pepper & spice, but very stable and balanced flavor. Headed to Asheville, NC today and looking forward to a mountain view and a fine rye with my new friend, Sancho. It's just a helluva pleasure to smoke!
Being relatively new to the sport I tried a few different types of cigars to get my bearings. Little did I know that I struck gold early. This is my go to, my treat, my wind-down cigar, and my victory cigar. It has a nice toothy draw and the smoke sits heavy and chewy on the tongue. I recently brought one of these guys to a buddy who is a 'Cigar Guy' and he had nothing but nice things to say about it. I suggest opening it up and letting breath inside your humidor. The maduro taste is pleasant, rich, and earthy and it is such a treat. Great buy, don't waste any more time, consume this now!
These are awesome! Chocolaty, espresso, a bit nutty and smooth as silk. Nice light gray ash that hangs forever and the aroma is really nice too. I give this one 5 stars and definitely will be buying more of these bad boys.
The only cigar I ever smoked on the golf course that stayed lit!
What a surprise this cigar turned out to be. The square size was different but truly a fine cigar for the price. A wonderful Maduro sweetness, and can easily smoke down to your finger tips without harshness. Smokes a bit faster than a more expensive premium so great for that smoke you don't have to much time and don't want the waste. Will definitely get more of these.
I just call Customer Service and it was a pleasant experience. Most helpful and corrected the problem in a professional manner. Thanks C I for great service and good value on cigars
Didn't like them!!! Simple as that. Tried one a week after delivery and the 2nd 3 months in the humidor. Taste was just bland boring tobacco. No balance , creaminess or smoothness.
Very good! Did I say very good? Perhaps that is a bit conservative? It's a safe bet that we all use price points as part of our criteria for the evaluation of a cigar. At CI it doesn't take much to pick a winner if you are spending at or beyond $5.00 a stick, (box price). What most of us are after is that smoke under $3.00 that is a really winner. We all know that you generally, "get what you pay for". In the case of the Sancho Panza Double Maduro you most certainly get more than you pay for. In fact a lot more. Using whatever criteria you want to select these will rate a 10 when you consider they cost about $3.00 each. They really perform like at least a $8.00 smoke shop stick. If you are a fan of medium strength cigars these without question will make you very happy.
There isn't a single thing I don't like about the Sancho Panza Double Maduro series. The Cervantes and the Quixote in particular are dynamite.
MY Husband Loves these
Tried this on a recommendation from my Sgt and Lt. Unbelievable cigar at this price or any. Will be in my humidor from this day till they are no longer available.
This cigar is fantastic! This cigar is the best bang for your buck - hands down. It starts off very smooth and adds flavors of dark chocolate and coffee. Towards the end it gets medium to full and I "nub" it every time. I will be buying another box with my next order. No need to shop around because CI has the best prices.
My sons father in law gave me one of these and I was instantly taken in by the smooth flavor all the way through. It was well made firm with a perfect draw and a even ash to the end. I am definitely hooked an would give this cigar with pride to anyone I know.
After reading so many great reviews and loving the price, I picked up a Quixote from a local shop today and really wanted to like it. Unfortunately I did not experience any of the mocha and chocolate many described. Halfway thru, I did enjoy a little spice that I love but not as much as I hoped for. Great looking stick, smooth draw but a little disappointed. Will have to try some of the larger sizes before I give up on them. But, in all fairness, I smoked this only 4 hrs after enjoying a Drew Estate Undercrown.
Just smoked one of the cervantes; I'm not a fan of maduros..but this Double Maduro blew me away! Not an overly sweet one like most maduros, great ash and burn...smoked it down to the nub with no bitterness...issue on caps for some...recommendation...use a V Cutter and cut lengthwise to the frontmark...cap will stay in place!
Just ordered another box of these little gems. Great burn, easy draw, very satisfying, they are and always will be a staple in my humidor...Thanks CI
One of my favorite smokes. I love maduros and this one is at the top of my list. This is a good cigar at twice the price but for what these go for, they are fantastic. I just ran out and I'm ordering a new box.
Delicious; perfect construction/burn. What more should I say?
A great golf course cigar...Nice hefty 6X60 size. Semi full bodied , somewhat spicy, nothing very complex. Very well built, good steady burn, nice ash. Just good all around value in a cigar to enjoy during a round of golf. Kinda like playing in your lucky shirt with a good broken in comfortable pair of Dockers khakis.
AWSOME FLAVOR.GREAT SPICY AROMA.it did not dissapoint.i had heard some reviews online of people trashing this brand but for my FIRST SANCHO PANZA it smoked really good.no tunneling or uneven burn.THE CAP HOWEVER DID COME APART.will try again to see whats up.for now a GREAT GAR!!!!!
I first tried this cigar years ago and fell in love. Generally, I prefer cigars with loads of spice and pepper, your typical kick-in-the-teeth kind of smokes really made my day. Then, I tried the Sancho Panza Double Maduro. It was so smooth, buttery, yet had this rich, complex, incredible flavor that simply astounded me. I'm not sure if this qualifies as full bodied, but it has so much flavor without being overpowering, so well-balanced and easy on the palate, that I once smoked it it immediately earned a place amongst my favorite smokes of all time. Enjoy!
I am reading these reviews and have to offer a differing opinion. I bought a box of the Quixote size, after having smoked one in my buddy's garage (and was blown away). I had also smoked a few Extra Fuerte's before, so I thought I knew what I was getting. I was wrong. Half the wrappers would come off after clipping. No joke. I love the flavor, so maybe that's where the rest of these reviews are coming from. Or I had a bad box. But when honestly 50% of the sticks are unsmokeable due to the wrapper coming completely off, I lose my confidence. Tough, because they are priced right and, as I said, the flavor is perfect for me. I won't be trying again since I already got burned, hope you have better luck.
I'm a very pleased customer, I like that I get my orders really fast, I visited your location on PA right off Nazareth Pike, great store, great people. I love your cigars, my favorites are Perdomo (any of them), Graycliff 1666 and Rocky Patel vintage, but any other from the samplers are delicious!, keep it up guys with your great prices and customer service.
New to cigar smoking. I've bought 4 or 5 different brands from CI so far, $3 to $8 per. These Cervantes are my favorite, I've purchased 20 to 30 so far. They burn perfect and taste great.
I would like to offer my comments on this cigar: As an avid Maduro smoker, I was looking for something to replace my current cigar, Onyx Lonsdale Maduro, both in size and in taste. After reading other's comments about this cigar, I decided to give it a try, here is my review, take it or leave it. Taste: 8, spicy and chocolatey, not harsh, medium not full Burn: 6, even medium burn rate, blue smoke, white ash, pleasant Appearance: 7, medium size veins, thin wrapper, dark brown Construction: 6, box pressed, very spongy, not firm, feels unsubstantial Cost: 8, a good smoke for the money Overall: 6, I like a full bodied firm Maduro, with lots of character, this cigar is not full bodied, but smokes well and is enjoyable, just not what I wanted.
Amazing flavor and a Great smoke for an exceptional price.
A family friend gave me one double maduro at Christmas and I stuck it in my humidor thinking I was well above smoking such an inferior stick.5 months later I reached down to the bottom of my humidor and pulled it out. What a snob I've become! It's sticks like these that got me into smoking cigars in the first place. This is an excellent stick at twice the price! If you love maduro, you're home.
good construction, good even burn and draw ...dark chochatley espresso flavor... good stick ! great value...
These. Are. Awsome. There is one more thing to say: Worth. Twice. The. Money. SHHHHH! Dont tell!!
This is one delicious smoke. Good looking, too. It lit easily, burned evenly, and left a light, medium-gray ash. It seemed to burn quicker than my other cigars, but never got "hot". This thing is definitely not light on flavor, though. Wood, toast, nuts, chicory and a hint of dark chocolate, all laid on thick - stick-to-the-roof-of-your-mouth thick, but never overpowering - right down to the nub. My new favorite.
These cigars are the best buy I have found on an oscuro to date. I have tried many name brand cigars, and have yet to find a better puro than these. I always make sure that I have a good amount in my humidor. Try them you will love them.
A Maduro Mans Best Buy! This cigar is probably at the top of my list of referred brands! From the first time I tried the Double Maduro La Mancha I was hooked! I do Onyx, Rocky, Gurkha, Padilla, and so many other "name droppers" it would take up too many lines but Sancho earns my respect! Delightful cigar with rich texture, aroma and taste of oak, chocolate, spicy rum and peet all rolled into one stick! This is rated 90 regularly and REALLY earns it! Staight burn, no "canoe" and white ash to the nub is where I finally end up! Burns a little fast but thats ok as I hate to toss a big one out due to running out of time anyway!!
im in the 2/3 of an escudero, and ive got to tell you this is one hell of a great cigar! i cant decide which is better, a cervantes or this one. i am close to saying this is the best cigar for the money ive smoked. ive smoked three different sancho panza's and they are just freaking awesome! no burn problems, smoooooth smoke. just an enjoyable cigar. if the old lady gets me a box of cervantes for christmas, ill be a happy man. honestly, ive enjoyed these smokes more than maduros twice the price. man ill throw rocks at perdomo
I'm new to cigar smoking, and fortunately for me I started out with Sancho Panza Dulcineas a pleasant, mild, and smooth burning. I switched over to the Double Maduros a little less than a year ago because I liked the fuller flavor. The Lanceros are great. They can last up to two hours and provide great taste with a kick. I keep my humidor stocked with the Lanceros, Escuderos, and Quixotes so that I can pick a smoke for whatever time I have to enjoy a great cigar at one-third the price of anything comparable. I haven't found another cigar at those prices that comes close to the Sancho Panza Double maduro.
The Sancho Panza Double Maduro is an exceptional smoke. It is absolutely consistant, stick after stick, box after box. Perfect draw, robust flavor and richness, lots of smoke and a cool burn. I have never smoked one that was even slightly out of character. When I can't make up my mind... the Sancho Panza is always the right choice.
Really can't beat these for the price. They really hold their own against much higher priced fare. I would choose these over many, many more expensive, but inferior smokes! The only negative thing I can say is that sometimes they are rolled a "little" and I do mean a little, loose. Nice medium bodied and smooth.
These are one of my favorites. I've tried many Maduros, but I keep coming back to the Sancho Panza DM's. The CI prices are so good, how can you not get a box? :)
Amazing cigar! GREAT MADURO FLAVOR! La Mancha really is "The Spot"!! It's like Romeo y Julieta Viejo, but 1/3 of the price! I love brands like GREYCLIFF, GURKHA, COHIBA and several other expensive brands! The fact is THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SMOKES FROM HONDURAS period. EXTRA OILY THICK OSCURO WRAPPER WITH also a maduro binder plus the QUALITY cuban seed filler puts the icing on the cake! Making GURKHA & Rocky Patel sweat a lil bit over this amazing smoke! Mr. Padron did a nice job! GREAT BUY... VERY HAPPY!!
(Sancho Panza Double Maduro) DM is a great cigar, and for the price they cannot be beat.
The (Sancho Panza Double Maduro) is a great cigar all around. Wonderful flavor and affordable. Perfect for any time of the day.
Delightful cigar (Sancho Panza Double Maduro). Even burn, excellent draw and wonderful flavour. I'm not one to say 'good for the price' because I don't think price has anything to do with it. It's either a good cigar or it's not a good cigar. This is a good one and it's also inexpensive which is always a plus. These will stay in the rotation.
Great cigar(Sancho Panza Double Maduro), great value. Is better than many I have smoked that cost 3X as much. Rich, chocolate-mocha flavor, some spice, complex. A beautiful cigar. I will keep buying these until CI runs out. So don't run out...please!!!"
Sancho Panza Double Maduro was one of the first cigars I smoked. I did so on a recommendation and I'm glad I did. My long time favorite is the Lancero because of the 54 ring gauge. The chocolate flavors abound from about the end of the 1st 3rd to the middle of the last 3rd. This puppy flat puts out the smoke too. Don't smoke this one while driving with the windows up! In all seriousness, Sancho Panza is a must for everyone's humi.
Sancho Panza Double Maduro Is one of the best cigars ever!!! Aloha Mahalo
Ever since trying a Sancho Panza Dbl maduro years ago it has remained a staple item in my humidor. By far this is one of the most consistent cigars I've ever smoked. Very inexpensive and delightful to smoke.
While on Vacation in the Bahamas I picked up a Cuban cigar enjoyed it.Search for the flavor when I got back. Found the Sancho Panza brand been smoking them ever since, fact is all my friends are now smoking them and they are getting harder to find. Rich smooth draw, great taste. So much so my wife often shares one with me after dinner. Great Cigar at a unbeatable price.
"Sancho Panza Double Maduro" has long been a favorite of mine. A solid medium body cigar that is really put together. Effortless draw, nice crisp ash and most of all very flavorful. Reminds me of a" El Mejor Espresso" flavor wise and is just a bit milder. If i had one issue its the very thin maduro wrapper, other than that my advise is... go for it and enjoy.
Tried this stick (Sancho Panza Double Maduro) after reading great reviews about it on several websites. The La Mancha starts out spicy, in fact I almost tossed it, then it settled down into rich chocolate, toffee, cocoa flavors. Richness continued until the end when it got spicy again. Fantastic cigar that I can get for $3. Been smoking them ever since. I have a couple resting in my humi. Interested to see what different a year makes.
In my opinion one of the best values available. The Double Maduro Escudero is exqusite -- burns evenly with a smooth, cool draw, and plenty of deep, rich flavor. Great with a big cup of strong espresso. I love the Padron 3000, but Sancho Panzas are a great alternative for the money!
Sancho Panza is one of those sticks that sounds better as Pancho Sanza, c’mon it just does. But the flavor and aroma really harkens to that of a good Padron regular. Full, leafy wrapper with spice notes. Medium bodied, rich with a delightful bouquet. This really smokes better than it costs. You really have to give it to them on the maduro, it is a flavorful stick. But that it is a double… makes this a great links puff. My rate this stick: 88
Sancho Panza.....What a beautifully constructed cigar, easy even burn, earthy sweet flavor, did not want to put it down (maybe i need some oven mitts) best of all the price... a definite winner. Thanks C.I., now ill bet the smiley face is sucking on a Sancho Panza.
The double maduro was my first Sancho Panza and I am hooked. This cigar is smooth and flavorful start to finish.
I first bought these (Sancho Panza Double Maduro) while visiting in Orlando and my "travel-dor" was empty. I was looking for a smoke shop with the CAO MX2 or Turano Tribute, they didn't carry either. Spotted these in a black box, stunned by the low price so I tried them. Very pleased! Excellent value, not quite the construction ot the MX2 or Tribute, but good flavor, pleasant smoke and draw.
These (Sancho Panza Double Maduro) are a very pleasant surprise. I didn't have an expectations when I first lit up, but found myself really enjoying this stick. Chewy with a consistency in flavor throughout the entire burn. Before you know it you're holding a tiny stub and wishing it could go on.
One of my absolute favorites (Sancho Panza Double Maduro). The first time I tried one I was surprised at how smooth they tasted and remained throughout the whole cigar. I've had to pull the band off every one to enjoy every bit of the cigar...they are that good! If you like a maduro, you'll love Sancho Panza Double Maduro.
Nothing better with a cup of coffee than this one (Sancho Panza Double Maduro). Viva La Mancha!
I first tried this cigar in a Panza Sampler (Sancho Panza Double Maduro)... totally hooked on the La Mancha- only suggestion is buy this cigar while it is still affordable ! Absolutely love it on a daily basis.
This is a little firecracker (Sancho Panza Double Maduro). It started off real smooth and almost sweet until a third of the way through when it got spicy. It mellowed again for about a half inch and then - BAM, it really heated up, and stayed that way till I couldn't hold it anymore. Very interesting smoke.
I tried these babies during my first tour to Iraq. I could not believe the full flavor and rich soothing smoke. Not only do they taste great, but they also fumigate against sandflies. Sancho Panza Double Maduros are the staple of my Humidor.
This cigar (Sancho Panza Double Maduro)is easily the best value in my humidor. If I ever get away from smoking them for a time and then return, I wonder why I ever smoke any other sub-$7 cigar. And the SP Double Maduro can be found everywhere for less than that.
I have to chuckle whenever I think about this stick (Sancho Panza Double Maduro). It is among the least expensive handmades available yet it is so positively delicious I can't help but laugh. Light, burn, draw and smoke volume are consistantly very good, and the appearance of the scrumptous dark wrapper sporting that stark white ash is 2-thumbs-up. And the Maduro is absolutely first class. This stick is possibly the easiest good decision you'll ever make.
I saw these(Sancho Panza Double Maduro) in the October 2004 catalouge and I just started drooling. When I opened up the box I couldn't resist but to start smoking one right there. I've bought 3 boxes since then and they have become a regular in my rotation!
