Complete the Vintage cigar trilogy!
Capitalizing on his unrivaled success of the 93-rated Vintage '90 and '92 series, Rocky has created the Vintage '99 cigar, a tasty, subtle-bodied morsel coated with a silky Connecticut shade wrapper.
The '99 Connecticut uses an exquisite 7-year-old Connecticut leaf to tame his award-winning mixture of 8-year-old Dominican and Nicaraguan long-leaf ligeros. The result is a hearty, slightly spicy cigar with creamy notes of earth and toasted wood. Enjoy this mellow change of pace from Senor Patel, a choice cigar to pair with your morning cup of coffee or workday commute.
Vintage 99 is a amazing cigar. Think R&P Connecticut, but SMOOTHER if that's even possible. If you're willing to fork up the dough, go for it! This bad boy does NOT disappoint.
Always a great smoke. Mild, flavory and smooth....
My favorite cigar period. Smooth, great draw, with a little spice.
By far the best cigar I've ever had. Nice burn with great construction and creamy flavors. Almost had like a fancy coffee taste throughout the whole stick. Not too spicy at first like most cigars and nice very mild strength. If I had the money I would fill my humidor with these but I do not. Like other posters though I guess that is what makes these a special smoke.
Probably one of the best cigars Ive ever had. I'm no expert and smoke about once a week, and this one is always smooth right down to the end. Its mild but long on flavor with cedar in my opinion being predominant. Go for it. Its burn is great requiring maybe 1 touch up at most. Truthfully Ive never had a bad Rocky.
Had my first '99 Connecticut yesterday. I was looking for a smooth, mild cigar with great flavor. This one hit it right on the nose. Great flavor. Conn. shad wrapper is very flavorful. Nice mild smoke for any time during the day. A bit pricey for my wallet, but a treat when I get one. Looking for something a bit stronger, I would highly recommend the Alec Bradley American Classic. Smoke slow and enjoy.
Next to a Montecristo White Label, the RP Vintage 1999 Connecticut is my favorite cigar. It is considered a mild smoke, but it is very full of flavor with an incredible aroma. It burns perfectly even with a beautiful light grey ash. So good!
I got this in a sampler. Not a big fan of mild cigars...but....Had this with coffee on the deck this morning and it was GREAT. Nice burn, plenty of smoke, good construction. A pleasant change from the "smack in the face" from a full bodied smoke.
I've had my eye on this beautiful looking cigar for a while and today I was able to sample it. The construction was solid. Pre-light aroma was heavy on cedar. It lit very easy and drew perfect, comparable to a Perdomo. The predominant tones through the entire smoke were toasted cedar and leather. Very mellow. Well packed cigar as the ash was solid as concrete. I got a good 2 inches from the initial light before I decided to knock it off. I'll keep a couple of these around in the humidor for sure.
I got caught up in the "strong" cigar craze for awhile before deciding that it's just not for me. Smoked one of the Vintage '99 beauties at a Crawfish Boil a few days ago. Creamy and loads of great flavor. Ok, for the record I smoked two.
We were fly-fishing in Montana and each evening at the lodge we would sit out on the deck before dinner and have a drink or three with a smoke. Everyone brought their own smokes but by the third day they all wanted to trade for one of my Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Connecticut’s. I actually had to hide them so they wouldn’t steal them from me when I wasn’t looking. This cigar is a great smoke… smooth, creamy and flavorful! I’m telling you, if you try these cigars you won’t be disappointed.
This "R.P.90 Conn". is the surprise of the year for me. Recently I've strayed from the med. to full bodied cigars i usually smoke. Just looking for a milder smoke to fall back on when one is wanted. I've tried and enjoyed a couple, the Gurkha Park Ave., the R.P. Conn. Due to the fact i enjoyed the R.P. Conn., i decided to try the R.P Vintage '99 Conn. I was totally blown away. The earth and wood flavors were right on, however, i have never tasted a Conn. wrapper as creamy and flavorful as this one. One excellent smoke. A sleeper, i have not heard much, hell, anything about this cigar. I'm telling you now, go for it. You also, will be pleasantly surprised by this exquisite cigar. Take my advise, you will be glad you did. Good smokin', later.
Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Connecticut - the best I have had, my fave for a relaxing evening. Not to be smoked in a hurry, goes well with a nice pint of dark ale, and a sunset...wish I could afford them everyday, but then they wouldn't be special.
I have always enjoyed Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Connecticut and 92's perhaps my favorate smokes, but after my first 99' connecticut i am rethinking my whole world !
the Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Connecticut is by far the best cigar i have EVER smoked these darlings are a main stay in my humdor.
Best cigar Patel makes in my opinion.Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Connecticut This cigar surpasses the 92, the 90 and even the Decade as far as Im concerned.
By far the best mild cigar to date Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Connecticut by anyone in the industry. So why is C.I. holding out on us? Try one for yourself and you'll be adding your own coments on fan mail.
I have had all of Rocky Patel's line of cigars. The Vintage 1999 is BY FAR the best cigar he makes. It's probably the best conneticut on the market right now. I had been begging CI to carry these for the past year or so when I had one in a vintage sampler. This cigar will really blow you away.
