Perdomo cigars....20 years and going strong.
There's a reason Perdomo cigars have commanded permanent residence in this industry. Few brands define a country's cigar dominance quite like Perdomo. Indeed, the Perdomo family has embraced the raw, satisfying flavors Nicaraguan tobaccos have to offer, and when combined with Perdomo’s characteristic, top-notch quality control standards and attention to detail, each Perdomo cigar delivers a full-flavored experience that’s second to none.
Perdomo 20th Anniversary celebrates this rich, family history of Nicaraguan handmades. Each Perdomo cigar employs bold, Cuban-seed long-fillers grown throughout Nicaragua’s black, volcanic soils. Top-priming tobaccos from Esteli, Jalapa, and Condega....patiently aged and skillfully blended to perfection. But then there’s the wrapper. Where the fun really happens. Nicaraguan Broadleaf maduro wrappers from the highest priming, extra-fermented, cedar-aged, then barrel-aged in old bourbon barrels for 14+ months prior to being applied. A gentle box-press is the finishing touch to this impressive Nicaraguan puro. A tremendous effort delivering a gracefully bold and complex bouquet with each cigar. Rich, toasty notes of cocoa, coffee, and leather coat the palate as subtle hints of sweet pepper and earth complete each puff. The strength gradually builds during the slow burn, completing a satisfying and incredibly well-made premium from the Perdomo family.
Note: Perdomo 20th Anniversary Maduro has recently received a packaging update. We currently have a mix of old and new packaging, so you may receive either. Rest assured, the cigars are still exactly the same.
It's so smoooooooth it doesn't register as full, but it's very rich. (Smokin' it now;half way thru) Beautiful to look at and hold. The bad review guy must have received the only bummer in the bunch. Won't knock your socks off, but it doesn't always have to be that way. Delicious.
After having tried the amazing sun grown, I thought I'd give the Maduro a try. It was lackluster at best, and had neither the richness or fullness I love in the sun grown. I got a medium-dark cut wood, light coffee roast, and raw cocoa nib flavor and aroma from it which were all underwhelming, but it came with musty overtones that reminds me of the wood smell of an old dresser, and felt like an entirely different cigar that did not live up to the same name. In no way was this a full cigar, perhaps medium-bodied. I will stick with the incredible sun growns.
I've been a cigar smoker for few years and have smoked many top brand cigars, the Perdomo 20th anniversary maduro is now at the top of favorite list. I obviously love this cigar!
A tasty treat. This Gordo maduro smokes and tastes great! Burns nice with great flavors.
Very happy. Pleasantly surprised.
i have tried many different cigars and by far I think perdomo is the finest brand at a reasonable price. the 20th anniversary burns well ,has a smooth but mellow draw and fills the air with a pleasant aroma. I highly recommend that you try them.
What can I say about these? They are excellent. The only bad experience I had was with a Presidente shape one and that was probably a fluke. That one had a bad draw and tasted like ash until I smashed it into the ash tray.... I give these cigars a 8.5/10 for complexity, mouth feel, aroma, etc. A great cigar overall. Avoid the Presidente shape if you can, stick to the larger ring guages....
I have been smoking cigars for over 50 years and I can attest that the Perdomo 20th anniversary is one of the finest cigars I have had the pleasure of smoking. Nick, you outdid yourself with this one
I've tried Perdomo's in the past and haven't been impressed... Till I had this one! Lots of chocolate coffee notes, very chewy. You can really taste the cedar barrels on the finish. Perfect slow even burn, the draw is on the tight side but not a nuisance. Overall great smoke highly recommended!!!
....Tried this 20th after viewing several you tubes on the cig and reading reviews, decided that it was a good bet to get a box, throw a couple in the hummie for 4 weeks and give it a try. I condition all my smokes for a minimum of 4 weeks before trying so needless to say, that's a long frekin wait but, if I want a true judge, I want the conditions to be right for a true feelin of what it brings to the table. I ordered the 6.5 torpedoes and have to say- impressive. Flavor is as other listed with incredible smoke. I considered it a good med for me but not over powering at all. Burn was nice and tight. It for sure at this price was way up there on the list. Very long smoke and you will take this to the nub! I was so impressed that I ordered another box just to age. This one will be on the restocking list for sure. Unlike my Onyx box press,,which I consider more an evening cigar (like smoking a chocolate candy bar, you don't know whether to smoke it or eat it!!! OOOHHHH so good!), this one can be smoked comfortably any time. Feel good that this was added, and love to share with company! Just so impressive!
I enjoy a good maduro. This stick started off a little strong though, but mellowed out quickly. Great draw. Burnt very cool and very smooth. Was almost half way through it before I was able to ash it. Might be on the strong side for myself, but that's just my opinion. Overall a great smoke.
I'm relatively new to cigars. I've been buying different samplers to find some of my favorites. I bought the 20th anniversary Maduro sampler from Perdomo. This is by far one of my favorite cigars to smoke. Nice draw, even burn. Not too overpowering either. You won't be disappointed with this cigar.
20th anniversary Epicure Maduro: What a fantastic cigar. Impeccable wrapper, there are some veins but you need a microscope to see them. The draw is so easy you might think it will smoke a little hot but it does not. Medium to full bodied. Notes of cocoa, coffee, and a citrus like sweetness in the first half, the second half of the cigar gains in strength, with the coffee getting stronger, and in the last third the oak aging really comes forward. Very smooth and complex, so much so that after the first 5 minutes I swapped out my coffee for club soda so as not to mask the flavors of the cigar. This is a super-premium cigar. I’ve been smoking cigars since 1971 and the 20th Anniversary is easily one of the best cigars I’ve ever had. Buy a box, you'll thank me.
