Mark Twain was a busy guy, with an impressive resume. Despite a list of achievements including satirist, novelist, scholar, philosopher, humanitarian, and 5-year champion of the Philadelphia Wing Bowl (we’re not super positive about that last one), the man was never too busy to burn a cigar. His tastes leaned heavily toward the cheap stuff, and while the tobacco used in Mark Twain The Press is undeniably top-grade, even Mr. Twain himself would have smiled at the price point. 

The blend starts with Honduran and Nicaraguan long-fillers hugged by a Honduran binder, and finished off with an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper. Overall, a bit disappointed. About half of the Twains started to unwrap while smoking them. Looked sloppy. Otherwise, they developed a nice ash and slow burn. Flavor is just so-so. Okay for the price. I probably won't purchase again.

Got a couple of these in a sampler and was very pleased with the taste and burn. For the money, I could definitely see myself getting more. The only issue I had and I'm not the only one, is the band. It sticks to the wrapper and mangles it up.

These little bastards pack a punch! They have a decent flavor (but not a whole lot of development), nice appearance and construction and do appear to be premium hand made cigars, BUT I think even ole Samuel L. Clemens would have backed down from 40 to 10 a day with these. One of these cigars feels like it equals about five. But hey! They’re a great deal, you’ll get used to them and it’ll put some hair on your chest. So why not give ‘em a try and make a decision for yourself!

I’m a big fan of all the Mark Twain blends. The Press, is the newest to the line and just as awesome! I bought a 5pk, then bought a box. It’s priced on the cheaper end, but smokes on the high end. The draw is amazing, especially for a bigger gauged stick. The burn holds up, with minor touch ups and the smoke output is very pleasing. Highly recommended for a stick to enjoy while you’re in the garage getting some things done or just doing nothing! Salute everyone!!

Not robust, but decent, and almost sort of a novelty, wanted to enjoy it because of the clever packaging, and americana feel. Big ol' boss hog smoke, loosely packed, and perhaps a decent breakfast stogie. Didn't billow very well, but decent creamy flavor. Not a favorite, but not bad.

As a Dominican only smoker I was very surprised. This one I enjoyed all of the way to the nub. A middle of the road stuck but the flavor and quality were good. This is on of those I will keep for the cool nights around a fire. Very nice.

Did not know anything about these cigars, just ordered on a whim! Was very surprised and pleased with my decision after smoking two of my five cigars. They are mild to me and easy to smoke and enjoy. Love the aroma they leave. Have a new favorite now!

Box press is well done. Presentation is fantastic. Flavor is quite good. Construction..... My biggest issue is with their paper bands. I ALWAYS remove these at the beginning of just about any stick I smoke. These are SO over glued, that the rings all rip and tear both themselves, and big sections of the cigar wrapper underneath. And believe me, after the first couple, I tried every trick in the book to go easy, go slow and go careful. All still ripped. They're glued to the wrapper. If you leave the band in place, you'll have a very good smoke, but because of the band size and placement, you'll only get just over half of the cigar.

I love this cigar, overall. I’m a fan of Nicaraguan tobacco and this is loaded with medium-bodied Nicaraguan leaf. I’m not sure I’ll continue buying them though. One nagging consistency that spoils the whole experience is the construction. The band is too large and is “glued” to the delicate wrapper. Even the most careful removal results in a gaping hole in the wrapper. Somehow, this causes uneven draw and the cigar begins to run on one side because I’m sucking air through the hole, I suspect. Then at the two-thirds point, the wrapper starts unwrapping… so, great for the first 2/3 and a nightmare after that, consistently. I suggest they put a smaller band on it and glue the band to itself… NOT the wrapper. Otherwise I’d give it 10 stars out of 5 for its price point.
