The love saga continues....
Enter the exciting new follow up to the heralded #2 Cigar of the Year, La Aroma de Cuba 'Mi Amor' Reserva. This time around don't expect a drastic overhaul, but rather a tweaking of the existing blend. But don’t worry, Reserva packs plenty of subtle nuances providing more than enough change to keep things interesting.
Hand-crafted in Nicaragua at Pepin Garcia's My Father factory, each Mi Amor Reserva is draped in a dark and enticing Cuban-seed San Andres Oscuro wrapper. This toothsome leaf hugs a potent array of aged Nicaraguan long-fillers. Together this ensemble delivers a bevy of rich, smooth flavors in spades. Notes of roasted coffee, cocoa, earth, sweetness and a hint of cedar all make an appearance behind an impressively refined finish. Throughout the cool, slow burn, expect a gentle note of spice to enter the fray, weaving its way through the impressive bouquet. Although a tad stronger than its counterpart, Mi Amor Reserva never sacrifices an ounce of that renowned La Aroma smoothness.
Mi Amor Reserva joins the rest of the 90+ rated family of La Aroma de Cuba blends, earning a 94-point score and a rating in the Top 25 Cigars of 2013, noting: "The well-made cigar has hickory and almond notes that lead into hints of dark chocolate and earth."
I am smoking this cigar as soon as it arrived in the mail. Incredibly smooth and great chocolate flavor. Not much transition throughout. I find the spice to be minimal except in the retrohale. Nice, even, consistent taste. Great with morning cappo. Nicotene is not that bad. Price is a bit high, but no regrets. Definitely worth a 5 pack purchase. I think it is better than the rest of the line. Highly recommended!
One of the best cigars I've had. It has a nice draw and even burn. It seemed well-constructed and had complex, varied flavors. I swear at one point I tasted a jelly donut. Other flavors include chocolate, various spices and bit of coffee. A real smoking adventure.
Great smoke with a nice glass of scotch! Will be buying more!
This was my first La Aroma de Cuba (Mi Amor Reserva). What an introduction! Incredibly smooth notes of coffee and dark chocolate. I initially thought it was a sun grown wrapper, as my particular cigar is only a dark brown, but the flavor quickly reveals the delicious oscuro wrapper. I can't wait to try the rest of the line.
My son did it again. He gave me one of these to stick in the humi for a while. I left it alone for about three months. Tonight I pulled it out. I taught him well. Nice feel, great even burn, cool burn, lots of smoke.....great flavor that just got better as I got closer to the nub. I gotta out do him........I'm not going to be out done! If I am.....that's okay. :)
OH MY GOODNESS! That's all I have to say.
awsome cigar just ordered some more!!
Love these smokes.
Well the construction and burn was spot on, unfortunately that was the best part of this stick. The flavors, bold, yet boring for my taste. better off spending this price tag elsewhere.
This is a wonderful cigar just like the rest of the line. This time there is a lot of spice with some dark coco notes and a touch of sweetness. I will be buying a box and you should too.
