Gurkha Yakuza

A gorgeously intimidating blend.

Depending who you believe, the Yakuza are either a ruthless Japanese organized crime syndicate, or a misunderstood chivalrous organization…hint, I’d go with the former. The Yakuza are as famed for their intricate tattoos as their missing pinkies, and this new, bold blend from Gurkha, dubbed Yakuza, is as menacing as its namesake. A blend that’s as special as Gurkha Yakuza shouldn’t come in normal packaging, and leave it to Gurkha to knock this one out of the park.

Coming dressed in a oil-oozing, milk-chocolaty Ecuador Habano ligero wrapper, Yakuza’s aesthetics are spot-on. A quick peak under the covers reveals a Nicaraguan binder embracing a collection of ligero-laced, uber-refined Nicaraguan and Honduran long-fillers with the addition of a small amount of La Entradas long-filler. Well-balanced, this firecracker is in-your-face full-bodied and will lay the smack-down in the flavor department. Bold notes of toast, oak, nuts, espresso, and pepper intertwine for a robust and dizzying experience. Not for the faint of heart, the Gurkha Yakuza will send you into sensory overload. Make sure to clear your schedule for this gem, because it's an experience that demands zero interruption.

GURKHA Yakuzza
This is by far my favorite from Gurkha. I've had many before but none like this. The longer in the Humidor the better.. Another big hit for CI.

Gurkha yukuza
If you like full flavor it's a pretty good smoke. Give it some time as it gets better 1/2 way through. It is a tad pricey.

Must try. Good to the very end.
My favorite cigar, or at least up there. Deep, complex, rich flavor. Great construction, good draw. A must try. Try to catch a pack on sale. You won't be disappointed. Have turned a few folks onto these.

Decent smoke
a little spicy, good smoke. I read that the longer it sits the better it is, I will try another one I have stored in a few months. not worth the price though

A no brainer! Give these a try.
I received two of these in a full body sampler and was blown away. I waited to try one of these sticks as I haven't enjoyed very many sticks from Gurkha. The Yakuza ended up being my favorite of the bunch! The draw was just right. The burn was even. The flavor was great! Not too overpowering. Toasted nuts, barnyard and coffee. These will be a staple in my humidor from now on.

Nuke of a schtick
This thing is a flavor nuke. As full as they come. It'll knock you on your rear and get you feeling good and dizzy. Love it. Solid construction and slow burn with a good drag. Lots of oak and nutty and peppery flavors. Great classic tobacco taste.

Hands down one of the best cigar’s I’ve ever had!
Hands down one of the best cigar’s I’ve ever had. The pepper note is unlike anything I’ve ever tasted in a cigar before. Razor sharp burn and overall a great smoke!

Horrible Taste!
The taste of this cigar is horrible! I don't understand why this cigar is so expensive. Never ever again! It is truly horrible! Taste like burnt wood or maybe its dirt.... I don't know, but I know it is horrible. Don't waste your money!

Everything it claims to be.... Definitely a full bodied stick
Got 2 of these in sampler, first one was awesome after 2 weeks in the humi, enjoying the second as I write this. Though they are amazingly tasty and very full of thick smoke they are quite pricey to buy not heir own....luckily CI always has awesome samplers and some of the other sticks that came with this are quite good as well. Gonna be buying plenty more of those to keep some of these in stock. Great stick!

Let it age before smoke
I got these cigars through a sampler and I am glad I got to experience them. Based on some last reviews I let the Yakuza age in my humidor for about a month. I smoked one during a Vegas trip and although it was good, it wasn't great. I let the others age longer in the humidor for another 2 months and had another during 4th of July. The Yakuza was much better great. So lesson for this cigar, it will be more enjoyable aged at least several months before smoking it.

Stand Alone Favorite.
This cigar surprised me. For some reason I was thinking it would be too strong and a little bitter. I was wrong. Full smooth smoke with a silky sheen to the wrapper makes it one of my favorite all-time smokes.

I bought the Gurkha for my husband, an anniversary gift. He loves them. Makes a great gift.

Impressive cigar
Not normally a Gurkha fan but this is a very good cigar. Construction, appearance and burn is spot on. The taste is smooth and more complex than most Gurkhas I've had, but MSRP is inflated.

Overrated!!!!
Only gave it a star because I had to so I could write a review, but this cigar is garbage. I got it on a Joe's deal, so I thought I would have no complaints about the price. However, if this cigar was given to me I still would be disappointed. Out of the ten I recieved 2 were halfway decent experiences. I had to throw away 3 becuase they were unsmokable. All were too tight and even some extended time in the humi did nothing to improve this cigar. I had canoe issues, draw issues, flavor issues and struggled to keep them lit. The only positive is that they are beautiful to look at. But it's the proverbial "lipstick on a pig." All show and no go. Will never buy again.

gtfo, a good Gurkha.... never thought I would see the day!
Fantastic smoke. Slight peppery, earthy, I swear it tasted like baileys at the last 3rd. I think for the price I should have gotten 6 (JK I just regret smoking them all so fast)! Superior product, Gurkha definitely fixed my opinion of them. Try them out.... unless they are almost gone, in which case DON'T BUY THEM, THEY ARE MINE!

Banzai!
This is a bold, full bodied smoke with excellent flavor and a rich, spicy taste. Excellent burn and draw, with only one cigar of the bunch a bit too tightly rolled.

Great smoke!
I bought a bunch of these while they were on sale. Knowing how hard single sticks of these are to come by I bought 40 of them on sale! Best choice I made all week! Great smoke, burns nice and even, hints of pepper, cocoa, cream. Super nice! A must have in the humi!

one delicious stick
I'm not a big fan of gurkhas but this is one awesome cigar I love the oily wrapper. I got five of these gems from the CI make your own sampler. Do yourself a favor and go make your own sampler and do not pass up this one.

Great cigar.
Hansotia Kaisad does it again! This cigar is another winner with great taste. It is delicious from start to finish. Very pricey but if you want to splurge, I would choose this cigar. Extremely made with elegance. It's worth every cent.

Smooth Smoke
I don't usually smoke in a crowd people for obvious reasons, but I fired up one of these babies at a festival the other day and had several complements on the aroma and presents of this cigar thanks cigar international.

Hot Chocolate in the winter
Amazing cigar that I wished was a few bucks cheaper. Very bold at first but begins to get rich and creamy from the halfway mark on. It began to have the hint espresso 1/3 left. It was as if I was drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows. Hope this review helps! I really enjoyed this stick.

Yummy
The first time I smoked the Yakuza I submitted a truly scathing assessment, so I'm back for a mea culpa. I probably had only had it in my humi for a week or so, and I was completely disappointed over how blandly it presented. I've smoked a boatload of Ghurkhas, across a wide variety of their lines, and love them in general. So I felt really let down by my first experience with the Yakuza. Fortunately, I don't buy into first impressions, and better yet, still had another stick left. After letting it sit for 2 months, I am very pleased to say that my first impression was completely wrong! Like all Ghurkas, this one is packed tight without a single soft spot anywhere. It draws and burns like a dream, supplying a copious output of creamy, mouth-coating smoke. I taste honey, cashews (very prominent in the retrohale), caramel, a variety of spices (cardamom in particular) and oak. The oak is not overly dominant, but instead is a compliment to the overall flavor -- truly it is a wonderfully balanced profile. It's not quite pastry, not quite cake, but an an as yet unnamed (and perhaps not yet discovered) delicious breakfast treat. Everybody lights their money on fire in their own way, and unfortunately, this stick is still a little bit too pricey for me to add it to my regular rotation. But if I ever win the lottery, I'll be buying several boxes of these beauties so I can make a bunch of people very happy indeed. Smoke 'em if you got 'em!

Absolutely delicious smoke, but very pricey.
Absolutely delicious smoke. Perhaps my favorite, if money were no object. The wrapper is beautiful and oily. Flavorful from start to finish. Unfortunately this cigar is cost-prohibitive to enjoy outside of just an occasional treat.

Dissappointed
If you smoke tree limbs this will be a good cigar for you. I punched, rolled and nothing loosened up this cigar. What little bit of taste I could force out of the head appeared to be a good cigar but finally gave up and trashed it. will wait a few months before trying again.
