Depending who you believe, the Yakuza are either a ruthless Japanese organized crime syndicate, or a misunderstood chivalrous organization…hint, I’d go with the former. The Yakuza are as famed for their intricate tattoos as their missing pinkies, and this new, bold blend from Gurkha, dubbed Yakuza, is as menacing as its namesake. A blend that’s as special as Gurkha Yakuza shouldn’t come in normal packaging, and leave it to Gurkha to knock this one out of the park.

Coming dressed in a oil-oozing, milk-chocolaty Ecuador Habano ligero wrapper, Yakuza’s aesthetics are spot-on. A quick peak under the covers reveals a Nicaraguan binder embracing a collection of ligero-laced, uber-refined Nicaraguan and Honduran long-fillers with the addition of a small amount of La Entradas long-filler. Well-balanced, this firecracker is in-your-face full-bodied and will lay the smack-down in the flavor department. Wow. . just finished smoking this one, down to the point where my fingers and lips were getting burned. So good. Bready, toasty, chocolaty, nutty with a hint of espresso, no sweetness, just perfect. I had it with a Japanese style steak with rice, paired perfectly.

It is a great celebration cigar. The construction is solid. Perfectly packed all way through. The wrapper is very oily and had one crack in it but it didn't affect the effortless draw. The burn is even all the way through. Now the smoke is full in strength with leather, salted caramel and woody flavors. It is a complex and strong cigar.

Gurkha Yakuza, I love these sticks, the aroma is awsome I am always being told how good they smell. The way that they have constructed the stick, is great with every stick I have had (I have had many) they have always burned even and never come appart, and the draw has always been easy, with a nice creamy mouth feel. I will continue to get these whenever I can .

Several years ago when I had my first Yakuza for $75.00 USD from a cigar lounge it was worth it! Finding the Yakuza here on CI was awesome!!!!! I've had these before but the $$ scared me off. When I bought a 10 pack with a recent CI promo I grabbed them. It had been several years since I last had one but the familiar Yakuza flavor and aroma erupted as soon as I lit it. Full strength but not overpowering. Definitely one of Gurkha's best.

Right out of the box this is a very rich cigar. Dark chocolate and rich leather on the nose. You have to warm the cigar to appreciate it because you get so many flavors, including pepper, dark chocolate, which leather, which only intensifies as you smoke this. Make sure you start off with something in the medium to full strength before you like this baby out. It is potent from the get go!

What a wonderful smoke this is. I had wanted to try these for a long time. It was worth the wait. It's extremely flavorful, and is full bodied like they say it is. I will say, what I really liked about that, is that the cigar is full bodied without somehow being harsh on the system. Normally when I smoke something strong, the buzz comes with a dull headache, or a bit of a 'blah' feeling in the gut. This was utterly pleasant, but still packs a punch. The other thing that will shock you is, for a toro, how slow this thing burns. It took me every bit of an hour and 20 minutes to finish it. It produces a ton of smoke too. It's the best cigar I've ever smoked, in my humble opinion. That said, at least for me, there is no such thing as a $20 cigar unless you're at some kind of festival or convention, and someone is selling these individually. I got a tremendous deal on these to buy as many as I did. Wait for a sale to scoop some of these up. But when that sale hits, do NOT let the opportunity pass to get one of the best cigars you'll ever smoke.
