Gurkha Sherpa Orange

A gem from the man behind Gurkha, Kaizad Hansotia.

Meticulously blended, Sherpa is a veritable treat for the senses. Hailing from Esteli, Nicaragua, Sherpa combines a vintage combination of Cuban-seed long-leaf tobaccos cultivated from two of the Central America’s most prized growing regions: Esteli and the Dominican’s Cibao Valley. This lush mixture is subsequently cloaked by a dark Habano wrapper grown in Nicaragua.

Oily and pleasing to the eye, this choice outer leaf completes an eventful medium-bodied experience. Sherpa is rich and hearty, yet smooth from start to finish, offering enjoyable notes of leather, earth, and black espresso. The aroma is robust and toasty with a slight charcoal influence. Enjoy Sherpa, a complex and well-balanced cigar that's dirt cheap.

Loved it

Smooth
First cigar was a little hard to draw, probably a little dry, but next couple after rehumidifying were very smooth.

Good cigar for a daily
Good cigar for a daily smoke. Robust flavor and a straight burner. Some of the wrappers unravel even with adequate humidity. I give it ****

Nice medium smoke with even burn and good ash. Never smoked this cigar before but liked the taste. Would buy again as the price is decent for good rolled cigar. Rate it a hair below the dark shark

I am very disappointed in
I am very disappointed in this Gurkha product. The draw was inconsistent, but mostly felt plugged. Even the cigar poker I used seldom improved them. Flavor also was inconsistent, with a sort of metallic ending. I won't buy again.

Inconsistent burn.. Half would burn before the other. Not aon all. Some were hard draws and lacked flavor. When right- great flavor. Would not buy again

Everthing you need
These really smoke nice there is a hit of spice at the beginning. It smokes really well. A little harder to pull at the end, but nothing that will take away from this cigar.

Great affordable sticks for any humidor. This cigar burns well with light taste of cedar, earth and subtle hints of citrus and has a smooth finish. This cigar is good for any occasion.

Good Afternoon Smoke
Not bad for the price, was hoping for more of a spice or even better "orange flavor" but although it disappointed in that area, it does make for a great afternoon smoke.

Decent but Gurkha has better in the same price range.
Not a bad smoke but not quite as smooth as others I buy from the Gurkha line. Price is low enough to make this a good buy still, just some others I prefer in the same category (like the Castle Hall by Gurkha).

Gurchka Sherpa
Nice bundle cigar with med body some flavor. The draw didn’t quite suit me as it was not free enough for my preference. Overall not bad but may not buy again due to the draw issue. Probably wouldn’t bother many people. I just like a free drawing cigar. Draw was inconsistent within the bundle and some were fine. Rate it as a 4 star for flavor.

Not up to Gurkha standards
Tried three to give a fair chance. All so tight impossible to get decent draw which affects flavor. Aroma is pleasant but, so far, for me that's the best that can be said about the Sherpa Orange. Unfortunate.

Rather good Cigar
Mild burn is Okay aroma is nice, good eighteen hole cigar. Will purchase again

disapointed
I've smoked a lot of Gurkhas. usually, if you get them on a deal, they are flavorful and enjoyable, and reasonable,. the price on these was good, but the draw has been poor and the flavor inciped
4 out of 5
Well worth it
At just a few bucks per stick you won't have to break the bank to try these guys. Flavor is pronounced and consistent. I would have made it 5 stars but I have had a few burn unevenly. Still, I cannot complain and I will order more.

I ordered these a number of years ago, then couldn't find them for a while. These are a perfect golf course cigar. The profile is medium with a great taste. They are not to strong to interfere with your game but have a great flavor.

Great smoke, quality cigar
I was surprised how well these smoked, give the reasonable price. High quality construction as well. I would classify these as medium in intensity and flavor, good for an everyday smoke. I have had other cigars from this manufacturer and they have all been very good all around cigars. Would recommend.

Fantastic
I have been enjoying these at least once a week. The draw is a little tight but that is to be expected on this size/shape. I have been using a v-cutter and it is working pretty well. Flavor-wise, I can't complain. They are on the high end of awesome, as usual.
2 out of 5
Disappointed
The first thing I noticed is that the draw is too hard, I had to use a draw poker. There is very little flavor, yet they are still harsh.

Gurka Surprise (Orange double corona)
An affordable Gurka was my first surprise; its goodness was the second! Mild, flavorful and even burning. The longer they are in my humidor, the better they get.

Most Firm Some Soft
The rolling of the cigar was sometimes a mystery as most of them were a nice firm roll then you would get a few that were soft. Nice cigar but not the standard you would expect from Gurkha.

Gurkha Sherpa Orange Double Corona.... It's a Gurkha how can you go wrong !
Smooth and elegant all the way. What a great daily smoker... I am glad I purchased 100 as I knew it would be a great smoke..... But after smoking just one I wish I had purchased a couple of hundred. Great value for the money.... It's a Gurkha baby and it lives up to the reputation.

Couldn’t smoke
About half of these cigars I couldn’t smoke. They where rolled to tight. I could not get a draw on them. The second problem I had with them was that while removing the band it would tear the wrapper. It is a shame because I enjoyed this everyday smoke when it was smokable.

Good cigar!
Nice mellow smoke with a smooth burn and good taste. Would buy them again.
2 out of 5
Disappointment
Although I like the blend and the flavor, I gave 2 stars because of the horrendous construction. Uneven burn rate made me torch this several times during smoking to maintain even flow. And the wrapper unrolled on its own several times. It's not just 1 or 2 cigars out of the entire pack. 15 out of 25 cigars in this pack had these problems. Would not recommend. There are other cigars with better construction for the same price range.

One of the worst orders experienced with CI! On a scale of 0-10 here we go. So far the draw is on average a 1-2! Too long packed too tight who knows. I have chopped the long end off in some cases it may help. The taste is 4-5. The burn is pretty even. I would not recommend to a friend unless I wanted them to be an enemy!

Really good everyday smoke
This is by far the best of the less expensive cigars I have tried. So far, they burn even and the taste is much better than the regular everyday smoke. They have a very mild orange peel flavor on the end that disappear after the first couple of minutes. If you have been looking for a decent everyday smoke you really should try these Sherpas from Gurkha.

Sherman orange robusto
Found this version of orange average, yet lacked some of the spiceness from prior releases. The robusto size less appealing than toro.Still a great deal $ wise.

Good for the price. But not my taste. Did not find any notes. After smoking a few did not really enjoy the taste.

The problem is that they
The problem is that they are shipped with no humi packs, so you still have to wait over a month to smoke these. Kinda sucks because you buy them but cant smoke them. After having them over a month in my humidor they are a decent everyday smoke.

I’m a big fan of any Ghurka so this is a great smoke

Nice cigar
Would have given it a five star but it was so inexpensive that just can’t be. This cigar was the first Gurkha I ever tried and it made me a real Gurkha fan forever.

Ok smoke
I was happy to see that Sherpas were back. I was not disappointed but also not thrilled. Consistency and taste not as solid as It used to be.

Just Alright
Rolled a bit loose and burns somewhat hot, Also less flavorful that most Gurka sticks. CI has better options at this low price point.

Surprisingly good cigar
First one I was not sold but something drew me back for another stick. Construction is flawless, burn is even, and the draw of a much more expensive cigar. This is a little milder than I like so it was a toss up when I purchased then after enjoying a few I have started looking forward to each one. For the cost I don’t think they can be beat I would recommend for a humidor filler and something nice to give to friends. The right price and smoke to feel good about sharing.

Meh
The price and construction of these cigars are first rate. The taste is not up to their name, it changed with every cigar. Some were smooth great to the finish and other had and acrid taste and smell. I'll stick to spec. ops never had one let me down.

Review of Gurkha Sherpa Orange Robusto
This cigar has a nice draw and doesn't get 'hot' when getting to the end. I like the size because sometimes, you just don't have the time to enjoy a 'longer' cigar

Sherpas are very good.
First rate build quality and draw. Even burn. Good medium flavor. My new "go to" smoke.

Good not great.
I have been smoking Ghurkas for some time now. You can tell this must have been a collaborative design as the flavors are consistent and seem to compete agaist each other. Mello earth, starts to sit on the palet and almost immediately gets smacked around, by a pungent spice. Good stick just not for me.

Really a nice smoke. Shared with a friend and he agreed.

The best smoke for the money
Everyone I've shared these with love them. Cheap enough for a once a day smoke while having the quality of a "special occasion" cigar.

Not a real Gurkha.
Had a draw problem with these. found that after working with 5 I would never be able to finish these. Not a true Gurkha. BUT>>>> I will say Cigar international had no problem in taking care of this. They are great.

Great cigar for the price. I enjoy these sticks sitting out by the pool for a daily smoke. Can’t beat it. Even draw and good burn on the half dozen I got through.

Worst cigar I’ve purchased.....
Horrible purchase, the draw is like trying to drink a Wendy’s frosty through a straw. Stay away from these!!

A great yard stick!
That's originally what I bought them for. But it's got that great leathery nuance so know I find I'm enjoying them everywhere. The Double Corona makes for a good two hour burn so it's great when I'm putzing around outside or on a walk. Cheap but well constructed and a limited batch. Would look to do this purchase again. Great humidor filler.

Gurkha Sherpa explaination
Great smoke once you get past the first inch of the burn. This cigar goes from a sharp full to a mellow. I have purchased 125 of these sticks. Great smoke with the boys or for a wedding. Thanks again for selling quality smokes! Jesse

Poor Quality, Uneven Smoke
Gurkha is a brand that can usually be trusted to deliver a satisfying and pleasurable smoke. NOT THIS TIME! I gave it one star because zero stars was not an option. These are on the whole, the worst cigars I have bought in a long time. They burn either hot or not at all. Poor construction, most of them are hard to keep lit and poor draw. Don't waste your money!
5 out of 5
A tasty light smoke.
Perfect for a quick, light smoke. Great taste for the price.

A Bit Harsh for my Taste
They were a bit harsh for my taste. They smoked well and construction was good. They were a great value.

Nice smoke for every day. Mine have burned nicely so far and they draw well. Not the best Gurkha, but well worth the price.

Golf Course Stogies
One on front 9, One on back. Good medium bodied smoke, good draw And taste. Worth the bucks. !!

I prefer darker, more complex cigars. That cost alot more. Yet I find myself smoking more of these than any other. They got me.
I have smoked around 20 of these so far, usually after I smoke a darker, fuller flavor cigar and feel like a lighter follow up. Taste is a lot lighter then I am used to honestly, I at first compared it to a very good hand rolled cigar but that's a disservice: I just like darker more complex cigars. I have been very very impressed with the jaw dropping consistency of these cigars. Smoke evenly, stay lit for a respectable amount of time when you set it down, and from first to last they taste the same: I know EXACTLY what I am getting with these Sherpa's, and that is a very rare thing in cigarland.

Can't be beat!
An end-of-the-day smoke. Very easy draw, excellent flavor, no wrapper problems. At Robusta size would work well on the golf course, but for me best on the deck overlooking lake. The discounted price was swell, but unnecessary to lure me in. I'll be gettig more, regularly!

Neh
The right price but I’ve had better Gurkhas
5 out of 5
This is a winner.
I ordered these because of my experience with Gurkha's and I haven't been disappointed. These are truly flavorful sticks. I wish I could describe the different flavors but I don't have that sophisticated a palette. Maybe it's like a sweet nutmeg or something but it's very pleasant and a great smoke at a bargain price. Highly recommended.

Smooth and classy
If these are anything like the original, then we have got a great deal here. Haven’t seen these for several years but they were delicious. Smooth and even burn after a little time in the humidor. Great stick to smoke when you are just wanting some medium flavor.

They're Baaaack
Haven't seen these puppies since my Iraq days. Saw the ad in this month's catelog and immediately grabbed the phone to order. Great stick for the price and much higher.
