Enclave by AJ Fernandez

A blend this good commands your attention

AJ Fernandez. The man, the myth, the legend. AJ has been smacking the palates of thousands for years with creative, unique, and delicious blends to rival the best in the biz. It comes as no secret that he is at the top of his game, consistently delivering lip-smackers like San Lotano OvalNew World, and Man O’ War. Not enough can be said about this master-blender’s talents, so we will get right into the goods. First, brace yourself. Next, clean the drool from your chin, and finally do yourself a service and check out the newest hit from the Fernandez camp, Enclave.

This pretty peach hails from the famed Tabacalera Fernandez factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. Draped in a gorgeous, reddish hued Habano Rosado wrapper leaf, Enclave sports dual bands that set an ambiance of old world Cuba from the get-go. Underneath the sheets rests a refined Cameroon binder sitting firmly atop select Nicaraguan long-fillers, including a choice Piloto Cubano strain grown on AJ’s proprietary farms. Cuban-esque to a T, Enclave boasts delicate notes of cedar, white pepper, cinnamon, and sweet spices that maintain perfect balance right down to the nub. Another secured mainstay in the humi from Sr. Fernandez, clear ample space for this treat!

Enclave received a well-deserved ‘92’-rating and Top 25 Cigars of 2016 honors from Cigar Aficionado noting: “Each puff is full of earthy, bready notes punctuated by carob chips and coffee.”

Ho Hum
The best of the three expressions of this brand is the Connecticut wrapper. This one starts to lose its flavor after about one quarter of the stogie is smoked.

Enclave
I have had one, because I wanted to try one as soon as I got them, the balance are resting for another month or so. For the value these were well worth the money. They had a smooth even burn, good flavor, and overall an enjoyable smoke.

Enclave AJ Fernandez
Great taste full flavor makes it one of my favorite

Medium body
This cigar has a nice wrapper and very good construction. A medium body with a toasty earthy flavor. The robusto is a relatively quick but enjoyable smoke

Best new cigar
This review is based solely on one Toro that I picked up at my local B&M....this is the best cigar I have tried in a very long time. Loved everything about it! I just ordered a box and can't wait for them to arrive....hope they are as good as the first!

Great Cigar!
I have to admit I was a bit skeptical when I picked up these. I have been disappointed with other cigars from "AJ". I've smoked 3 of these so far in the last week. This stick is very good! Very good roll, very easy draw, tons of smoke, even burn and great tobacco flavor. They have a winner with this one. I will include these for some of my fellow "Lovers of the Leaf" at my Daughters wedding this fall. Please give these a try, they are very enjoyable.

not bad...
good cigar, best fernandez cigar effort to date: doesn't have that cheap taste most of his other cigars have. it still isn't quite at the highest level of cigar, though, but getting closer. it ain't easy, baby.

A winner
Just came back from Cigarfest and grabbed my first new cigar today. It's very smooth and at the same time flavorful. I'll definitely buy these.

AJ Fernandez Enclave; Homerun
The Enclave is a great stick at the pricepoint. Plenty of flavor, consistent construction, and easily was added to my go to list.

Enclave is a stand alone amongst many others
The dictionary describes Enclave as an area with people who are different in some way from the people in the areas around it. This is a cigar that lives up to its meaning. I see this cigar as a stand-out over and above the crowded cigars of our industry. Bellows of smoke from first light, then a little spicy, and then to a smooth finish. Definitely my go to cigar.

Not a big Churchill fan,
Not a big Churchill fan, but enclave flavor and aroma among the best

Nice cigar but too strong for my taste.
Was recommended by an acquaintance so I figured I would give them a try. Really nice looking cigar, easy to light, good draw and burned smoothly, just not my kind of smoke. I prefer an Alec Bradley Presando or an Illusione MJ12 over an Enclave just to give a reference of my taste profile. Again, nice cigar, just not my suitable to my palate.

Enclave A great AJ Fernandez addition
Finally got to try the Enclave and give it 5 stars...much like the Oval and Bull it delivers the goods, tasty, mellow yet good flavor and strength, it's a winner!

This the best cigar I have purchased in the last 2 years, without question!

best fernandez
best fernandez cigar i have had. very earthy and tangy, with nice flavor changes, creamy, and medium+ strong. i think the complexity and balance are better here than in any fernandez cigar i have smoked. this is a very fine cigar.

Another hit by AJ.
Smoke has a medium level spice profile that lays nicely on the tongue from beginning to end. I've made through almost a box and each one had an easy draw with nice volume of smoke. I've added this cigar to my regular rotation of smokes. My other top favorites: Flor de la Antilles, Jaime Garcia Especial, R&J 1875, Obsidian White Noise, El Ray de Mundo and Fallen Angel Devil's Ink.

Great Smoke
This is one of AJF's greatest creations. Very good burn, great taste, and well made. Paired with a top shelf bourbon, you can't go wrong. Highly recommend.

The Enclave!
Being an AJ fan, I was anxious to get my hands on the Enclave. This is a delicious cigar, delivering rich, earthy spices, (think nutmeg and cinnamon) some cedar, and a bit of creaminess in the smoke.

Don't Agree With the Others
The box of Churchills just arrived about a week ago, let them sit & lit one up for Sunday's 1:00 game. Unfortunately has a very flowery ash, definitely had to keep an eye on it so it didn't keep ending up in my lap, also had to keep relighting it. Flavor so far was just okay, nothing great, especially considering what I'm used to from AJ...I am a big fan of his, the San Loatano Habano is one of my favorite all time smokes. I'll toss these in the humi for a few months and see how they come along. My advice, do not commit to a box for now, if you want to try these stick to a 5 pack.

Excellent Smoke For the Price
AJ Fernandez just keeps turning them out. Seems as if they just can't miss hitting the right blend. And their price is so much better than anything else out there that might be similar. But, really, there's nothing similar to Fernandez smokes.

Another winner from the master
I agree with the other reviews of this newest offering from AJ. It's another winner, and has quickly become one of my favorites along with the New World, and the Relic (although I'd now have to put Relic in 3rd place among these). The rosado wrapper I think heavily influences the experience of cinnamon and spice that exists throughout the smoke. After trying 5 toro's I bought some churchills and am letting them rest in the humi before trying them. I don't know how he does it, but Senor Fernandez keeps coming up with great tasting cigars and smoking experiences. Enclave is just the latest in his broad line of top notch offerings. Try them, you won't be disappointed.

An A+ cigar at an affordable price
Another "Grand Slam" by AJ. A wonderful smoking experience.....talk about clouds of smoke and layers of flavor. In my own experience, the robusto starts out more as full (possibly not a starter cigar for the newbies) but magically by 1/3rd in, the cigar mellows out to smooth, creamy, delicious delight with nuances of several flavors. The Enclave should be on the short list of every cigar aficionado......especially a true value compared with some pricer brands.

Thank you, sir. May I please have another?
9/10/15 I picked one up at a local B&M here in the Atlanta area at the recommendation of it's proprietor. He said, "It's quite different than the New World, but a definite contender!" I have to say that I whole-heartedly agree. HELLUVA cigar! I LOVE the New World, but I'll be getting more of the Enclave, to be certain! The Churchill opened up beautifully at the end of the 2nd 3rd and became a real treat. Thank you, sir. May I please have another?

AJ does it again with a smooth smoking experience
Like every cigar AJ makes this one is constructed beautifully and has a perfect draw. It's not as strong and peppery as I usually like as his Man O'War line of cigars are, but it's a great cigar for what it is. Medium-full is pretty accurate and I get some hints of cedar, light pepper, and an ever so slight cocoa aftertaste. No bitterness whatsoever and it still gets a 5-star rating in my book even though I like his more full flavored sticks such as Man O'War Ruination and the Man O'War limited edition orange counter choppers cigar.

AJ knocks it out of the park
AJ Fernandez has another winner on his hands. This cigar goes back to his Cuban roots with a incredible blend. You will taste hints of cedar, cinnimon, pepper and other great flavors as you burn this one down.. Great construction in thus one allows for a even burn snd a long tight ash. This is a must have.
