Allow me to re-introduce...El Centurion.
No doubt you’ve heard of Jose “Pepin” Garcia, one of the great cigar makers of our time. And chances are you’ve sampled some of his work, but I can guarantee you’ve never seen anything like this before. Originally a limited-edition cigar, El Centurion is back and here to stay.
Staying true to the original blend, Pepin packs the El Centurion with all well-aged Nicaraguan tobaccos. The kicker here is he incorporates the super-unique Sancti Spiritus leaf which morphs this blend into a spicy-sweet beast with notes of pepper and leather. Medium to full in body, El Centurion is tasty right out of the box and after a few months of diligent aging, the real fireworks begin!
El Centurion is available in two different wrapper varieties. The H-2K version comes wrapped in a top secret Connecticut sun grown wrapper from a hybrid Havana 2000 seed that produces an intensly flavorful cigar. The others come wrapped in an oily sun grown Criollo '98 leaf.
Good news, El Centurion by My Father Cigars has received a well-deserved 90-point rating, and the H-2K version has scored as high as 93-points, noting: "Covered in a toothy, oily wrapper, this cigar delivers a flavorful balance of cedar and tobacco spiced with some pepper notes."
Aged a Toro Grande for a year. It was the best I've had. Smooth, and the flavors became even. Notes of leather, nuts, and a very little spice. Recommended!
One of the best I ever smoked. Too bad I found these at the age of 63!
Not a bad thing to say about this one. Well made with a beautiful dark wrapper. Love how the oils really bubble thru. Sign of a quality cigar in my book. Gonna have to let a few age to see how much better it gets. Featured recently at my cigar club night and nobody was disappointed.
i've had a few of these and throughly enjoyed them. freaking great cigar for the price!
excellent stick!!! after a inch in taste becomes creamy and i pic up slight notes of caramel. Very smooth retro-hale. one of my top 3 favorite sticks. Winner!!!
You can tell this is a Pepin cigar. Nice, dark oily wrapper, solid construction, good draw, and even burn. Pre-light aromas are stout and deceiving, suggesting a very strong cigar. Yet this smokes like a medium to medium-full, opening with a leathery taste an ample amounts of smoke. As you get into the cigar, the spice builds and changes a bit, never gets overbearing, and has a solid finish. The burn, like the flavors and amount of smoke are consistant throughout. I only had this belicoso in my humidor for a few weeks, so I imagine this stick will only get better with age. Even without, this is a solid smoke at a good price.
