Ernesto Perez-Carrillo is one of the most legendary cigar makers in the world. He’s credited with starting the super popular La Gloria Cubana brand, jump-starting the big-ring cigar trend, and he’s taken home many Top Cigar of year awards. The inch Series was created to highlight larger ring cigars and powerful blends, and for the first time ever, he’s releasing a new one that’s produced in Nicaragua.
The Inch Nicaragua is being produced by another legendary cigar family – the Plascencia’s. Carrillo wanted to make an all-Nicaraguan blend, and the Placencia’s had all the great tobaccos he needed. The wrapper is a shade-grown leaf from Jalapa, and there is tobacco from Estelí and Condega on the inside as well. It has a strong peppery character with a nice caramel sweetness and some spice.
