The Red Eye got its name for a reason. Smoking this rich full body cigar is akin to dining on a top shelf aged smokehouse steak or a bottle of dark red wine that has that strong taste of fermenting in a aged oak barrel.

This is one of my favorites with a cup of coffee in the morning, the flavors combined together are amazing.

I love the Tabak line and this was the only one I hadn't tried yet. I wasn't disappointed in the least with this one. Strong coffee flavor, with the sweetness that goes well with a hot cup of coffee or your favorite drink.

This was my first Tabak but not my first Drew Estate offering. I was thoroughly impressed. The construction was unusual in that the foot protruded from the wrapping giving a somewhat shaggy look topped with a brittle pigtail that could be bitten off if you chose. I used a deep V cut which caused a fair amount of tobacco powder to be felt during dry pull, this seems to be a common Drew Estate issue due to the method they use to backfill heads and caps. I learned quickly that exposed foot was best lit in the light toast and puff near flame method. This caused a much more even light and burn through out than a long toast which caused the foot to prematurely burn to the wrapper. The flavor was intense but not overwhelming Strong espresso, sweet chocolate, and spices. The flavors held strong for the first third at which point the espresso faded, the chocolate remained, and the spice became more intense by the last third chocolate could only be tasted through retro exhale and the spice was approaching strong. Of the five that I received nearly all of them burned without any touchups. The smoke was thick, chewy, did not dry your mouth at all and smelled wonderful. Not quite espresso but close. I nubbed every one and gave one away which was also smoked to the nub. I look forward to trying the rest of the Tabak line. Well done Drew Estate another top notch cigar.

Drew estates outdid themselves with this particular surprise I don't normally like flavored cigars however this particular cigar has a great taste of coffee and chocolate probably probably better than the Java cigars which I thought were the best, drew estates makes the best when it comes to this particular type of cigar, love it and continue to purchase this particular cigar
