An exquisite handmade cigar.
Made by Stanford Newman, Diamond Crown cigars are an elusive super premium that utilizes a special, "Connecticut Fermented Wrapper" (CFW). This 5-year old wrapper undergoes multiple fermentation processes, giving it a unique taste filled with sweet, rich flavors. A luxurious experience that commands top dollar. Highly rated and heavily praised.
Diamond Crown received a well-deserved 92-rating noting: "This is a pretty robusto with an excellent draw. It delivers earthy flavors while remaining smooth and round, and has hints of nutmeg and burnt spices."
Quantities are extremely limited.
Like all have said before, this is a most excellent smoke. I had a Conny Busto & it was oh so delish. They're pricey, but you get what you pay for. Get them while available ;-)
Gave the Diamond Crown a smoke last night. Very, very nice premium cigar. Incredibly smooth, nice taste, great draw and smoke. I was greatly impressed with it. Also liked that it had a mild kick to it. Definitely thought it was worth the price. The Diamond Crown seems like a great place to start for those wanting a top end fine cigar.
The Diamond Crown #4 is one of my all time favorite sticks. Incredible smoke, superb construction, and fairly priced I think. I have smoked a lot of cigars and have a pretty decent stash built up and I still go to the DC#4 regularly. If you haven't tried one yet, you are missing out.
Trying a Diamond Crown maduro for the 1st time. Got it for a xmas present. Wow! What an enjoyable smoke! A little sweetness, smooth, creamy, just a great cigar! Hope to smoke some more!
I had my first one last night , WOW I was so impressed with this stick , what and amazing flavor profile . By far my in my top 5 ever and that is hard to get Into ! To me this is worth the money I can not wAit to get a box and I will always have these available in my humidor ! I would recommend this smoke to anyone , my only complaint is that I havnt tried this cigar years ago !
Just enjoyed a DC(figurado) paired with Glenfiddich 12 yr. I had a DC robusto and was not happy with that cigar on that occasion. It burned unevenly and tasted a little harsh. Granted the torpedo was aged for just over a year, this particular cigar burned and smoked much better. It was extremely smooth with sweet wood flavor. I also feel that the single malt complimented this cigar very well.
By far my favorite cigar. Smooth, creamy, with thick clouds of smoke. This cigar beats a Cuban any day of the week. To bad I can only afford these for special occasions, otherwise this is all I would ever buy.
I had the connecticut wrapper, and it was given to me as a gift. This was a smooth and well constructed cigar with mostly cedar and nutty/creamy finish. Not over the top complex as the price may get you to think, but it does deliver exceptionally with the few flavors that I was able to pick up all throughout. I had a big ring gauge, and it was a nice cool burn with very little burn issues, had firm but flakey white ash and a tad too loose a draw. To me, I like my coffee black, but sometimes a little cream doesn't hurt with good quality beans. I have to say that this cigar had the same effect on me. Nice rich fillers that are somewhat masked by a heavy creamy blonde wrapper. Considering the price point, I wouldn't buy this unless you're comfortable spending that much on a regular basis, but if you're into mild creamy smokes, than you will enjoy this based on its construction quality and care in blending tobacco. Overall it's easy to downplay a cigar that comes with a big price tag, and I don't want to compare with other mild blends, but I was still more impressed with the 5 vegas gold in terms of changing flavors and overall complexity.
This is a WONDERFUL smoke! Had a #7 Maduro Torpedo. This lasted almost a full 90 minutes and was smooth from beginning to end. Great draw, beautiful construction, consistant through and through. Even the ash was firm and when pressed didn't crumble like most but split apart clearly showing the different tobacco leaves used in making this great smoke. I have 4 more of these and will be saving them for special events.
This Cigar is one of the best smokes(Diamond Crown (CFW)) I have ever had. Way to go Diamond Crown!! I like it more than the Opus X which too me is an awesome Cigar as well!! The flavor is very distinct much in the same way a Padron has a distinct flavor regardless of which type of Padron you smoke. If I could afford these , I would smoke them all the time!! Cheers, Brad Wenzel
