30 Years of CAO
The top of the line from CAO, L’Anniversaire celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the CAO brand. This beautiful Nicaraguan maduro is making people forget all about Cuban cigars, with its rich, medium to full-bodied and balanced profile. The incredible success of this L’Anniversaire line spawned a sequel: the 92-rated L’Anniversaire Cameroon.
L’Anniversaire Maduro features a mixture of tobaccos that includes a Cameroon binder, and fillers from both Nicaragua and Dominican Republic. On top, the Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper is oily, glistening with a shine that easily invites you in. Lighting the foot, you’ll find a toasty and chocolatey flavor profile that will easily satisfy any fan of CAOs, maduros, or just premium cigars in general.
The CAO L’Anniversaire Maduro has received a 90-rating, noting: “Beautiful color and construction. A well-made cigar. It burns well, with a fine draw. The cigar has intriguing notes of espresso and honey, with a steely undertone. Peppery and rich.”
The best cigar there is. There is no better.
I'm two years into being a newbie , but wow what a great cigar. I got one from a local retailer then got a box. Can't wait til they are delivered.
One of my favorite cigars. Decent price, great taste, good draw. Im a maduro fan and this is a great choice for anyone that is also. Ive enjoyed all shapes and sizes of this cigar. The only problem ive had is with my last box of toro. They seem to wanna try to unravel on me a little. Im sure its just the box that i recieved because ive never had this problem before. Also try any of of the other caos
Awesome smoke, one of my favorites!
an outstanding cigar from start to finish
Still one of my favorites. Good rich taste but not harsh. Good draw. Time to buy another box.
Very nice smoke. I would say more toward the full side of the "medium-full" scale. Burned evenly and never went out. Not a ton of smoke output, but adequate. I enjoyed this cigar very much and would purchase it again.
It took a few of these in a sampler pack to convince me that something was different. Now I have enjoyed my way through part of my first box and I am happy to say that this is the best medium maduro I have found yet. I don't rate cigars often as I have only been smoking them for a few years, but this cigar deserves mention. Sweet and complex flavors, yet full of rich medium strength. All have had a good draw and consistent burn, almost each one. Do yourself a favor and try this treat. I have smoked quite a few of CAO's cigars but this one is a real stand out.
I have been smoking cigars for over ten years. I have yet to smoke a Maduro cigar this good. My favorite cigar used to be a Graycliff 1666 till I had one of these!
Received a 5pk of belicosos about 2 wks ago- I have the same thought of everyone else. This cigar burns very well, very good taste , can't get enough of these! Smell was simply delicious before & after lighting,up! Will be ordering a bundle of these soon! One if the best smokes I've tried! Thank you
The CAO Maduro Belicoso is the cigar that taught me to love cigars. The draw, flavor, appearance, consistency..... it really takes you to school and demands respect. I usually buy a box a year and pick up a few sampler packs between refills. Recently, however, I bought a box of these only to discover there have been substantial changes. Downgrades if you will. All the exceptional is gone. Distinction is missing. The flavor has changed substantially and doesn't remind me of anything I'd want to remember. The draw is just normal. The construction isn't anything special anymore. Or, perhaps it's just this box and there is a major problem with consistency. Regardless, I fear the romance is gone... and I dare say this will be the last box I buy.
Awesome smoke! Probably my favorite. I would pick this over just about any other cigar. A must try!
For years people gave me cigars. I would try them and still did not understand what people saw in them. Then one day I was in a Cigar shop and noticed the CAO Maduro. It looked like it would be good. It was at this point I found out what others saw in cigars. Twelve years and countless maduros later, the CAO Maduro remains in my top 5 cigars. They remain outstanding in quality and most important, in taste.
I have smoked a lot of cigars from CI, but without a doubt the CAO Maduro Churchill is #1 ! It has a full-flavored, toasty sweet taste, burns perfectly and can be re-lit the next morning without a nasty bite. I love the Ashton VSG Maduro , but it's twice the price! I usually have one after dinner with a glass of Merlot or an Absolut Vodka Baybreeze. I'll smoke 2/3rds of it and have the last 1/3rd with my morning pot of green tea. Heaven !!! A happy CI shopper in NJ.
I usually prefer mild to medium cigars, but I tried one of these in a Churchill from a CAO sample pack and it was the best one. As soon as I finished it, I wanted another. I haven't any other cigar taste that good.
Very fine smoking experience. I've had these six months ago so when I seen them on Joe's daily deal, I purchased them. They were small but for ten cigars for about $30.00 are a deal. I remember one was around $15.00- I think they were 7"/48 or 42. If I look them up I could tell you. I enjoy them alot all the way to that nub. I've even insert a toothpick at the nub so my fingers won't burn. APPEARANCE 90, TASTE 89, CONSTRUCTION 89, QUALITY 89.25
I have finished my 4th box of 20 (CAO L’Anniversaire Maduro). It is by far may favorite cigar. I am always sad when the nub is so small that it burns my fingers and I must put it out. The flavor rises with each puff to a wonderful crescendo at the very end. They do canoe like a Mohican though.
Wonderful cigar (CAO L'Anniversaire Maduro). Beautiful construction, dead-even burn, firm ash, excellent draw and delightful flavour. This is another cigar that smells so good before you light it, it almost seems a pity to set fire to the thing. This one is certainly worthwhile.
The CAO L' Anniversaire Maduro, sweet, nutty, earthy, nice burn.....88.
My personal rating of this cigar (CAO L'Anniversaire Maduro) is as follows: Delicious from start to finish, right down to the nub. The flavor, the smoke and the feel is excellent. Although, I think the wrapper is quite delicate, and once the wrapper is torn it can be difficult to keep together. I will purchase again.
I recently ordered a 5-pack of these(CAO L'Anniversire Maduro) just to try something new, and was really impressed with the quality and flavor. It made my old favorite Partagas #10 seem harsh by comparison. Smoked the 6.8 inch Churchill right down to the nub!
The CAO maduro (CAO L''Anniversaire Maduro) is excellent. It starts of mild and builds in strength to a full finish. Excellent construction and flavor. It's my 2nd favorite maduro next to the Oliva "O" maduro.
