CAO Comes Close to Perfection

The CAO L’Anniversaire cigar line was developed in honor of the 30th anniversary of CAO cigars. The Cameroon Series is a highly successful complement to the incredible success of CAO’s L’Anniversaire Maduro series. 

In a nutshell, the Cameroon is an unforgettable blend with a great looking box-pressed shape. Made with reddish-brown Cameroon wrappers from Africa and premium Nicaraguan long-fillers and binders. Mellow to medium-bodied in taste and box-pressed — this is one attractive, high-quality release.

The L’Anniversaire Cameroon has received a 92-rating, noting: “Nicely pressed, with rich color. The cigar has a lovely draw and burn. It’s nutty and toasty, with coffee, cocoa and dry wood flavors.”

Note: CAO L'Anniversaire Cameroon recently underwent a packaging update. We currently have a mix of old and new packaging, so you may receive either. The cigars are the same, just the bands & boxes have changed.

I expected more from this little guy but a combination of wrapping coming off at different areas and irregular burn has jaded my opinion. Two of the box were terrific and all seem to draw well if cracking at base not present. Was hoping for a smaller 660

My first, got this cigar in a 5 pack of random smokes. I found it a good draw, even burn, not harsh or bitter but not a cigar I would put in the top 10. Have to try another to get a better idea. I always have my smoke with black coffee. The two didn't mesh very well, but still not bad.

Have had gotten several of these over the last few months via the grab back. While at this time I wouldn't personally put them as a goto cigar for me, they do have a nice even draw and burn to them. Until I can find the right pairing that will aid in bringing out the best of the cigar I'll hold off on buying in bulk and just continue to get lucky via the grab bags lol. Personally no such thing as a "bad" cigar, just means haven't found the right drink/food to pair with it. The best I've tried with this thus far has been Angry Orchard Hard Cider beer, the crisp apple from the beer enhances and sweetens the wood/cedar taste I've caught hints of in my other tries. I do wish CI gave some pairing suggestions with the cigars.

This is my favorite CAO. The construction is pretty good and the size is just right for a quick after dinner smoke. This little perfecto draws well and the burn was even. The first half offered flavors of semi sweet tobacco with some creamy floral notes. The second half found the cream fade away and was replaced by sweet earthy notes. Verdict, a very pleasant cigar and good value.
