J.C. Newman has been crafting cigars for nearly 125 years now. That’s a long time. And they’ve learned a thing or two along the way. One of their finest offerings is their Brick House line of cigars. Both the original and Maduro have received 90+ ratings and have a large following. A few years back, they came out with Brick House Fumas. A more economical version of the original filled ‘Cuban-Sandwhich’ style with the leftover clippings from the original blend. Today, we welcome with open arms a darker version, Brick House Fumas Maduro.

It comes wrapped up in a chocolate brown Sumatra Maduro wrapper, with all Nicaraguan tobaccos bundled up underneath. It delivers a medium-bodied performance with all the great flavor you’ve come to love in Brick House Maduro, but at a price you won’t believe. Nice flavor. The burn is a bit uneven. The brick house rings stick to the cigar wrapper. That tears it up a bit. About 2/3 of the way through the cigar it starts to fall apart. If that didn’t happen, I’d give it five stars.

I am a big fan of Maduro cigars. I started with the Brick House boxes, but have found the bundles of Fumas very affordable and very enjoyable. The four stars is only reflective of the sometimes uneven quality of the roll. Occasionally I will have one canoe very badly despite how much care I have taken in lighting it. The robustos are right for me as "dog walkers" and "course droppers" they're very good cigars and priced so that you don't lose your mind from dropping an expensive stick in a bad spot. Big Brick House fan.
