Arturo Fuente Hemingway

94-Rated: #6 Cigar of 2018

Description

Four years in the making at Tabacalera A. Fuente.

The Hemingway line of cigars is a tasty series of shapely handmades from Carlos Fuente including Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Story. The Fuente family carefully ferments and ages tobaccos, specially selected from only the best crop years. This highly sought after cigar is handmade by only the most experienced cigar makers, each of whom are limited to only 75 cigars per day. The Arturo Fuente Hemingway is aged for six months to fully enhance the flavor and aroma in cedar lined aging rooms.

Lighting these up, you'll find a complex, medium-bodied flavor that the Fuente name is practically synonymous with. The dark and toothy wrapper leaf gives way to a flavor that's rich, toasty, and spicy. Each cigar delivers a wide range of expertly balanced notes, as they burn down to the cool nub. Incredibly rare and sought-after, we'd recommend grabbing a box posthaste.

The Arturo Fuente Hemingway series has earned a 94-rating, calling it the #6 Cigar of 2018. One review noted, "impeccably crafted... spicy and woody notes turn to sweet leather and cedar. Balanced and elegant, medium-bodied."

NOTE: The Arturo Fuente Hemingway line is an extremely limited release brand. We receive small shipments whenever we can, so if they're showing out of stock, check back often or sign up for notifications so you don't miss out when we get more! If they're in stock, our advice is to stock up!

Due to limited supply, purchases of Arturo Fuente cigars will be limited to one per customer.

This cigar is a nice smoke. Balanced flavors throughout, no harsh taste as it burns downs. HIghly recommend adding this to your humidor.

These are really great cigars; they smoke beautifully, have tons of flavor and are consistently well crafted....no canoes or wrappers coming unwrapped. And the price from CI beats anything within a hour's drive....and most places I would not be able to buy these cigars. Love 'em

My absolute go-to cigar. I smoke these pretty much anywhere I relax- walking the dog, watching my kid's baseball games/practice, grilling, you name it. It's the leisure cigar to love. It starts slow and can burn a little uneven but mostly it has an even burn and good flavor. The middle third is absolutely the best. You just have to try it. The last bit isn't bad either; i usually smoke it to the nub until I can't hold it anymore. Smoke takes me 30-40 min to get through - I'm estimating because I never actually timed it, but my dog walks are 45-50 min and i usually finish about 3/4 of the way of the walk. Great smoke imo.

The short story cigar is one of my favorites. Really, the Hemingway series in general. I love the construction and blend. But it's really the size of the sShort Story cigar that makes it one of my go-to's: facility reper ratio changes as I smoke, and it's just about the right size to be classified as a "quick smoke."

Not my typical size pick, however I was truly impressed with the smooth slow burn and flavors. For the price and being an AF, you can't go wrong.

For that quality you find in a Fuente smoke, but only have about 45 minutes, this is the gem you are looking for.

This is an awesome cigar from the Dominican. I'm a huge fan of Arturo Fuente cigars and I am not sure which I like best out of the Hemingway and Don Carlos. I think they are great smokes but in different ways. I'm on my second box of these, first the Short Story and now the Work of Art. Both sizes bring it home for me delivering rich chewy flavors from start to finish. If I had any complaints about this line it would be that these stay the same throughout and I would love them in larger sizes and shapes. However I'm not complaining because they taste great and the construction and draw are flawless. Very unique flavors all the way to the nub. Hope they never stop making these. I will buy more when available!!!

Structure around mouth end seemed loose, and the first 3 cigars I tried were difficult to light-indicating the tobacco was not cured long enough. When I finally got them going-the smoke was harsh-not the smooth cigar I am used to. First time I experienced anything other than perfection-was my favorite cigars for decades .

They have been tough to get, I consider this a special box for my Humi. I think they are one of the best cigars out there. Sure I like the God of Fire's and T-9's and such, but this for one of my better cigars is something I reach for. Love them!

The name pretty much describes these little beauties. If I had one critique about them is I wish they were 60 ring gauge all the way through. They do tend to get a little bitter towards the end.

Arturo Fuente Hemingway

Steve R

Last night I decided to crack open the old El Presidente humidor at home. It’s been a long time since I’ve touched this thing, other than the routine re-charge of the humidifiers. After taking a peak inside and under the lift-out tray I was quite impressed with the collection of lovelies I’ve been sitting on.

At the bottom were a few Hemingway Signatures. I don’t remember buying them, but I have no problem smoking them. Not a day goes by when I don’t hear good things about these heavily sought cigars, so I was looking forward to re-visiting the blend. Especially after pulling them out of the humidor. The Signatures are pretty. A perfecto-shaped vitola sporting a smooth Cameroon wrapper. I filled my 3-capacity Xikar case and hit the streets of downtown Bethlehem.

Despite being pretty, the wrapper is extremely delicate, as two small cracks formed from clipping the cap. The cigar lit easily, thanks to the tiny foot at the bottom of its slightly tapered 6” x 47 barrel. The draw was a tad tight, but loosened after burning for a minute or two. In the beginning, the flavor was a bit flat. The cigar bit at the back of my palate, leaving behind a tannic aftertaste. Fortunately, this faded as a sweet, cedary note gradually came into the picture. Nice, something to enjoy other than aesthetics. The Signature didn’t offer too many twists or turns throughout the journey. Rather, I seemed to be taking a long straightaway on cruise control. The woody flavors dominated, and a little bit of pepper pushes through the nose. I expected a nutty character, since I tend to find this in Cameroon-wrapper cigars. Not here. The strength plateaus at a solid medium-bodied, with no increase towards the end.

I guess this is why so many new cigar enthusiasts enjoy this cigar…it’s consistent in both performance and flavor, from start to finish. When you light one up, you know exactly what you’re in for. In that respect, it’s very similar to the traditional Fuente line. Well made and straightforward. I’ve said it before: I like complexity…a cigar that either changes or offers a few more layers of flavor. The Hemingway may look good and smoke well, but it’s not for me.
