This Don reigns supreme
The Don Carlos line from Arturo Fuente is among their very best. And when you make a cigar brand this amazing, that's really saying something. Utilizing some of the highest quality Cameroon leaf on the market, Don Carlos has been impressing aficionados for decades. The Fuente name, combined with top Cameroon wrappers and fine Dominican long-filler tobaccos make this well-aged cigar a highly sought after commodity. Each exquisitely rolled specimen delivers flavors of nuttiness, sweetness, earth, and a very smooth black pepper through the retrohale. Enjoy it on it's own, or pair this one up with your favorite single-malt — either way, you're going to enter complete bliss.Arturo Fuente Don Carlos received Top 25 honors for 2015 (#4 overall) and a well-deserved 94-rating, a 97-rating, and the #1 Cigar of the Year for 2017: "Its wrapper-to-filler ratios resulted in a perfect combination of the Cameroon cover leaf’s sweet-and-sour properties along with the Dominican binder and filler, which gave the cigar a zesty, nutty quality full of shaved almonds and candied orange peel."
Due to limited supply, purchases of Arturo Fuente cigars will be limited to one per customer.
I have smoked nearly every premium one can readily obtain and the Don Carlos #2 is the best cigar these lips have ever touched in the $10 range. Dare I say it competes hand and hand with a Padron 1964 even at a lower price point? Yes I do! In fact, this cigar was better than any Opus X I have ever had from Arturo Fuente. Well done Mr. Fuente, well done.
Very nice cigar. Medium strength. Any time of the day cigar.
Extremely easy to light. Excellent construction, draw and burn. Easy draw and heavy smoke output. Medium weight creamy smoke on the palate. Mild to medium strength and medium to full flavors. Ever changing flavors of sweet dark chocolate, leather, cherry and roasted nuts. Sweet tobacco taste on the lips. Medium length dry finish after each draw with hints of sweet cedar and oak. Slight increase in strength at the half way point.
What can be said further about this cigar. One of lifes little pleasures. consistant burn, smoke, flavor.. treated myself for the Holidays.. Now a new tradition. Buy a Christmas tree, and order a box of Fuente Don Carlos Belicoso's
If I was stranded on a desert island and had only one cigar this would be it.
The best there is (IMHO).
DC #2 Torpedo is the finest smoke around....at $11 a pop however, I only savior them on rare occasions, proving once again, you get what you pay for...simply the best!
I started smoking cigars two years ago on a deployment in Iraq. Ever since I've tried as many different cigars as possible to see what I like best. I came across the Arturo Fuente Don Carlos a couple of months ago and let them settle in my humidor. Finally fired one up two weeks ago and it is the best cigar hands down I've ever smoked! This is now my all-time favorite and have had a few more since with the same quality experience. Glad CI has them at the most reasonable prices out there, as I've ordered many more.
Bought a box of the #3 in an auction and got a great deal on them. I'd like to try the larger ring guage vitolas as I felt I was getting more Cameroon wrapper than filler leaf flavor. I almost felt like I was smoking something from Drew Estate (not that there's necessarily anything wrong with flavored cigars) as the finish was quite sweet. I smoked 3 sticks, and ended up selling the rest to a very grateful friend of mine.
The Arturo Fuente Don Carlos #2 Bellicose is like a fine woman: smooth and delicate on the outside, mild and sweet to the taste, a beautiful bouquet, perfectly constructed which gets better and wetter and has a bold finish! - Julius Stuckey, Alabama
The Don Carlos (Arturo Fuente Don Carlos)was one of the best tasting and robust cigars I have ever smoked. It is comparable to the Cohiba Vigoroso and the CAO Italia in robustness. If you like a good strong flavor then it's worth the price.
