Great cigar pairing for the price

this is one of my favorite combos that CI offers. It allows me to purchase great cigars and sample ones I may not normally try. I am still a novice but enjoy so much that aspect . I have never had a bad Hoya or Vegas 5 when I buy the gentlemen's deuce. come to think of it I have never had a bad cigar at all from CI. many years ago, I tried cigars from Brand X, and the first one I lit, burned unevenly, wouldn't stay lit , and the end blew up like a blunderbust! (google it if you are under 30)

Always looking for the Hoyo Excaliburs in bundles. A favorite. The Vegas golds, have wanted to try for some time.

Both mild, 5 Vegas the milder. Love the Excalibur's flavor, consistent. 5 Vegas has had allot of stems lately, from not removing veins from the larger leaves. I find myself picking at the stems between puffs! Still, 5 Vegas gold is a good value smoke. I will order again, so should you.

Bought this sampler for a wedding party, my so (the Groom) likes Hoyo, and the 5 Vegas was a great partner to this cigar. The sampler arrived on time.

Excalibur is my go to cigar, and I have loved them for well over twenty years because of their excellent quality. This was my first time experiencing 5 Vegas gold and I was pleasantly surprised by their even burn and mellow flavor. I enjoyed them so much I ordered some more.

My very first purchase with Cigars International was a sampler pack that included a variety of 5 Vegas cigars. I had never heard of this brand but they have become one of my favorites. Hoyo was the same, but they're even better than the Vegas. This particular sampler gives me the best of both worlds.

Hoyo Excalibur & 5 Vegas Gold are 2 Connecticut I always keep on hand. Excalibur is smooth with a little peppery spice to it. Gold is creamy. Love them on my boat when in the mood for something on the mild side

This is one of my favorite samplers but.......this time both blends had at least 2 out of 5 cigars with so many stems they were tough to smoke. IBM I will try again as this was the exception. They did not de-vein these. I will give them another try when they are on sale.

I found the Vegas 5 burned somewhat unevenly. Taste was mild and satisfactory. The #3 Hoya Excalibur was excellent in every way. It will become one of my regulars.

Mellow Smoke

The Hoyo Excalibur Epicure is the perfect size of the perfect cigar! Mellow, smooth, even burn -- exactly what I need to unwind in the afternoon on the back porch enjoying the mountain view or relaxing in the hot tub. Don't get me wrong, the 5 Vegas Gold is great cigar but I may have found my ultimate cigar in the Hoya Excalibur. Thank you, CI, for introducing us -- this will be a long and enjoyable relationship.

Not a very consistent burn

Two of my favorite smokes. Just the right balance between the two for a very mild or medium taste which I enjoy the most. Great for the golf course; mild to start, stronger to finish.

I have smoked 1 of each and had to relight several times. The cigars are ok, just will not stay lit.

I am not one that likes a heavy cigar. Both were pretty smooth in flavor with no aftertaste. I have added these two to my list of cigars to get going forward.

Vegas cigar are smooth

The Hoyos were less flavorful than the 5 Vegas Gold. Both mild, but Hoyos were too mild for me. 5 Vegas has fairly good flavor under a smooth mild smoke. Funny, I used to like Hoyos. Guess my taste buds have shifted to stronger flavored cigars like Diesel Uncut Connecticut and maduro sticks.

It seems that they were a little dry, some of the papers on them are falling off on a few cigars...

Two good cigars however I recommend that you leave the Hoya Excalibur cigars in the humidor for a week or so to prevent unraveling. These Hoyos have been bad about doing this on my last few purchases.

Great mild cigars for a great price

I am new to the art of smoking cigars. My son told me about the site and I was very pleased with the selections and prices. Both of these have been favorites in the past, but at least half of that opinion has changed. I still enjoy Hoyo Excalibur and all the other cigars in that line, but 5 Vegas Gold is fading fast from preferred status in my humidor. Perhaps it's my tastes changing, but I no longer find this to be the mellow smoke it once was. The "good" tobacco flavors seem to be missing, and there remains some harshness and bitterness, especially after the first third of the stick.

I grieved my order in a timely fashion, the 5 Vegas Gold were not in good condition (dry and cracking)...the Hoyo Excalibur however were in excellent condition. I have enjoyed them and I was very impressed with them

The Hoya's are great, have always liked them. The 5 Vegas are ok, so far smoked just 1 of those and the draw was not smooth and creamy.

The Excalibur was a very good smoke. 4 of the 5 were great. Great draw, pretty good burn, lots of smoke, very easy smoke that I wouldn't feel bad about smoking every day. The 5 Vegas Gold was mostly hit or miss. If the burn and draw were good, the taste was seriously lacking. If the burn was bad and the draw ~ok~ the taste was much better. Overall the good ones were pretty good, but the bad ones were a fight to the bitter end. Very possible that they needed more time in the humidor as I have a friend that swears by them.

Ordered this set as a gift, arrived very quickly. Will post soon to let you know how they burn.

Great cigars at a very reasonable price.

Hoyo Excalibur's were great. However the 5 Vegas Gold were bad. Fist three of them I've tried were difficult to draw on and ran up one side. Tossed them after 15 minute struggle.

Since getting these, I have only smoked one of each. The 5 Gold was good as usual... I had never had the Excalibur before, so, I was very pleased with the smoke! I usually don't expect much out of a cigar until I let it sit in the humidor for a while, but, the Excalibur smoked well, burned even, and tasted great! I'd definitely purchase this set again!

Great smokes for a great price!

The Hoyo Excaliburs were delicious as always. Good draw, great flavor, a nice change from my regular cigars. The 5 Vegas Gold were tasty but each one I punched or cut seemed to split at the top. Found myself putting more of the cigar in my mouth to get a full draw.

I purchased the Rampler for an annual golf outing with friends. The Hoyo Excaliburs and Vegas Golds arrived within a couple of days. They were a great smoke and an added treat for the day. Thanks!

These cigars are a favorite. They always exceed my expectations.

The Vegas Gold is a nice smoke for about two bucks per stick. The Excalibur was slightly disappointing, only because the draw was a bit too tight. Nice flavor, even smoke, but I probably wouldn't go for the Ex again.

Both cigars are a good smoke, a little mild for my liking but satisfing none the less. The vegas gold was probably my favorite of the two with a nice draw and a cedar finish. They Hoyo was similar but a bit more of a bite.

The Hoyo is outstanding from start to finish. The first 5 Vegas Gold was a little dry so I let them rest in the humi for a couple of weeks and that made a huge difference. Great price too.

I bought this combo for the Hoyo's. They're one of my favorites. I've always thought of 5 Vegas as a cheaper cigar. This combo surprised me. The Hoyo's are excellent as always, but the 5 Vegas is much better than I thought it would be. Even burn, smooth, a little milder than the Hoyo's, but a very enjoyable smoke. I'd buy this combo again.

Nothing super exciting but good smokes for the price. Good everyday smoke. I smoke while I'm in traffic.

The Hoyo's are a nice complex smoke, but the 5 Vegas golds are not very unique-hints of slight pepper through out almost creamy but not really.

Nifty flavors form these mild ones. Excalibur is a great smoke.

The cigars looked good and construction was good but they are skunky when smoked. I know these are good cigars because I have had them from cigar shops. So you guess is a good as mine??

Hoyo Excalibur were terrific, the 5 Vegas Gold were very hard. They were a very hard draw, I gave them away.

I bought the Gentleman's Deuce with Hoyo Excalibur and 5 Vegas Gold. Both were very good but I personally prefer the 5 Vegas Gold over the Hoyo Excalibur. The Hoyo Excalibur has a 91 rating but it was harsh toward the end and the 5 Vegas Gold was smooth throughout.

These smokes are a solid light bodied cigar easy to enjoy... Great for bringing over to friends houses or sharing while out and about... Price is right too... Good mix!!!

The Excalibur is one of my favorite cigars (second to Partagas Spanish Rosado) and I often buy them when they're on sale. I still have not tried the 5 Vegas, but they do have good reviews so I'm sure they're solid.

This sampler was on my first order from CI. I really enjoyed the Hoyo, but the 5 Vegas was a huge disappointment. I will not get the sampler again because of the 5 Vegas, instead I'm just going to order the Hoyo Excaliburs. 4 stars just because the Hoyo is that good.
