If you’re a cigar connoisseur like me, you know that Gurkha is reputable as the ‘Rolls Royce’ of cigars, and Cohiba does one better with Cohiba Behike as the Bentley of the brand. This prestigious cigar is an exclusive, produced in extremely limited quantities. Gaining outstanding ratings, Cohiba Behike is one of the most sought-after cigars in the world! Yeah, they’re that good. A blend of the finest aged Cuban tobaccos including Meida Tiempo are used to create this limited run. These Cuban tobaccos are the highest leaves on the plant tending to be exceptionally strong.
With how exclusive Cohiba Behike is, expect to pay a pretty penny if you get your hands on these rare finds. Rated as one of the most expensive cigars in regular production, these Cohiba’s have been heisted and made as counterfeits. As your trusted cigar supplier, we would never want you to lose out on your wallet and the real deal. So, we’ve got your back with a few tips to help you spot a fake Behike.
A holographic image of the famous Taino Indian head is placed front and center on the band. Take a closer look, and you should find a smaller head within the larger one. Seeing this effect lets you know you have an authentic Cohiba Behike.
You should see holograms of the word Cuba and the Taino Indian Head repeated on the gilded top edge of the band.
The authentic band features nine rows of white squares in a checkered pattern that runs from the gilded top edge of the word Behike. The squares do not get cut off on the top or bottom row.

The famous Cohiba on white background with a square, gold border is embossed with proper gilding. However, it is non-holographic.
One of the many factors that make the Cohiba Behike a special cigar is the use of Media Tiempo leaves in the filler. Media Tiempo refers to a very small pair of leaves that sometimes sprout above the highest ligero priming of some tobacco plants. These leaves are small but contain very concentrated strong, complex flavors, and add a good bit of extra character to a blend. Therefore, if you want to try something similar to the Behike, we recommend you try non-cuban cigars that use the same types of leaves. A word of caution, though, beginners need not apply. The Behike is very strong, but if you think you can handle it, the Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970 and the Aganorsa Leaf Signature Selection are great selections to try if you want to know what the Media Tiempo priming is all about.
