Xikar Pipeline Lighter

Description

THe Xikar Pipeline - connecting you with your pipe.

Xikar has been designing top-notch cigar accessories built to last since 1997. With innovation, style and reliability crafted into every product, Xikar has become a household name synonymous with quality. Now, Xikar has extended their talents into the world of pipe lighters. Lighters designed to provide an effective and reliable light every time.

When selecting a pipe, quality is key, and the same can be said when choosing a lighter. That's where the Xikar Pipeline pipe lighter comes into play. At first glance, you'll notice the Pipeline's charming good looks and high-quality feel. But the Pipeline isn't just a one trick pony - it's highly functional too. An angled soft-flame easily lights any pipe, and is controlled by a knob to the left, making the Pipeline one of the first lighters to conveniently place flame adjustment at eye level. The Pipeline also features a flip-top cover, to protect the flint ignition system, as well as a stainless steel tamper that pulls out from the bottom.

I really like a piezo-electric lighter, but haven't had the best of luck with them. This flint-sparked lighter ignites every time. It's a little smaller than I imagined, but fits nicely in a pocket. Ultimately, a disposable Bic might be the most reliable and economical way to light your pipe, but it isn't nearly as elegant as this instrument. It does need a screwdriver to adjust the flame, and time will tell whether it can use the flints readily available in a drug store, but so far I recommend it heartily.

Took me some time to get used to flicking the flint mechanism and sparking it, and holding it just right to light a pipe. I've had bad luck with non-flint mechanisms because they fail eventually; hence this product. Back to the old fashioned way of doing things.

I love this style of lighter. It's based on a Dunhill model that came out around the time of the First World War. I'm saving up my pennies for a new one, (some motherless blighter stole my old one years ago, may he burn his nose off with it). Thanks for bringing it back.
