When it comes to cigar making, it all comes down to leaf selection. I mean, obviously, right? That’s why blends like Villiger Talanga are so successful....when emphasis is placed on picking the perfect leaves, good things can happen. So expect to be thoroughly and swiftly satisfied with this offering from a brand that’s been around since 1888.
Here’s an everyday cigar from Villiger that’s well-constructed and wrapped in a gorgeous Honduran Connecticut leaf. It’s sweet without overpowering, and includes a blend of three distinct varieties of fillers from Nicaragua. The binder is also Nicaraguan. Villiger Talanga will delight fans of mellow to medium-bodied handmades that are well-balanced and carefully constructed. It goes perfectly with a cup of coffee in the morning.
Villiger Selecto cigars utilize tobaccos from both Honduras and Nicaragua, including a Talanga Connecticut wrapper hailing from Honduras, a Jalapa Habano binder, and a mix of Esteli Corojo, Ometepe Habano, and Condega Habano filler leaves. This quite a find, and it’s well worth a try.
I ordered a five pack of these and what a nice cigar!
Great construction, flawless burn, and really great Flavors. A bit pricey for me to have as a daily cigar, but I will keep some in the humidor as a weekender. Villiger is a brand with a number of products I have come to enjoy and this cigar is on par with what I expect from them.
Highly recommend and will be buying again.
Upon lighting up a robusto there's an immediate pepper (as usual). Creamy, nutty, with a hint of cedar during the 1st third. Nice long finish. The second third transitions with increasing pepper, cedar, and raisins. It finishes out with increased flavors of cedar and a hint of peat. The cigar has a nice acidity and salt profile throughout. Great construction and even burn. Tip toes on medium-full body and stays a nice medium strength.
