Victor Sinclair Vintage Doppel Gordo

An absolute beast booming with buttery-smooth flavors.

Call it a behemoth. Call it a monstrosity. We’ll call it 90+ minutes of pure, unadulterated cigar-burning goodness. These gently box-pressed Doppel Gordos measure 6.0”x70 (say whaa??), a special small-batch production within the top-selling Vintage Maduro line from Victor Sinclair. A dense, epically-proportioned handmade that sits (very) heavy in the hand and comes jam-packed with tasty tobaccos. Dark Brazilian wrappers are hand-selected, extra-fermented, and carefully draped overtop a patiently aged blend of Dominican Piloto Cubano long-fillers. The result: buttery-smooth layers of flavor. Rich tobacco, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and so much more....delivered in a deep, concentrated fashion that’s balanced and surprisingly mellow throughout. The super-slow burn is cool and methodic, letting you truly appreciate every last nuance at play.

Great cigar full of flavor. Need to put them in humidor a few days to get them ready to smoke. I wish they went on sale so I could stock up

Victor Sinclair Doppel Gordo Doppel Gordo
Did not enjoy at all. Did not smoke smoothly, wrapper fell off. Hard to draw all around not an enjoyable smoke.

Another lawn mower cigar
Flavor is good, not great. Construction is very good. Good draw. Ash does not hold together well; a “dirty” smoke.

Disappointed
Burns way too fast and has to much air in the draw.

not your typical cigar
Interesting cigar, large box pressed with tons of air. The wrapper is large and burns very easy, offers tons of flavor and isn't over powering with filler. The size and open'ness of the tobacco offers easy pulls and tons of smoke. You can smoke it fast and not over pull, the cherry gets hots and tones down very quickly if you do go too fast. Downsides is the stick doesn't hold ash easy, it blows everywhere if there is a breeze is and it burns out fast. Not an easy starter either. Will buy again, favorite flavor by far.

Decent Cigar
Great taste on the Gordo, but the burn isn't consistent on any of them yet. Not bad, but still have to keep lighting them to get them even for the burn.

Big Box Pressed SUPER cigar!!!
A true monster of a cigar and a delight to smoke. When lit properly and smoked at the correct speed, this beast is really just a big sweetheart with tons of extra loving. The draw is consistently smooth, without the usual canoes or burnouts you sometimes see in box pressed cigars. Flavor is rich and full but not overpowering, the smoke is thick and supple, almost like looking at creamer first poured into black coffee when you let it out gently. If pushed you can finish this cigar in as little as 30 minutes but it deserves to be taken slowly and enjoyed over the suggested 90 minutes or longer. Even towards the end, if smoked right, there is very little heat and it remains a rich, delicious cigar. Definitely worth the money and I will definitely purchase again

Not good.
I love Victor Sinclair Vintage cigars but these are bad. The taste is raunchier than the other size cigars and I'm not sure why. Perhaps you don't get as much air with the draw due to the ring gauge, but they are not good tasting. Also, while the construction seems fine at prelight, the burn is a wild mess! burns down one side and needs constant correction. I had a few so it is consistent. A pain.

Second order and still happy. Great smoke at a slow pace. Still enjoying football, Drambuie, and these cigars. Thanks to CI.

My 2 Cents
I am impressed with this cigar. Great smoke for a football game on the screened in porch. Take your time smoking this large cigar or it will crater or volcano. Construction and taste did not disappoint. i've smoked several so far this month. Oh and these are strong cigars-full body. Nothing medium about these.

Nice cigars
Have really enjoyed. They burn evenly and have nice taste.

Not at all up to their usual quality
Cigars are way too soft. Feel like rolled up tissue paper. So soft they won't stay lit and burn straight. Do not buy these!!

Grass and Hay. What are cows?"
Just OK. The flavors profile is just a described. I don't know who thought it would be good to have a cigar taste like grass and hay. These burn in is almost to the half way point, before you get the coffee and dark chocolate flavors, but that doesn't last long before you get the hay and grass. Pre light, it smells like manure, which make me think they just rolled up a cow pie. The wrapper has an odd feel to it. If doesn't feel like tobacco it feels like a paper towel, it's just weird.

Great smokes, worth every penny
When you have one of these 'logs' make sure you have the time to sit down and enjoy. If you try to rush these they will burn unevenly but when you sit and smoke while relaxing with your favorite drink it will burn much more evenly and leave you thoroughly satisfied.

This was my first experience with a large ring size smoke. I didn't know what to expect but i was certainly not disappointed! Smooth smoking, long, long lasting! An enjoyable smoke for sure!

Decent Smoke
Good tasting smoke. Burns very unevenly though. Great value when one can buy them on sale. Their size is ideal for a long peaceful smoke.

One of my new favorites w/ ½ the price. Back ordered often get them when you can
I like many of the Victor Sinclair smokes. This one needed seasoned a little while to even out the burn. They seemed to fatten up a little in the humidor and the burn and flavor was awesome. I was looking for the inmenso but found these and now am a fan. Very enjoyable. They are box pressed big ol square cigars but I pulled the cellophane and put them in the humidor to breath They seemed to fluff up and draw better. I will defiantly keep these on hand and seasoned. can not beat this cigar for the price. 70 ring size is packed with flavor and very much enjoyed !

Keeps an even cherry the size of a quarter. Great smoke.
These beasts are great. LOTS of flavor. Mine were kinda dry at first, but I cut open both ends of the cellophane and put in humidor for few days to re hydrate. They burn even. stay lit long time because the 70 ring cherry. Lots of flavor and remind me of the inmensos from few years ago. Very enjoyable gordo of a cigar.

Customer Testimonials
I just got these cigars on special last week and I am thourougly impressed. Great flavor and a smooth draw. Burn very well and last a long time. Great for a relaxing evening smoke!!
Just received my VSVDG...I have enjoyed 3 without any complaints...a great smoke after a long day at work. My new favorite! Can't complain about the price at 2 bucks a stick. Thanks CI...keep the deals coming!
Well I need to change my opinion about these cigars. I really love these. The flavor is great. Burns very well. The first one I tried was a little rough at the beginning, but it turned out to be one of the best cigars I ever smoked. Hell, it was just as good as a $6.00 cigar I have had before. I will be ordering more. You guys are awesome. Happy I found you. P.S. It might take 2 Bic lighters together to light, but that makes it all the better. These things are big.
Just got my first ever VS. Not very impressed when first lit it up. Thought I was burning plastic. Once it got going good, it seemed ok. It has a decent draw; not too bad on taste. But that plastic burning smell is still here as I am smoking this right now. It isn't a bad cigar for the price and the ring size is a little much for me. I probably won't buy again, but there are so many great deals with CI. Love these guys....I only buy here....Thanks CI for all the choices.
One of the best values on a cigar you can get right now. Just make sure you have some time to smoke this bad boy! As previously mentioned, they are difficult to cut but I actually punched mine and it worked fine. There are some construction issues with them but mine burned evenly for the most part and only required a touch up once. Pretty solid chocolate flavors and thick, rich smoke. I had time to try a few different drinks with this cigar as it burns so long, and coffee went really well with it and brought out some of the nutty sweetness it has, and the porter I had complimented the flavors pretty well. Just my observation because we all have different taste buds, but this is a pretty solid deal on a solid smoke! Reminds me of the box pressed Toranos I have smoked, but for far less! Give it a try!
This is my preferred smoke! It has a great draw for a big stick. The wrapper has great mouth feel and flavor. But the best is the taste, mellow but very flavor full! Enjoy this one!
A big cigar with plenty of thick tastey smoke. A good hour or more smoke. Big cigar at a really great price!
Great stick if you have a couple of hrs or so to smoke it. Lots of flavor and lots and lots of smoke. Had no problem cutting it and it burned even for being as big as it was. Would buy again.
I was enticed by the the sale price and said "how bad can they be?" Other cigars at that price have been outstanding. Well, in this case, I got what I paid for. There's an off "chemical like" flavor as if you left the cellophane wrapper on it before you lit it. The wrapper starts blistering ( thank God for the binder!) when you relight it after a break. Don't waste your money on these cigars.
I bought these VS for my Son so he can stop bugging me for my own and that is why I have to keep my Humidor locked when he comes by. When he got these cigars, he called me and told me that they were great stogies and he was giving me one to try. well I did and man, they are AWSOME!!! They put out a lot of smoke and smells pretty good and taste not too bad. I am getting a set for myself too. I do dip the tip in some Sambuca before putting in my mouth and lighting the cigars, it gives a xmoother taste while smoking. Old Italian way.
An awe inspiring stick that's simply awesome! Yes, this stick is difficult to cut and the immense ring gauge makes it awkward to hold in your mouth, but the flavors are terrific. I didn't think it was bold, more of a morning stick to me. It does burn for a long time and it will need several touch ups during your smoke. It's a terrific value stick for $2 bucks a stogie. Don't pass this up.
Warning...smoking these things around people with a limited maturity level will provoke certain jokes about what it looks like while you are smoking this brazilian wrapped brick of tobacco. You will need either a good lighter or a couple of decent matches to get this thing smoking properly and evenly and then after that a careful eye on keeping the end evened up by rotating it around to prevent one side from taking off on you...the first 2 inches and the smoking draw is firm and the amount of smoke you get isn't overly impressive...after that down to how low you want to take it, the smoke increases, as does the "hit" effect...and the heat eventually...you can get a good blast of heat in a draw with even 2+ inches left on it, because of the monster sized cherry this thing has...you could use it as a small space heater...for the price, the markdown from retail, these are decent maduros for a nice, long, deep smoke and are well made, but getting the label off requires carefully tearing it off...don't try to slide it off...so far I'm fairly happy with the Victor Sinclair types of cigars I've had...they aren't overly complex, but a reliable good, smooth smoke in any case.
I got these on special last fall and while they were not my most favorite in the box, I did go through them rather fast. And for the money ($2 per), I could not complain.
I got this cigar when it was on a CI special. The immense ring gauge makes it difficult to cut cleanly and awkward to smoke. Having said this, it is still an enjoyable smoke and what I have come to expect from Victor Sinclair - great value for the price.
Great cigar lots of flavor and thick smoke. Take your time and enjoy!!!!
This a really great cigar. Big, Bold and Full Bodied. Not a quick after lunch cigar but a flavorful way to spend over an hour enjoying Maduro tobaccos at their finest. I was never a Victor fan but these are really great. They draw well are well rolled and holed a very white ash. Great Cigar!
